Chapter 2011: Feng Clan Arc — I’ll Grant You a Life of Splendor

Feng Jiu’er’s bluntness left Chen Hong somewhat at a loss.

It was poison, and she was still expected to try it?

“Jian Yi, do you truly not remember us?” Outside the tent, Zhao Yusheng’s voice carried in.

“If you don’t remember me, so be it, but you don’t even remember Jiu’er either? Do you know how many nights she cried herself to tears over you?”

Feng Jiang stared unblinking at Chen Hong inside the tent, showing no reaction at all to Zhao Yusheng’s words.

Chen Hong looked him over, then reached out and took the bottle. “Feng Jiu’er, if you dare harm me…”

“I want to kill you right now!” Feng Jiu’er cut her off mercilessly.

Feng Jiang seemed to sense Feng Jiu’er’s killing intent and immediately drew his sword, striding quickly through the doorway.

“Jian Yi, she’s Jiu’er.” Zhao Yusheng, startled, drew his own sword and rushed after him.

Feng Jiu’er stared unblinking at Feng Jiang, neither dodging nor flinching. “You’ll regret this!”

“Jian Yi, stop!” Just as Feng Jiang’s sword was about to fall, Chen Hong called out to stop him. “Go outside first.”

Her face was too hideous — she was afraid it would sully his eyes.

Feng Jiang said nothing, sheathed his sword, and turned to leave.

“How much do I need to eat?” Chen Hong asked, holding the bottle.

“However much you can bear.” When Feng Jiu’er turned back, her face carried a teasing smile, as though the heartache from a moment ago had never existed.

“The more I eat, the faster I recover!”

Of course, she felt no heartache either.

Jian Yi was perfectly fine, and her Third Imperial Brother was right in front of her — there was nothing to feel sorry about.

Chen Hong hesitated for a long moment, then unscrewed the bottle and poured every last pill into her mouth.

The pills dissolved the instant they touched her tongue, leaving her no chance for regret.

In the blink of an eye, a sharp pain stabbed through her heart.

“Feng Jiu’er, what exactly did you feed me?” Chen Hong asked, clutching her chest.

“I told you, it’s poison. Is there a problem?” Feng Jiu’er curled her lips into a smile. “Lie down. I’m going to start the acupuncture now.”

Chen Hong gritted her teeth against the pain and lay down.

She had already swallowed the medicine — now all she could do was choose to trust her.

“If you’re willing to abandon your martial arts and follow me from now on, I’ll grant you a life of splendor and comfort.”

She was in so much pain that even the words leaving her mouth trembled.

Feng Jiu’er didn’t take her words seriously at all.

If all she wanted was a life of luxury, she could have simply obeyed Feng Qiongcang back then and had everything she wanted as a puppet empress.

What worried Feng Jiu’er most was whether Chen Hong truly had the ability to stop the forces advancing from the rear.

Three days — to her, that was already an extravagance.

Once Feng Jiu’er began treating a patient, she could focus wholeheartedly even on an enemy.

Chen Hong’s face was indeed difficult to treat; she hadn’t lied about that.

More than half an hour later, Feng Jiu’er finally stood and began packing up her needle case.

“I’m still missing two herbs. I’ll go look nearby to see if I can find them.”

Chen Hong lay on the soft couch, her face pale as paper except for the scar that had turned even darker.

“Feng Jiu’er, don’t try any tricks, unless you don’t want to live!”

She didn’t even have the strength to sit up — it wasn’t hard to imagine how much pain she had just endured.

“Don’t let your face get wet for the next two days.” Feng Jiu’er tossed out the words and left.

“Jian Yi, follow them.” Since Chen Hong truly couldn’t get up, all she could do was order Jian Yi to handle it.

She had confidence in herself — of course she didn’t believe Feng Jiu’er could actually wake Jian Yi.

No one was more trustworthy than a puppet under one’s own control, and right now Chen Hong trusted Jian Yi completely.

But what she didn’t know was that the man who had been by her side all these days was not Jian Yi at all, but Feng Jiang, who had already “died.”

An hour later, Chen Hong endured through the effects of the medicine and slowly regained a bit of strength.

“What did you say, they’re eating roast chicken?”
