Within the metal laboratory, all manner of instruments flickered with light — the enormous screen most resplendently of all. After Ye Fan broke free, the entire metal hall erupted with a piercing alarm.
At the same time, one by one, ancient symbols blazed on the floor and metal walls. Lines of graceful strokes lit up, like a calligrapher’s most proudly achieved work in their lifetime — full of vigorous beauty, condensing the profound resonance of the Great Dao.
Without question, this was the power of divine law and order — the Dao having condensed into a tangible form. A civilization where technology and divine law fused together had formed its own terrifying system.
Within the metal hall, it was like a grand fireworks display blooming in brilliant splendor — radiant and multicolored. Every divine symbol and inscription awakened, weaving into a terrifying web of patterns that enveloped Ye Fan.
The power of a sage weapon!
Ye Fan’s expression changed. He finally witnessed the true terror of the flying vessel — this was nothing like the flying discs from legend on the other shore of the starry sky. This was a sage weapon forged from divine materials.
Slice!
In his hand, alongside the cracked green cauldron, there appeared a jet-black arrow shaft. He drew it through the air — and every manner of sage-domain law that had surged toward him was instantly dissolved.
The people in the laboratory all changed color. They shouted sharp commands. Strand after strand of lines moved across the metal walls, glowing with an undying divine radiance, as even more powerful laws interwove.
Boom!
Ye Fan abandoned pursuit of the leading pair — the man and woman — and activated the Movement Script. In a single step he reached the edge of the laboratory. He gripped the green bronze cauldron and used it like a divine hammer to strike powerfully against the profound and complex patterns of divine law order before him. That section collapsed, the isolation failing.
He leapt a hundred zhang, arriving at the violet-haired man’s side — close quarters combat, using the black sage arrow as a shield above his head, from which dark light cascaded downward. He reached out his golden fingers and grasped forward.
Thud!
The violet-haired man’s entire body blazed with Dao-traces, becoming an avatar of divine law, and clashed palm against palm with Ye Fan — and spat blood as he was sent flying.
Ye Fan was astonished. That had been a full-force strike from him, yet this man merely had a broken arm and blood spraying from his mouth — he had not been reduced to a pool of shattered bone. One could well imagine the exceptional quality of his physical form.
“What?! The Wang-tier physique, tempered by fusing numerous peak constitutions, has had its arm bones broken — utterly powerless against him?!” Those in the rear changed expression in shock. They were even more astounded than Ye Fan was.
Their system was unique — and terrifying. The violet-haired man’s physical body had long been tempered by secret methods to a level that inspired shock and awe, given the title of Undying Wang-tier Physique — and yet it had been sent flying like a scarecrow.
“This is the legendary Undying Golden Body. To encounter it here — this prey is priceless beyond measure. We must capture him alive. He must not be allowed to escape!” The violet-eyed woman appeared in another section of the metal hall, giving the command through the enormous screen.
“Best of luck to yourself,” Ye Fan said coldly, a trace of a cold smile at the corner of his mouth. He jabbed his finger and shattered the brilliant screen, cutting off the signal from that side.
Leaving a residual afterimage in his original position, he closed in on the violet-haired man. A palm descended — with a crack, it landed on him, shattering more than a dozen bones. A mouthful of innate violet blood flew out — different from the earlier fresh red blood.
Though a group of people was controlling various Dao-traces, they still could not stop him. All manner of symbols blazed brilliantly, flooding the area in radiant light — yet they were a step too slow.
Ye Fan grabbed the violet-haired man and lifted him up. His golden fingertip pressed against the man’s brow. One gentle push forward, and his Immortal Platform would be shattered.
Yet beneath his feet, all light dimmed. Every glow vanished. He found himself in a boundless void — as though he had arrived in the dark cosmos, with no edges and no end.
This was the dark prison within the flying vessel. The spatial laws these people commanded were exquisite and consummate. Array formations were everywhere underfoot, transporting him and the violet-haired man to this place, cutting them off in isolation.
Ye Fan held the man — whose identity was clearly far from simple — up and said: “Did you take me for a beast? Wanting to extract my blood, thinking yourselves so important. If anything, you can be my battle pet.”
The violet-haired man was exceptionally handsome, and his physique, tempered through a thousand trials and ten thousand refinements, was extraordinarily powerful. Yet before Ye Fan, even his Undying Wang-tier Physique was insufficient — a light knock and another bone broke, the pain causing him to break out in a cold white sweat.
“I have no choice but to admit I underestimated you. Among these native inhabitants, to find someone like you — someone who commands an artifact of the ancient divine beings, surpassing all my expectations.” The violet-haired man spoke.
Crack!
Ye Fan struck his palm down and snapped a section of the man’s shin bone, then said: “You presume yourselves to be superior, regarding us as lowly native inhabitants. And yet you are nothing special — there is nothing particularly exceptional about you.”
A flash of contempt crossed the violet-haired man’s eyes — a kind of arrogant pride — but he quickly suppressed it, fearing Ye Fan would make him suffer more for it.
Unfortunately for him, Ye Fan had cultivated the Source Heavenly Eyes. Even a glance that passed in an instant could not escape his sight. He brought his golden fist down directly, smashing it against the man’s thigh bone, shattering that as well.
“I ought to find an iron chain and fasten it around your neck — so you will stop thinking so highly of yourself. So your civilization fuses technology and divine law — what is there to be so proud of?”
The violet-haired man was in such agony that cold sweat broke out across his entire body. Nearly every bone was broken. He was deeply indignant at heart. Compared to close-quarters physical combat, their path lay in the cultivation of divine law — although they could refine and transform their physiques by unconventional means in a continuous process of metamorphosis, these were not abilities developed through their own efforts. At this moment, he refused to concede.
“You lowly native inhabitants — if you entered our Eternal Kingdom, you would only be taken captive. You would be utterly outmatched.” He endured the pain and spoke in a cold and detached voice.
Rattle!
Ye Fan produced an iron chain and fastened it around his neck — truly locking him up, treating him just like a battle pet.
“You…” The violet-haired man was so furious he spat out a mouthful of violet blood. Day after day he looked down from on high, regarding himself as one who could look down upon all clans. And now he was being treated this way by a native inhabitant.
“What ‘you’? Consider this a gift — a slap to go with it. You wanted to abduct me and make me a battle pet, thinking yourself some divine being or immortal?” Ye Fan gave him a slap, leaving blood at the corner of the man’s mouth.
“This is the legendary Undying Golden Body — it may cultivate into the most powerful battle physique. No matter the cost, we must obtain his blood. As for my elder brother — rescue him with the utmost care!” The beautiful violet-eyed woman — graceful as a spirit being — said from within another metal hall, watching everything in the dark prison through the screen.
Beep, beep…
Not far away, the sound of instrument scanning reached them. Data was being returned on the green bronze cauldron. After trillions upon trillions of calculations, its grade still could not be determined, and warning red indicators kept spiking.
Bang!
A puff of blue smoke rose. Every instrument in the area broke down and exploded outright, leaving the area in complete ruin.
A silver-haired young man reported to the violet-eyed young woman: “The green bronze cauldron cannot be simulated. The complexity of the pattern structure on its surface alone exceeds the limits of our comprehension. It can now be confirmed — this is truly an artifact of the ancient divine beings. If it were intact, it may well be one of the most powerful weapons beneath the starry sky.”
“This native inhabitant possesses a damaged divine artifact that surpasses the level of control within our sage-grade flying vessel. It would be best to give up — otherwise we may bring disaster upon ourselves.” A middle-aged man with golden hair, his locks loose and flowing, offered this counsel.
The violet-eyed young woman’s delicate brows furrowed slightly: “But… do you know what his value is? He rivals a few of the most powerful battle physiques in our Eternal Kingdom. His precious blood could be used to forge the most powerful warriors — able to contend with those few others. He might even, in time, grow to rival the ancient divine blood sealed in the Immortal Vault. We absolutely must capture him. I want him to become my battle pet.”
“But… the difficulty is simply too great. It will most likely be impossible. That divine artifact — even damaged as it is — cannot be countered by a sage weapon.” The golden-haired middle-aged man’s brow was tightly knit as he earnestly urged her to give up.
The others, though deeply agitated at the sight of the legendary Undying Golden Body, still could not help but face the situation with cool reason. After sighing, they offered their advice to the violet-eyed woman as well — judging that the probability of success was very low.
“Very well. Try every possible means to wound this native inhabitant. If he cannot be captured alive, then his golden sacred blood must be obtained at all costs!” The violet-eyed young woman reached her final decision and issued this command.
Boom!
A thunderous roar — the entire flying vessel shuddered. The dark prison exploded. Ye Fan wielded the green bronze cauldron and charged upward. In his other hand he held the violet-haired man, cutting a swath of destruction, driving straight toward the main control room.
“This is bad — all the instruments are failing. These are secret devices inscribed with laws, and outsiders cannot shake them. How is this possible?! He commands some special form of divine law that can interfere with them!” The visitors from beyond the realm erupted into chaos.
“Soldier Script — turn!” Ye Fan commanded in a low voice, striding forward in great steps. He used the Soldier Script to take control of the various objects inside the flying vessel, sending them into disarray.
Boom!
He wielded the green bronze cauldron like a blade cutting through bamboo, charging straight for the main control room. Every metal wall had been forged from divine materials with the patterns of the Great Dao carved into them — yet none of them could halt his advance.
“Eternal Killing Formation — cut him down!”
An elder cried out. Both hands swept and traced through the air. All manner of symbols appeared on the metal walls and floor, forming into a supreme killing formation of unrivaled caliber.
Whoosh!
Ye Fan drew his bow and loosed an arrow. The black shaft flew — with a thunderous boom it struck the metal wall — and on the spot the metallic radiance shattered, splitting apart in four directions, every last Dao-pattern symbol collapsed.
Spit!
At the same moment, the formidable elder was pierced through by the arrow. Blood flowed in a steady stream — and then within the span of a breath he became blood pulp, shaken apart by the sage force and scattered into the void.
“Stop his movements!” The silver-haired young man was a commanding officer, and he shouted loudly.
Yet dozens of people surged forward, channeling the various Dao-trace attacks embedded within the sage-grade flying vessel — to utterly no effect. Ye Fan simply placed the cracked cauldron over his head, while the two black arrows in his hand also radiated sage aura.
Crash!
The black arrows flew. The metal blocks before him shattered into four pieces. Even the divine materials of Grand Luo Silver Essence, Azure Gold, and White Jade Iron blended together could not withstand the penetrating force of these two arrow shafts.
“Quickly — use the divine light to sweep him out! Drive him out of the sage vessel. Temporarily abandon the golden sacred blood!” The violet-eyed young woman cried out.
The golden-haired middle-aged man personally took control. The sage vessel radiated dazzling brilliance. A beam of divine light swept toward Ye Fan — the same type of light that had originally confined him aboard the vessel. There was no dodging it.
Yet this time, he did not move in the slightest. The light could not send him away — for he had the green bronze cauldron upon his head, which neutralized the divine light completely, rendering it useless.
Flash!
Ye Fan closed in rapidly — unrivaled in close combat. With a rattle, he shook out a divine chain, coiling it around the slender snow-white neck of the violet-eyed young woman, and yanked her toward him.
“You…” The violet-eyed young woman’s hair flew loose, her entire immortal form trembling with fury. The gold ring on her wrist flew outward — the brilliance of silver light surged massively, releasing a supreme sage aura — but it was flicked away with a clear ring by the black arrow.
“You seem to enjoy keeping battle pets so much. How do you feel about me keeping you as one?” Ye Fan said, a faint smile at the corner of his mouth.
