Fan Xian’s expression was not pleasant. She ordered a group of elite fighters to take the front line and block Ye Fan, preventing further carnage. She called out: “Ye Fan—do you know what you are doing?”
“I am merely killing Cao Qing,” Ye Fan said calmly.
Fan Xian’s expression was cold. “In this Pure Land, regardless of one’s identity, mass slaughter of this kind is forbidden. If you have a grievance, bring it to the table. Such recklessness will not be tolerated.”
Within the Heavenly Pure Land, the Brahma clan held absolute authority. No one could defy them. All disputes had to be resolved according to their will and rules, and could not be allowed to disturb the peace.
“Not long ago he sent people to kill me—and nearly succeeded. This pale-blue armor was taken from his servant. I am merely striking back,” Ye Fan said in a low voice.
“Put down your weapon. Wait until my uncle returns, and everything will be explained. He will give you a proper answer.” Not far off, Fan Tian appeared—his red hair thick and dense, his expression grave.
“No. This is a matter solely between him and me. There is no need for anyone to arbitrate,” Ye Fan refused to yield.
“Insolence! This is the Heavenly Pure Land, not the outside world. Here, no one may violate the rules of the Brahma clan!” An elder’s voice rang out, filled with fury.
What had occurred today was extremely serious to them. It was the kind of thing that had only ever happened during foreign invasions—ancient saint-level armors clashing in open battle—and yet it was now occurring one after another within their own grounds. This was intolerable.
“Ye Fan, this is your fault. I do not wish for this matter to escalate. In a few days I will see that you receive a fair accounting,” Fan Xian said.
“A few days?” Ye Fan shook his head. “I’m afraid I won’t be able to wait that long—someone may come for me again. You know as well as I do that people have been targeting me these past few days. If I let this moment pass, I will never have another chance to kill Cao Qing.”
“What do you mean by that? Are you trying to violate the rules of my Brahma clan?” An elder’s eyes darkened dangerously, his hand already poised to act.
“Ye Fan, think carefully. Are you truly going to throw all caution aside? You have no justification today. I will not allow you to kill Cao Qing. This is my Brahma clan’s Pure Land!” Frost covered Fan Xian’s face, and her tone was severe.
At her side, Cao Qing showed not the slightest ripple of emotion—utterly composed and unhurried. His silver hair draped over his shoulders, his eyes deep as still water. The events unfolding around him seemed entirely unrelated to him. He spoke not a word.
“I have no justification?” Ye Fan gave a cold, scornful laugh. He swept his gaze over everyone present, then fixed his eyes on Fan Xian. “You only see me killing him. Do you truly not know that he sent people to kill me first—and nearly succeeded? I am doing nothing more than fighting back.”
Fan Xian’s expression remained frigid, and she repeated her warning: step out of the armor, and wait for Brahma Zhou and the other major figureheads to return.
“Boy of the Ye surname—you are far too presumptuous. Because Brahma Zhou has taken a liking to you, you truly think you can do as you please? In the Heavenly Pure Land, we do not allow you to run wild!” An elder of the Brahma clan with a long and distinguished record snapped.
The Cao family was a major clan with enormous influence across the Eternal Main Star. No significant power dared to offend them lightly. Cao Qing had come here for Fan Xian—in truth, something of an outlier for his family. The Brahma clan naturally went out of their way to court his favor, treating him with great care in ordinary times. The fact that he could bring two auxiliary divine-nature ores from the Cao family for the supreme constitution evolution liquid spoke plainly to his standing.
Now that he was in danger, even if the Brahma clan understood the full story, they could not allow Ye Fan to kill him. They had to protect him at all costs.
“Boy—you are courting death. If you had simply stayed in hiding, that would have been one thing. But daring to appear here so brazenly, with death at your very doorstep.” Xuan Linfeng was filled with hatred, letting out a cold, sinister laugh. He wanted vengeance for his grandson Xuan Mo. He looked toward the Brahma clan’s key figures and said: “Now that I am making my move against him, you have no objections, I trust. He is the one who sought his own death—provoking the dignity of your clan. Let me be the one to deal with him on your behalf.”
No one in the crowd spoke. They watched with cold detachment, and many had fixed their eyes on Ye Fan—sealing off every direction, preventing him from fleeing.
“He must die!” Duoluo’s grandfather’s expression was equally dark. He burned with the desire to refine and consume Ye Fan, his hatred for this young fighter boundless.
“Then there is nothing more to be said.” Ye Fan saw the situation clearly. Though the Brahma clan wanted to recruit him and coveted his Immortal Golden Blood, they could not allow him to kill Cao Qing—and were not above subduing him themselves.
Xuan Linfeng was a powerful Half-Saint from the Eternal Main Star, a figure of great prestige and extraordinary strength. He now drove a silver-white suit of armor and charged forward, a holy sword held high.
By now Ye Fan had reached the eighth level of Dao Severance. His strength was overwhelmingly formidable—capable of going head-to-head against anyone below a full saint, and he even sensed that he might be able to contend with an ancient saint.
He had never tested it, but he had that feeling. And now, with the blue-gold armor in his possession, he had even less reason to fear—this was like a tiger given wings!
Whoosh!
He charged to meet the attack. His body became a streak of blue light—though standing eight zhang tall, it moved with nimble and explosive speed, leaving one powerful afterimage after another in its wake. The air exploded, letting out wave after wave of strange resonant sounds.
From the first moment of contact, Ye Fan and Xuan Linfeng had already exchanged over a hundred blows. In a clash of super ancient saint-level armors, everything depended on the strength of the one inside—the stronger the pilot, the more authentic and lethal the saint-level power that could be drawn out.
“Pop!”
Pale-blue light blazed. The blue demon-blade in Ye Fan’s hand erupted into a brilliant cascade of flame. Sword-light poured outward like a tidal flood, engulfing the entire sky above.
A notch was carved into Xuan Linfeng’s silver sword. Sparks flew everywhere. Vast patches of black holes appeared across the sky. Saint-level power erupted in full!
They had nearly carried the battle beyond the domain boundary—tens of thousands of zhang above the ground—locked in fierce combat. Ye Fan had a clear upper hand. His mastery of the armor had gone from unfamiliarity to absolute proficiency, growing sharper with every exchange.
“Splat!”
Xuan Linfeng’s expression changed. His left arm rose slightly and a beam of destructive light shot outward—this was a science-and-martial divine ray, capable of boring through an entire planet. If it landed on its mark, there would be no path to survival.
Ye Fan let out a low roar, directing the pale-blue armor and bringing its full capabilities to bear. First, he sidestepped tens of thousands of zhang in an instant—like an ancient saint traversing the sky. Then, he crossed both hands and shook them with force. Pale-blue Dao markings rippled outward like concentric rings, filling the entire sky.
Xuan Linfeng shook violently. Even the energy shield of his armor could not hold—it shattered like crystal. His armor trembled, nearly torn to pieces.
“Stop him!” Fan Xian’s expression changed. She had not anticipated that Ye Fan, having only recently come into contact with the armor, could already be this terrifying—defeating even Xuan Linfeng.
Xuan Linfeng was a person of considerable prestige and strength, hailing from the Eternal Main Star—and yet he had been defeated.
Two elite fighters of the Brahma clan drove their armors and charged skyward, attacking Ye Fan. At the same time, Duoluo’s grandfather, Duoluo Mora, entered a jade-green armor and shot upward as well.
The three moved with extraordinary speed. Even in mid-flight they activated their heat-based weapons, releasing three beams of destructive light aimed at Ye Fan, seeking to obliterate him.
Ye Fan, drawing out the ancient saint-level combat power of the armor, displayed a terrifyingly imposing side of himself. He activated the Movement Technique. Like a streak of shifting light, he flickered across the sky—his position nearly impossible to track.
“Clang!”
He held the blue demon-blade and cleaved through Xuan Linfeng’s battle sword. Saint-level shockwaves surged outward. The sky shattered. Great swaths of primordial mist billowed into being.
He pressed his advantage without mercy, hacking out brilliant cascades of blue light in rapid succession. The demon-blade in his hand blazed with fierce brilliance, illuminating eternity itself.
Crack!
A terrifying sound of metal splitting rang out. He brought the blade down in a single stroke and severed Xuan Linfeng’s armor at the waist—reducing this instrument of war to wreckage, stripped of all power.
Duoluo Mora and the two elite Brahma fighters arrived, striking with full force and murderous ferocity, intent on destroying Ye Fan.
Xuan Linfeng had just barely recovered from his shock, drenched in a cold sweat. He burst free from the sundered armor and tried to flee.
But Ye Fan was unstoppable. His command of the instrument of war grew more fluid by the moment, and he forced his way out through the encirclement of all three armors with sheer, overwhelming force.
“Where do you think you’re going!” He raised the blue demon-blade. His entire body shimmered with an ocean-like radiance, and in a single step he had closed the gap.
Xuan Linfeng was terrified out of his soul. He was a Half-Saint—that was true—but in the face of an ancient saint-level armor, his power counted for very little. In sheer panic he fled. Everything that had happened was beyond what he had ever anticipated.
“Splat!”
Ye Fan brought the blade down. The blue demon-blade, several zhang in length, carved a dim and ghostly arc of light, landing squarely on Xuan Linfeng. A blade this massive coming down was less like a cutting strike and more like being hammered by a battering ram.
Xuan Linfeng was reduced on the spot to a smear of blood and pulverized bone, splattered in every direction. Even his primordial spirit never made it out. Body and spirit alike were utterly annihilated.
“This young man is fierce beyond all measure—he is terrifyingly dangerous. He is a born battle saint. Even a Half-Saint this powerful was killed by him!” Many members of the Brahma clan were struck with awe and dread.
In the next instant, Ye Fan wheeled around and charged straight for Duoluo Mora, deliberately sidestepping the two elite Brahma fighters to focus his assault on this Half-Saint driving the armor.
“This is bad—we can’t contain him. Quickly summon the elders. Have them drive those few most elite instruments of war here!” Fan Xian’s expression changed.
Every ancient saint-level armor was precious beyond measure. To produce one required an almost unimaginable price—enough to send a not-insignificant clan into ruin. Even major powers had them only in limited supply.
The battle continued in the sky. Ye Fan fought one against three, moving with free and easy abandon. He had become ever more formidable. The battle-blood within him boiled. His golden blood-aura spread outward, nearly dyeing the pale-blue armor golden in its entirety.
In this moment, he felt an impulse—a desire to face the ancient saint-level armors with nothing but his physical body. This feeling grew stronger and stronger. Having broken through, he now stood at the eighth level of Dao Severance. His strength had risen by a full tier. In a daze, he felt as though he could fight an ancient saint even without the armor.
“Clang-clang-clang!”
Ye Fan unleashed his power. His golden blood-aura surged. A single sweep of his blade severed Duoluo Mora’s armor’s right arm, triggering a minor explosion there—lightning interweaving, the void collapsing.
Duoluo Mora’s heart went cold. This young man’s terrifying power was beyond imagination. He was killing his way toward him in a manner that made his scalp prickle and his nerves shake. At this point he could hold on no longer. He turned and fled.
“Where are you running? Weren’t you the one who wanted to kill me?” Ye Fan gave chase.
The two elite Brahma fighters also felt a chill spreading through their hearts. In this battle, multiple combatants had been unable to stop a single person—and that person had grown ever more ferocious and terrifying, as if passing through an empty, undefended land.
A thunderous boom rang out. Flames surged skyward. Great Dao runes flickered—then a vast expanse of them collapsed.
Ye Fan held the blue demon-blade and cleaved straight through Duoluo Mora’s armor, splitting it apart and sending him tumbling free, spitting blood.
“Splat!”
A beam of blue Dao light flashed past. Another Half-Saint was obliterated—no bones remaining, no primordial spirit surviving—slain outright by Ye Fan’s hand!
From deep within the Heavenly Pure Land came a long howl. The clan’s veteran powerhouses had been roused. They drove their armors and came streaking in as several trails of flowing light.
Ye Fan’s expression shifted. Time was running short. He had to kill Cao Qing before these people arrived—or the opportunity would be gone forever.
Whoosh!
He stepped inside the ancient saint-level instrument of war. In the sky above, he called upon the Movement Technique beneath his feet, boosting his power by a full tier—effectively teleporting. He reappeared on the ground below.
“Ye Fan, stop. There is still time to retreat. When my uncle returns, he will give you a fair accounting. You cannot kill Cao Qing—not now!” Fan Xian called out.
By this point, how could Ye Fan possibly pull back? He took a few strides and was already closing in, the blue demon-blade held forward, hacking out wave after wave like a vast blue ocean pouring ahead.
“Stop him for me!” Fan Xian’s expression changed. She issued a loud command. Ye Fan was about to kill someone right in front of her without paying her the slightest heed.
The two armors in the sky descended and struck with lethal intent at Ye Fan’s back, seeking to destroy him from behind.
Ye Fan sidestepped. His footwork shifted in unpredictable ways beneath him. He transformed into a streak of blue light, flickering left and right—each shift carrying him tens of thousands of zhang away. It was terrifying to behold.
Cao Qing’s expression finally changed. He had never encountered anyone like this before. Ye Fan was running rampant on Brahma clan territory—was he truly not afraid of these raiders’ frenzied retribution?
This was simply without any restraint!
Cao Qing evaded rapidly. A person who had no fear of the Brahma clan—the most terrifying major power across the Immortal Feather Star Sea—was clearly a lunatic. There was no reasoning with him. The only thing to do was survive this encounter first.
He now split into thousands upon thousands of phantom doubles. Copies of him appeared everywhere—some flying upward, some burrowing underground, shooting off in every direction, dazzling the eye.
Any ordinary person would have been left frowning. This secret technique was formidable—every double was real, impossible to distinguish. But Ye Fan had studied this path deeply over many years. In order to comprehend the wondrous technique of One Breath Becoming Three Purities, he had spent years studying all manner of avatar techniques.
To put it plainly, Cao Qing performing this technique in front of him was like presenting it to the grandmaster of the very craft. And beyond that, the Source Heavenly Eye was unlike any other eye technique—it could perceive the fundamental source.
In an instant, Ye Fan had identified the true body. He stepped forward with the blue demon-blade raised, bringing it down to crush him.
Suddenly, an overwhelmingly powerful sense of danger emerged. Cao Qing detonated several hidden treasures, sending them flying toward him—and they exploded on the spot with earth-shaking force!
“Capable of wounding a saint—these are ancient saint-level forbidden weapons!” Ye Fan was startled and quickly dodged.
At the same time, he sliced through the void, opening a dimensional space. Drawing on the Primordial Chaos Secret Art acquired from Wang Teng, he activated the technique called “Eternal Exile.”
A great cross-shaped rift appeared, swallowing all the detonating forbidden weapons and pulling them into a mysterious sub-dimensional space.
Yet even so, the terrifying power of the forbidden weapons was still made manifest. On the spot, a vast patch of black holes appeared, and even that slice of dimensional space was obliterated.
“This time, where will you run!” Ye Fan bellowed.
“Hiss!”
A dazzling beam of light burst from within Cao Qing’s skull. It was a young man dressed in cyan robes—magnificent and imposing. He roared out: “Who dares injure my descendant?”
A powerful saint-level aura instantly swept over everyone present—swelling like a vast ocean, stunning every person there into silence.
“That is the Ancestor Saint of the Cao Family—Cao Tianjun!”
Many people were horror-struck, their expressions filled with shock. No one had expected him to appear.
“I am the one who wants to kill him!” Ye Fan did not even furrow his brow. He continued forward with large strides, driving the blue demon-blade ahead, and said: “You are nothing but a brand mark seal. Did you think that could stop me?”
“Roar—!” Cao Tianjun let out a furious, earth-shattering howl and hurled himself at Ye Fan to kill him.
This was a violent and explosive confrontation, blazing past in the span of a spark and a lightning flash. In the end—incredibly—it was Cao Tianjun’s seal that vanished. Ye Fan had destroyed it.
Everyone was shaken to their core.
From the distance, a long howl shook the air. The Brahma clan’s powerhouses had finally arrived. From far off they were already striking.
“Ye Fan—think carefully. This is my Brahma clan’s Pure Land. I will not allow you to kill Cao Qing!” Fan Xian called out loudly.
“Then there is nothing more to say.” Ye Fan raised the blade and brought it down.
“Use everything you have—save Cao Qing!” Fan Xian snapped the order.
“Splat!”
But it was too late. Ye Fan was as swift as rolling thunder. A beam of blue light fell, and Cao Qing was cleaved apart. Blood sprayed high, spattering Fan Xian’s short skirt—and even her flawless, pale legs were dotted with vivid crimson droplets.
