Chapter 1575: Killing into the Immortal Road

The Southern Domain was vast and magnificent. The laws of the Great Emperor surged and undulated, all of it driven into the Immortal Road. Seven great sovereigns struck together, opening a spectacle unprecedented since the beginning of time — destined to become the most radiant chapter of all!

Whether they succeeded or failed, they were certain to be recorded permanently in the annals of history — the most glorious and brilliant stroke — to be remembered forever.

This was an exploration of the Immortal Road. No matter what, they would venture the farthest, becoming the greatest epic heroes, and no one could ever dim their brilliance!

Boom!

The heavens split and the earth cracked. They had fought their way in.

Never before had so many Great Emperor-level beings erupted in a single age. Seven great sovereigns moved together, striking in unison — shaking the universe, their Pressure Aura pressing down upon ten thousand ages!

Within the great rift, laws of every kind intertwined — capable of reducing a Quasi-Emperor to dust, capable of matching a Great Emperor. The true Immortal Road had appeared, and it was no level pathway. It was a place of supreme and lethal danger.

To enter demanded strength!

“The myriad ages — the stars fall to the west!” One sovereign cried out, and as the words were spoken they became law. This one strike severed the ancient Immortal Road, shaking the foundations of ten thousand Daos. Only his own Dao remained in full bloom — transformed into the primordial stars, cutting through everything ahead, crashing toward that magnificent great city.

The heavens split and the earth cracked. A massive red divine bird flew forward — the vermillion bird, which cultivators had taken to be an immortal creature of the immortal realm. And this interpretation was not entirely wrong, for though it was formed from laws, it was truly overwhelmingly powerful, carrying fluctuations at the level of an Ancient Emperor.

How had it come to be? There was no time to investigate. The sovereign fought, the stars of all the heavens were falling, the ten thousand domains trembled, and the vermillion bird was beaten until its feathers flew in all directions — then, with a single mournful cry, it dissolved once more into a rain of light that cut open the path ahead.

Yet this was only the beginning. Even more terrifying disasters lay further on. Surging immortal qi, figure after figure of divine fiends emerging, each clad in armor, boundlessly terrifying, blocking the road ahead.

A greater crisis appeared — flooding forward from the depths of the Immortal Road. Enemies without end, supremely devastating and overwhelming — all formed from laws, not true bodies.

“The Dao severs the two realms!” The Qilin Emperor roared. Holding the blue-gold divine staff, his entire being ablaze with radiance, a single figure suppressing the universe across all eight wastelands. He swung the emperor weapon in his hand, and in one stroke cleaved the Immortal Road into two.

Ahead, those divine fiends were supremely powerful — each one manifested from the supreme great Dao laws, theoretically capable of matching any living being or supreme being in battle. Yet before the Qilin Ancient Emperor, every single one was cut in two.

Blood burst forth. A million divine fiends lay slain. This battlefield was utterly savage and terrifying. Even though these were laws of the Dao, they were rendered with such reality — like true flesh and blood meeting catastrophe.

The scene here was transmitted through various array formations to the outer domain, shaking every heart. What manner of combat power was this? A single move — a million divine fiends reduced to ash.

This was the majesty of a primordial emperor. Suppressing past and present and future, whenever he emerged, at no matter what time, he would be the foremost under all the heavens, the only one who reigned supreme.

Now with seven great sovereigns together — it was truly defying the heavens. Incompatible Daos had been squeezed into one space, and among them vast explosions were occurring. Every individual stood within a starry cosmos, enveloped in cascades of star rivers. Every individual was the master of the universe. They used their immense power to separate themselves from one another.

Each individual was equivalent to a genuine great cosmos. And even so, primordial chaos surged wildly among them, causing great explosions — all of which they directed using emperor weapons, driving the fluctuations into the Immortal Road.

Ancient Great Emperor-level beings engaged in a joint great battle — something that had never happened before. It was all only for the sake of achieving immortality. At this moment there was no holding back, every one of them fighting with full ferocity, charging forward.

Ten thousand cavalry surged in the void. In that great rift through the sky, gazing ahead, a world of immortal life gleamed in the light — floating there just ahead. They closed the distance at extreme speed.

And at this moment, several tens of thousands of phantom-like immortal figures appeared — as though in the midst of becoming immortals and ascending — flooding the sky and blotting out the sun as they came, blocking the way ahead!

A more vast crisis appeared. Surging forward from ahead on the Immortal Road, enemies without end, supremely devastating, all formed from laws — not true bodies.

“With a single sword, I level the entire universe!”

The old Daoist from the Immortal Mausoleum roared, his voice piercing the clouds. His entire body blazed with light, the primordial chaos blown apart, revealing a bronze-colored face — his voice like a great bell, hair silver-white, his Dao robe aged and worn — a garment that was truly from the mythological era.

Hum!

The immortal sword that lay crosswise on his knees flew up. The moment that sword emerged, the rivers of stars of the entire universe lost their color. The beginning of creation split open, and the Immortal Road itself collapsed.

“Pfft!”

The immortal sword swept across, and flesh and blood flew in all directions — every immortal phantom ahead was cut to pieces, becoming nameless corpses and bloody mist scattered among the catastrophe.

“These are not necessarily absolutely illusory — they may have once existed, those vermillion birds, those divine fiends, those immortal phantoms, now transformed into the Dao laws!” He called out lightly.

The ancient war chariot rumbled forward. He sat cross-legged on it once more, moving toward the path ahead. Divine beings in the way were killed. Immortals blocking the road were slain!

Within the Northern Dipper star domain, there were many great array formations capable of mapping everything near the Immortal Road. In the outer domain, who knew how many eyes were watching, all fixed in intense attention.

At this moment, someone cried out in shock, filled with astonishment: “That style of clothing… it truly is from the mythological era. Given how far we are separated from him — how did he survive?”

Across the ten thousand domains of all the heavens, countless lineages, spanning a hundred thousand races, some dating back to the most ancient times — they had left behind brilliant Dao traditions, had uncovered the relics of the mythological era, and possessed knowledge of many great secrets.

Now, nearly the entire universe’s powerful beings had assembled. Naturally there were those who perceived something.

“That immortal sword bears a striking resemblance to the Eternal Life Sword spoken of in mythological legend. Could it be that Ancient Heavenly Venerable is still alive?!” An elder patriarch of a great sect cried out in shock.

“That is right — it is him. He is the Eternal Life Heavenly Venerable who created the technique of the character for ‘One Who Attains.’ He did not die. After so vast a span of years, he still endures in the mortal world!”

People were completely staggered. How astonishing must this be? The mythological era was truly distant beyond measure from now — even more incomprehensible than the resurrection and appearance of the Primordial Emperor. How could he have survived?

The Eternal Life Heavenly Venerable — he must have spanned the mythological era, the primordial era, and the ancient era, living all the way to this day. He had witnessed the ages of the Venerable Emperor, the Undying Heavenly Emperor, the Divine Emperor, the ruthless Great Emperor, and the Wushi Great Emperor, and had never truly perished!

This made many people’s flesh crawl with horror. What kind of entities existed within the seven great life Forbidden Zones? Too terrifying — beyond the comprehension of people.

“Indeed — only someone like him, the creator of the technique of the character for ‘One Who Attains’ and one who had explored the extremes of the art of longevity, could have endured such a vast span of years by paying an immense price — sealed away from that distant age until today!”

The Eternal Life Heavenly Venerable had emerged. As the creator of one of the nine great secrets, he still existed, had not completely perished — shaking the mortal world!

Of course, as could be expected, he was on the verge of decay. The forbidden secret arts that had kept him alive until this age were about to fail him.

“If there is no Immortal Road in this world, then we shall carve one out — through to that vast immortal realm!” With immortality within sight, a great immortal realm seemingly just ahead, a force of eternal life pulling the seven great sovereigns forward.

“With our lives and blood, we will verify the method of achieving immortality. Even if we fail, we will sweep away the fog of uncertainty for those who come after us. Eventually, someone will ascend to immortality!” Someone roared with impassioned fervor.

At this moment, they were truly going to fight with their lives. For some had already reached the very last moment — their seals had lasted too long, and their lives were nearly gone. There was no time to waste.

In the outer domain, people were shaken once more. A Great Sage on the human race’s ancient road showed an expression of utter disbelief, voice trembling as he spoke: “Among them… there is… an Ancient Great Emperor of the human race!”

They had sensed the blood qi unique to the human race’s lineage — piercing through the heavens, bearing down upon the universe. There could be no mistake: the human race’s Great Emperor had been restored to the height of his former glory.

The origins of the seven great sovereigns were staggering beyond all words. From the mythological era to the primordial era, to the ancient era — all were accounted for. Among them were Great Emperors, Ancient Emperors, and Heavenly Venerables alike, all having emerged into the world.

“Lingering to this day — it was not cowardice. Only unwillingness. Just one glimpse — to see how immortality is achieved!” Someone spoke with great sorrow, pressing forward with no intention of looking back, charging toward what lay ahead.

“Even if we break into the immortal realm, we can never again be true emperors and sovereigns. Such an immense price, paid only to verify the method of achieving immortality — was it worth it?” Another roared.

In this moment, endless immortal figures appeared. The Azure Dragon soared. The Immortal Phoenix spread its wings. They were surrounded, and the most terrifying slaughter broke out — blood was flying.

The Ancient Great Emperors were fighting with everything they had, roaring with force, slaughtering hundreds of millions of supremely powerful immortal figures — were these laws of the Dao, or living beings that had once existed? No one knew.

Was it worth it, to pay such an immense price, to endure until this age? No one knew. Future generations would be grateful — they were leaving behind the method of achieving immortality for those who came after, verifying it with their own lives.

A million divine fiends, ten million immortal figures — all of them slaughtered. Nothing could block the seven sovereigns. They were too powerful. They reached the walls of the city, standing before the grand pass formed from laws!

“What lingering? What leaving behind the method of achieving immortality for those who come after? I do this only for myself — for immortality. Though the waters of blood rise to the heavens, what does it matter?!” The master of the Undying Mountain said coldly, without the slightest ripple of emotion.

Among them were Heavenly Venerables, Ancient Emperors, and Great Emperors — all supremely transcendent existences. Yet the beliefs of the seven great sovereigns were not necessarily the same, and their manner of expression would differ.

“Boom!”

He raised his right arm high, the black battle halberd aimed forward. In an instant it was as though a primordial savage beast had emerged — a terrifying aura surged toward what lay ahead. Even the real world outside the Immortal Road seemed on the verge of crumbling, and the Great Emperor’s array formations moved rapidly to contain it!

In the outer domain, many small celestial bodies shattered directly, ground to powder — all of them destroyed by this fluctuation.

People were aghast, grateful they had retreated far enough. This sovereign was too savage and violent — utterly indifferent to others, with only one purpose in sight: to kill his way into the immortal realm. What did he care if, after his death, flood waters would drown the sky?

“That great halberd has appeared before — it belonged to a sacred spirit who escaped the shackles of a stone embryo, truly achieving ultimate sublimation, ultimately attaining the Dao and becoming a sovereign-level powerful being. He is the Stone Emperor!”

In the outer domain, someone trembled as they recalled the records of ancient texts, and perceived the true identity of the Undying Mountain’s master. The great halberd had emerged alongside him from the stone embryo — its name: Tian Huang. Also known as: the Stone Emperor’s Halberd!

From this halberd, people divined his origin — the sacred spirit who had once presided over all under heaven: the Stone Emperor. He was not dead. It was he who had taken up residence in the Undying Mountain, transforming it into a life Forbidden Zone.

“Kill!”

In the Stone Emperor’s hands, the Tian Huang Halberd swept forward, striking down with great force, crashing heavily against that magnificent great gateway — striking squarely against the pair of colossal doors.

A heaven-splitting, earth-cracking crash rang out, shaking all six directions and eight wastelands. Had the other sovereigns not contained a portion of the blow, this fluctuation would surely have destroyed the Eastern Desolation, annihilating the Northern Dipper’s ancient life-bearing world!

Crack!

Struck by him, the city gates cracked open directly — a colossal fissure appeared. Then, with a thundering crash, they began to topple. The Stone Emperor’s power shook the ancient world and illuminated all of history.

At the same time, the other sovereigns struck as well. Every one of them had once attained the Dao, had once commanded the primordial wilderness of the universe, had once been the sole master and sovereign. Who among them would be inferior to any other — they had all weathered the rise and fall of the mortal world!

Boom!

A mighty crash — the heavens split and the earth cracked. The great rift of the Immortal Road shattered completely. That magnificent city gate tower was battered down directly by the seven great sovereigns, dust and smoke rising into the heavens. They had fought their way in!
