“The Feathered Transformation Main Star has been broken โ fewer than one in ten survive, too many have died…”
“The Minglan Main Star has been bathed in blood โ all the saints have been annihilated!”
……
One report after another arrived, and the powerful cultivators still alive had grown numb. No one knew when it would be their turn. Across the vast cosmic starry expanse, no one could say how many ancient lands had become blood-soaked graves.
The Supremes were destroying the world, and no one could stand against them. To face them was certain death โ even the Great Completion Holy Body had fallen, extinguishing the last ember of hope in people’s hearts.
From that point on, this world was plunged into absolute darkness. Not a single ray of light could be found โ only blood and sorrow.
“The Forsaken Heaven Supremes have slaughtered their way into the depths of the Starry Sky Ancient Road!”
Nothing could halt their advance. They moved through the world of mortals like primordial beasts rampaging unchecked, hunting without mercy โ a single one of them was enough to slaughter every powerful cultivator in existence.
“Broken โ the Heavenly Ghost Clan’s ancient road has been severed, and every soul that had not yet departed has been wiped out!”
“The Human Clan’s ancient road has been devastated โ entire cities are filled with nothing but corpses. Every soul that had not evacuated has been reduced to a wandering ghost!”
……
This world was drowning in an atmosphere of despair and terror. Not a single ray of dawn could be seen. The slaughter continued without pause. People did not know how many living beings the Supremes needed to devour.
The Starry Sky Ancient Roads had become a rallying point for the Supremes โ a primary target, for these roads still had saints and powerful cultivators in considerable numbers, making them a natural site of catastrophe.
Anyone who could leave had already left. Those who remained would die without exception.
Across every corner of the universe, all saint-level cultivators were in full retreat, choosing the most desolate star regions, refusing to gather or cluster together โ only by scattering did any hope of survival remain.
By now, the Supremes had bathed countless ancient stars in blood and could no longer be bothered to hunt isolated individuals. Only when a Grand Saint and numerous saints were discovered together would they draw notice โ and that was certain to end in tragedy.
In the end, the ancient Supremes convened, having slaughtered so many that the count had long since surpassed hundreds of billions โ perhaps even trillions. The entire universe was weeping, bleeding.
“This is merely the beginning โ it is far from enough. The true feast lies ahead. Our losses this time were far too great. Even if we emerge unscathed from this age, after a stretch of time has passed, we may not be able to endure.”
No one could achieve true immortality. Even those who had slashed themselves once and slumbered for ten thousand ages could not โ for they had already emerged multiple times, breaking free from the immortal source to manifest. Even without ascending to absolute transcendence through total sublimation, this was still a devastating wound to themselves.
They had survived, yes, but at a price โ and it was not true immortality. Too many constraints bound them. They would inevitably turn to dust.
The next time around, some of them might not even have the opportunity to ignite a dark upheaval. They were destined to sit in meditation and pass away in the river of time.
Slumbering for ten thousand ages, and yet in total they had been active for merely a handful of days โ for beings of such terrifying power, this was a humiliation beyond endurance.
“Perhaps it is time to bathe some truly weighty living entities in blood โ to strengthen our weapons and perhaps fortify ourselves as well, extending the immortal lifespan and undying tenure of our immortal platforms.” The Stone Emperor said, his voice cold as frost.
“Your meaning is…” The Samsara Supreme’s heart jolted. “Unless we bathe the forbidden zones in blood โ slaughtering those of our own level!”
“No โ we go to slay the divine gods.” The voice of the Stone Emperor, master of the Undying Mountain, was glacial.
“The so-called divine god race โ they are nothing remarkable. What do they amount to?” The Light-Dark Supreme spoke with icy disdain.
“No. We go to slay the divine gods sealed within the emperor-grade weapons, seize their life energy to fortify our weapons โ and perhaps extend the time we can remain in this world.” The Stone Emperor spoke without a trace of mercy.
“This…” Every heart among them lurched. The approach was too extreme โ it might bring consequences of heaven-shattering magnitude. It was foreseeable that each of them could face grave danger in the process.
“What is so extreme about it? The road to immortality has gone astray, heaven and earth are in chaos, and this moment in time has severed the flow of ten thousand ages โ even you and I cannot predict what will happen next. The people of former ages were likewise destined not to know. They could not foresee this era โ there will be no counter-measures prepared, and no unexpected interventions.”
The Stone Emperor spoke with grim finality. The black, sky-desolating war halberd in his hand was razored sharp, its killing intent shaking the heavens. He was supremely assertive โ he advocated slaughtering everything to completion.
In the end, the ancient Supremes raised no objection. All parties accepted the decision.
The emergence of the Immortal Road was something many Supremes had calculated โ the result both right and wrong, impossible to say clearly. This was a unique moment in time, one that had severed the flow of ten thousand ages. What came after could not be deduced. Using this opportunity to engage in slaughter, to push themselves to their peak state and be ready to face an unknowable future โ that was the thinking of every one of them.
“Boom!”
Heaven and earth shattered. The blood-slaughter continued.
Some small worlds were spared, escaping suffering โ they held too few people to be worth visiting.
There were also certain hidden lands protected by ancient great emperor formations and concealment arrays, which had yet to be discovered. The universe was too vast. As long as the Supremes did not approach, those emperor-inscription arrays were sufficient to cloak everything.
Indeed, a few complete and flawless formation arrays specifically crafted by ancient emperors and great emperors to conceal their presence could seal away all traces entirely โ even an ancient Supreme passing close by would not necessarily sense them immediately.
In the sea of blood, seeds of hope would always remain. The universe was too boundless for the ancient Supremes to truly reach every corner โ countless desolate, uninhabited star regions would inevitably be overlooked.
There were even regions that no living being had ever set foot in since the beginning of time.
And yet, when the ancient Supremes made a concentrated effort to sense across the cosmos and specifically sought out certain inheritances, it became a catastrophe of unimaginable scale โ nearly impossible to escape.
“Found it โ the Divine Refinement Cauldron of the Radiance Clan!”
On that day, the ancient star of Guangming suffered a complete bloodbath. Every member of that clan was praying and calling out, and the divine god sealed within the Divine Refinement Cauldron was revived, reaching its absolute peak state.
The divine cauldron, forged of azure-gold, erupted in violent upheaval. The divine god within it stirred, launching into slaughter โ waging war against a Supreme!
“You were created by beings of our level. Even if you can wound us, you are ultimately still a step short of the necessary refinement!”
The ancient Supremes were not in a state of absolute perfection, yet they still commanded the emperor’s law. Moreover, each carried their own emperor-grade weapons, and with two Supremes making their move, this tragedy would unfold without any unexpected turns.
In the end, the Divine Refinement Cauldron was detonated, shattered into fragments, and divided equally between the Stone Emperor and the Samsara Supreme. They smelted the divine god into their own weapons โ and moreover, a portion of its essence was temporarily refined into their own bodies and immortal platforms, waiting to be fully tempered and absorbed.
With this example now set, the Light-Dark Supreme, the Lord of the Divine Ruins, and the Forsaken Heaven Supreme also made their moves. The most devastating events of that day unfolded.
The inheritances of the former Northern Dipper Star Region were struck one after another by obliterating calamities โ even those who had fled into the star regions could not escape and were hunted down.
The Ancient Hua Dynasty and the Divine Continent Dynasty โ two of the four great imperial dynasties of the Central Province โ were destroyed in succession, becoming history. Only a small number of people were “granted” survival: one in ten survivors, seeds preserved by the unspoken covenant of the Dark Era. But their emperor-grade weapons were annihilated.
This was an uprising of violence. Two emperor-grade weapons from the two dynasties were revived in succession โ yet both were shattered into fragments, their divine gods slain, and every last drop of their vital life force absorbed by the Supremes.
The impact of this was immense, shaking the entire universe.
“This is only the beginning โ we not only must survive, we must forge the mightiest weapons.”
They would continue. They would continue the blood-slaughter. Stars dripped blood across their entire path, and not a trace of mercy was shown.
In addition, the Great Completion Hegemon Body was also engaged in slaughter. Alone, he did not move against the emperor-grade weapons โ but he massacred without restraint, his cruelty surpassing even the ancient Supremes in its extremity.
In his wake lay mountains of corpses and seas of blood. Beneath his feet, bodies piled without end. Like a peerless demon sovereign, his very hair was wreathed in bloodmist. Step by step, he advanced, and the universe trembled in his wake.
The final target of the several Supremes was the Northern Dipper โ for there were certainly still emperor-grade weapons there, such as the weapons of Luan Gu, the demon-suppressing pestle of the Amitabha Emperor, and possibly other emperor-grade weapons as well.
But the Stone Emperor shook his head, indicating they should go to the Northern Dipper last โ it would serve as the final stop on the return journey. His expression was cold beyond measure. He said: “Void โ you are already dead, yet the grudge between us is unresolved, and the imperial oath has long since expired. Pay for the hatred of former days with your bloodline and your emperor mirror!”
His target was the Ji Family. He intended to search every corner of the universe until he found them, to annihilate them completely โ and above all, to shatter the Void Mirror.
“Let me come with you. After all, it is a celestial mirror that has been stained with the blood of Supremes โ one that is exceptionally strange and powerful.” The Forsaken Heaven Supreme said.
“No need. I look forward to that ancient mirror being sufficiently breathtaking. This is a matter between me and Void โ it will be concluded here.” Holding his black war halberd, he set off alone.
The several Supremes parted ways one after another. None returned to the Northern Dipper immediately โ they continued searching for formidable prey, intending to bathe heaven and earth in blood across different routes.
“Boom!”
The Yuansheng Ancient Star was obliterated. Many cultivators on that star had let out roars and angry curses, refusing to submit to their fate. In response, the Samsara Supreme flicked a single finger โ and the star was directly shattered. This marked the first instance of the deliberate destruction of an entire star.
In the other regions, the Ancient Crouching Dragon Star, the Abyss Sea Pure Land, and eighteen other locations were each bathed in blood in succession.
“Void Emperor โ where are you? Come out and fight one more battle for your people!”
“Alas… poor Void Emperor, fallen too soon. Had he not, how would such dark upheaval have descended upon the mortal world?”
There was no denying it โ the achievements of the Void Emperor were immeasurable. In the age of antiquity, he had waged blood-war across the eight wildernesses, standing alone to hold back multiple Supremes, fighting throughout his entire life and leaving legends in countless places.
Some elderly Grand Saints who remembered those times let out howls with their great thought-force, leading all living beings in prayer.
“The power of all living beings โ perhaps this is the only remaining hope. The Void Emperor is gone, unable to protect the living anymore. But perhaps the thought-force of all living beings can still settle the score with the Supremes.”
This was a method proposed by several elderly Grand Saints, uncovered after poring through countless ancient texts.
People mourned the Void Emperor, the Human Emperor, the Holy Body, and others โ and at the same time, they cursed the ancient Supremes, filled with blood and hatred.
“Using the thought-force of all living beings to reckon with me? Far too weak. What of all living beings? They are not worth a second glance. Perhaps only during the moment of becoming emperor โ or upon the road to immortality โ at such critical junctures can they have any influence upon me. In ordinary times, what are you to me? The will of all living beings exists solely to be trampled underfoot by those who stand at the absolute pinnacle of the world!”
The Light-Dark Supreme laughed without mercy. He extended a single finger, and the vague, indescribable wisps of force that had begun to coil toward him exploded apart โ unable to reach him.
Corresponding to this, countless people across the ancient stars had their foreheads burst open โ blood flowing freely, terrible holes appearing in their brows. They collapsed into pools of blood, and even Grand Saints were not spared.
“Human Emperor โ Void Emperor โ where are you…?”
These were the dying murmurs of an elderly person in their final moments, filled with despair and unwillingness. White hair was matted with blood. A frail, aged body sheltered several children beneath it.
And this was but one example among the mortal tragedies โ thousands upon tens of thousands, hundreds of millions upon billions. Too many sorrows continued to unfold.
On Earth, atop the Hangu Pass, four silhouettes stood side by side. The most ordinary-looking man โ unremarkable in every way โ raised a hand and touched his cheek. It was wet with tears.
This was the instinct of the body โ and also some deep stirring from the innermost depths of his soul sea.
“I hear hundreds of millions of living beings wailing in agony, calling out to me, filled with despair…” He said quietly, wiping away the tears. “It is time. We should set off. What does it matter if we die?”
“Yes โ it is precisely when those people are at their most triumphant, their vigilance at its lowest. Those weapons should have revived by now. The final โ the only โ opportunity has come. Even if we die, we must fight them!” Said the imposing and heroic Shennong. He, too, had heard the calls of countless people, transmitted directly into his soul โ as if coming from the depths of ancient ages.
The silhouettes atop the Hangu Pass vanished, plunging into the depths of the cosmos.
“Bang!”
The Light-Dark Supreme’s body erupted in a long streak of blood. He lurched, yet still could not stop his momentum, and went flying sideways, drenched in blood.
And yet, in the end, he did not fall.
Without a sound, the void split open. A man of ordinary appearance stepped out.
“It is you โ you have unleashed the forbidden immortal art exclusive to the Void Emperor!” He had already heard about this from the Samsara Supreme. Though the face before him was so familiar, his expression remained cold and detached. “Even though you possess an emperor body, you are no longer your former self. You have lost the imperial law. And you think you can contend with me? You are simply throwing your life away.”
The newcomer was silent, not saying a word. He possessed an emperor body, yet in the end had failed to land a single killing blow โ this outcome had been expected, yet he had to fight regardless.
In another star region, Shennong appeared abruptly. He likewise used his emperor body to send the Samsara Supreme coughing up great mouthfuls of blood, nearly cleaving him in two โ but it was still a fraction short of success.
The Lord of Samsara revealed the most ruthless smile. “You have finally emerged from the Hangu Pass. I have been waiting for you to appear โ ha ha ha!”
Clearly, all beings capable of threatening them would be eliminated โ every last one destroyed, so that no power remained capable of obstructing their advance.
“Boom!”
In the distance, another emperor-grade weapon shattered โ another supreme celestial weapon lost to that day.
Several silhouettes converged from across the star regions. All the Supremes appeared together, then swept in from every direction across different star regions, encircling the four who had emerged from the Hangu Pass within a single domain.
“What a surprise โ Void, we meet again.” The master of the Undying Mountain, the Stone Emperor, said in a low and chilling voice. He flung over the corpse of a Grand Saint and said: “This is one of your descendants. I have annihilated many of them โ this is only one, though their nests appear to be numerous, and have not been completely wiped out yet.”
Without question, this would be the final battle. The several Supremes had closed in from every side, gazing at the four before them as though fixing their eyes upon the purest, most refined immortal essence. These were people who could match them in combat โ the vital life energy within their bodies would surely be as vast as the sea.
“Kill you, bathe the ten thousand domains in blood, and this age will be brought to its close. Offer yourselves as sacrifices.” The Stone Emperor said, his voice grim and pitiless.
“This age is indeed approaching its close…” The ordinary-looking man in front spoke with grief, murmuring to himself.
“Good that you understand!”
“I understand โ I have already prepared myself for death. But you too must pay a price. You have created far too many great enemies for yourselves!” The man who looked exactly like Ji Zi roared โ the first time he had ever been this imposing โ and the sound shook the universe.
“Great enemies โ do any still exist in this world? With just you people โ you are not enough!” The Stone Emperor laughed, his head thrown back to the sky.
“Emperor-grade weapons, too, have life. You have shattered multiple weapons in succession โ every emperor-grade weapon across the entire universe has been roused and has revived of its own accord. Today, they come to execute all of you!” The man who looked exactly like Ji Zi was not physically imposing, yet the aura of might and righteousness he radiated shook the very soul.
“Boom!”
The demon-suppressing pestle trembled, shattering ten thousand things, descending from the heavens, ten thousand streams of violet energy surging and billowing upward.
“Clang!”
Immortal light sliced through eternity. The Supreme Emperor Sword emerged, illuminating the nine-layered heavens, tearing open the universe, cutting its way to this place.
“Crash!”
The Nine Li Diagram trembled, smashing through the celestial vault, arriving from an incomprehensibly distant place, spanning hundreds of millions of star rivers, pressing downward.
“Rumble!”
The Western Emperor Pagoda shot into the heavens, immortal tears of jade-green gold scattered their light across the universe, all living beings wailed in sorrow, shaking the thirty-three layers of heaven, pressing down over the realm of the mortal world, descending with crushing force.
……
One emperor-grade weapon after another โ all had been roused by the most devastating slaughter in ten thousand ages. Awakening together, emerging together, advancing of their own accord to this place, to suppress the ancient Supremes!
