Chapter 1602: The Book of Seals

Clang!

The Heaven-Forsaking Supreme was also struck โ€” a strand of primordial chaos came sweeping in like a silk ribbon and smashed against his weapon, sending his body stumbling. He staggered back repeatedly, crushing a stretch of starry sky as he was knocked far away.

The Samsara Supreme, the Light-Dark Supreme, and the Heaven-Forsaking Supreme had all suffered heavy blows. The Stone Emperor and the Master of the Divine Ruins were each inwardly shaken โ€” those techniques were truly formidable.

“Wushi!” The Samsara Sovereign bellowed, his face consumed with fury. That slap had been too vicious and merciless, landing directly upon him. The pain and suffering of the flesh was nothing compared to the humiliation of spirit โ€” this was contempt, this was an insult.

Like a resounding, thunderous slap across the face โ€” full and solid โ€” it made him rage beyond all reckoning, filled to the brim with unwillingness.

With a light grunt, his entire being transformed into a streak of flowing light and lunged upward in pursuit, unleashing a divine power that shook through ten thousand ages, intent on destroying Ye Fan and whatever artifact he held.

The Light-Dark Supreme was furious as well. A foot had been stamped upon him โ€” what face did he have left? In his right hand appeared a divine staff โ€” short, no more than a foot long, forged from tribulation-gold, dazzlingly brilliant, its radiance so intense it made even the Milky Way look dim. In his left hand appeared an ancient shield, jet-black throughout, cast from black-gold, terrible in its power, like a black hole given form.

“Kill!”

The divine staff and the dark shield collided with one another โ€” light and dark singing together, as though an ancient immortal scripture was being recited in unison by gods and demons, shaking the ears and resounding majestically through the universe.

Strand after strand of chains of order flew upward, each gleaming like a constellation of stars, surging toward Ye Fan’s position. This was the Imperial Dao law born from the Light-Dark Immortal Scripture, manifesting a power capable of obliterating the mortal world.

Two supreme beings charging simultaneously โ€” Ye Fan naturally felt waves of killing intent washing over his body. Formidable as the Holy Body was, even he felt the hairs on his entire body stand on end โ€” an instinctive reaction.

And yet he was not afraid. The artifact in his hand rang with a clear metallic sound and sent divine edicts flying outward, followed by a pair of fists erupting forth, collapsing the starry sky, as the surging Imperial Dao laws blocked both supreme beings.

Rumble!

Like primordial storm-thunder resounding, the sound so immense, the blade-winds so fierce, as if worlds were being born and destroyed โ€” countless star systems in the distance simply crumbled to dust, and vast swaths of star domains fell dark.

Emperor fists struck forward, and the storm-winds they generated were this domineering and savage. Truly deserving of Great Emperor Wushi’s name โ€” facing two supreme beings head-on, sending them both crashing away.

“The Book of Seals โ€” as though Wushi himself has entered the world!” The Stone Emperor’s expression turned somber and cold as he stared ahead.

No true Great Emperor Wushi had descended into the world. This was merely an immortal scripture โ€” held in Ye Fan’s hands, autonomously launching its attacks, the laws it sent flying materialized in tangible form, as though a real person had appeared.

It was a stone book. When it first emerged it had been immense, but now it was no more than a foot in length โ€” ancient and crude in form, yet wreathed in primordial chaos energy, and already open.

This was the Wushi Scripture!

Ye Fan had encountered it before, and had been fortunate enough to learn one supreme divine technique from within it. He had never imagined it would be this that appeared โ€” flying into his hand. Ancient and unadorned on the outside, yet inside was an endless world radiating immortal brilliance.

This was utterly breathtaking. What Great Emperor Wushi had left behind was actually this โ€” not only did it contain all that he had learned and mastered, but it had also sealed his Emperor-level battle power, making it truly manifest once more.

“Three Realms Stele carved with my name, the Samsara Road written with life and death โ€” I grant you death!”

The Samsara Supreme’s expression darkened to something terrifying. He actually began to chant an incantation โ€” something that supreme beings rarely did in battle, for it was far too cumbersome. Yet he recited it with gravity, seeking to draw forth even greater power.

This was a strange and wondrous Dao-edict power โ€” the manifestation of his will and the Great Dao. From the crown of his head it surged forth, transforming into strands of terrible demonic light that pulverized the starry sky.

With a soft hum, the demonic light further materialized into one visible ancient character after another. This curse-like radiance rose into the air and charged straight toward Ye Fan’s position โ€” gods encountered, gods slain; buddhas encountered, buddhas destroyed!

In this moment, from far away, a quasi-Emperor of unknown race let out a great cry. He had rushed from the depths of a star domain to join the battle โ€” and before he had even drawn close, still separated by a vast distance, his form and spirit detonated at once, dying a violent death.

Pity โ€” and lament!

This had been a person of considerable talent, yet died in vain.

It made clear just how terrifying the Samsara Supreme’s law-based attack was โ€” spanning across the starry sky, separated by infinite distance, it had still harvested so powerful a life.

Ye Fan naturally encountered an enormous crisis. The golden and green hairs across his entire body all stood on end โ€” an ill omen manifesting from the Great Completion Holy Body.

And yet he did not meet with calamity. The treasure vial in his left hand automatically sent dozens of drops of blood flying out, landing within the Wushi Scripture, causing primordial mist and vapor to billow upward. With a resonant clang, the Wushi Scripture turned to a new page!

Then an Imperial Dao law flew forth, manifesting as a mighty divine statue โ€” as though it had traversed all the primordial vastness of ten thousand ages of the universe, arriving from the very source of creation’s beginning.

The statue took one step forward, and directly from its mouth came a Dao-cry that shook the stars and constellations into showering descent. The Great Dao lamented, rising and falling beneath its feet, as every single Dao edict trembled.

This divine statue was itself composed of talismanic script, meeting the ancient characters sent out by the Samsara Supreme stroke for stroke, character for character. First came the collision โ€” the light they produced struck dozens of star domains and radiated outward through the universe.

Then came merciless obliteration. The statue shattered the Samsara Supreme’s cursed characters โ€” one talisman after another detonating in the void.

Finally, the divine statue surged forward and let out a world-shaking roar: “Time passes!”

Its entire form nearly pressed down upon the Samsara Supreme. Clearly visible, the river of time came surging and rushing โ€” and beneath the erosion of the ages, the Samsara Supreme swayed on the verge of collapse, nearly detonating, as time ground him down.

This was the power of the river of time!

His physical form nearly crumbled to dust โ€” like an ancient stone that had stood through ten thousand ages, at last unable to hold on, on the verge of total collapse, approaching the final end of life.

“Open!”

The Samsara Supreme let out a great cry, and from the crown of his head a surge of essence blood rushed out, washing over his body, dispersing all the laws and the last phantom image of the divine statue. He struggled forward with great difficulty, stumbling and staggering his way through.

This time, he had suffered yet another devastating blow!

This was astounding โ€” not Wushi returned to life, merely a scripture โ€” yet it could achieve all this. It defied all comprehension!

Without question, every single scripture verse inscribed within this ancient book could be deployed through Emperor blood โ€” this was the trump card Great Emperor Wushi had left behind.

Though he was now beyond the reach of making any further interventions, this immortal scripture was truly powerful, carrying the strength he had possessed in life.

In this moment, understanding dawned on Ye Fan. No wonder this stone scripture had been impossible to open in the past โ€” it had sealed Great Emperor Wushi’s methods of offensive combat. One could not simply browse through it at will, for doing so directly might result in being shattered to dust.

This outcome, though astonishing, was naturally not enough to make ancient supreme beings flinch. They pressed forward together in attack. But this place held more than just Ye Fan โ€” there were also numerous Emperor weapons, and the presence of the Void and the Eternal Universe.

The Heaven-Forsaking Supreme spat great mouthfuls of blood, restrained by the Void Great Emperor and nearly cleaved apart on the spot. The Stone Emperor’s Heaven-Desolation Great Halberd came crashing down, utterly shattering that space and allowing him to break free.

From this point on, the entire area plunged into a chaotic melee. No one could afford to underestimate the Void or the Eternal Universe โ€” even with their incomplete Imperial Dao paths, even though they were no longer the Great Emperors of former times, they still brought the same crushing pressure to bear.

And the offensive power of the scripture in Ye Fan’s hand was genuinely formidable โ€” the others feared it greatly. It preserved Great Emperor Wushi’s laws from his lifetime, manifesting them as if he himself were unleashing them.

Even ancient supreme beings were unwilling to recklessly trade blows. These were the terrifying edicts of a peak Great Emperor โ€” the Samsara Sovereign and the Light-Dark Supreme had both already suffered greatly.

They could not understand how Wushi had managed to accomplish it. Every single page of the scripture was a different form of offensive assault โ€” truly defying all comprehension, beyond anyone’s understanding.

It could not be as simple as Emperor blood as the catalyst alone. That stone scripture must have been branded with Wushi’s indestructible imprint, and must contain a Dao fruit that transcended the mortal world โ€” otherwise, how could it be like this?

Rustle, rustle, rustle…

The stone scripture continued to turn its pages, sending one law after another flying forth. Ye Fan locked onto a single target and concentrated all force on the Samsara Supreme โ€” he wanted to channel all power into striking a lethal blow against him.

For he knew: the opportunity was truly limited. In his left hand, the treasure vial’s blood was being consumed rapidly. The fragments of the Great Dao contained within Emperor blood were the fundamental driving force behind the Wushi Scripture.

“Kill!” Ye Fan roared. Watching the blood diminish with every passing moment, he grew increasingly anxious, preparing to act at any cost โ€” the Green Copper Cauldron ready to be hurled at any moment.

Pfft!

The Samsara Supreme spat great mouthfuls of blood, goaded to the point of shame-turning-to-rage. An insignificant insect dared to fight him like this, endlessly without pause โ€” unable to snuff him out in an instant, this day had piled humiliation upon humiliation.

Yet he truly could not press forward. There was no way to break through the Wushi Scripture โ€” this was power that had never been self-severed, and though worn by the passage of ages, it still launched offensive strikes that sent him crashing horizontally through the air time after time, nearly killing him on the spot.

Especially at the last โ€” when the scripture turned to its forbidden chapters, and Wushi’s origin secret technique emerged, it struck the Samsara Supreme’s every aspect back to the very beginning, nearly stripping away a portion of his cultivation.

“What?!” This left everyone shaken.

“You have made me furious!” the Samsara Supreme howled โ€” and the words were not directed at Ye Fan, but at the Void from before, and now at the Wushi Scripture. His voice shook the mountains and rivers.

“Oh, you’re furious? Then die!” Ye Fan shouted back. The immortal edicts emanating from the Wushi Scripture in his hand grew even more terrifying โ€” one strike of “Wushi,” deployed again and again, sent the charging Samsara Supreme shaking throughout his entire body, blood spraying in all directions.

It even nearly shattered his immortal platform directly โ€” this was chilling to behold. A single scripture, with sealed laws of such extraordinary power.

Boom!

The Void charged forward in deadly earnest, striking with all force, sparing no cost โ€” intent on cutting down the Samsara Sovereign. He endured a strike from the Stone Emperor’s halberd head-on, leaving his back soaked in blood.

“Ahh…”

The Samsara Sovereign cried out, suffering catastrophic wounds. The Void Immortal Mirror pressed down in suppression, its direct illumination causing his body to fracture throughout, nearly detonating him.

At the same time, the Void Great Emperor’s palm swept down, nearly severing the Samsara Sovereign’s head from his neck โ€” connected only by a thin layer of bloody skin, barely holding on.

Boom!

The Master of the Divine Ruins charged in. The Light-Dark Supreme followed in pursuit. The Eternal Universe moved to provide support. The Stone Emperor cut across to block them. The Heaven-Forsaking Supreme came crashing through.

This place was blown apart โ€” plunged into utter boiling chaos. The Samsara Supreme stood at the very center of the maelstrom of attacks, suffering damage beyond what could be endured. That skull finally tumbled downward.

The Void Great Emperor’s expression remained blank. A palm reached out to press forward.

Ye Fan also did not stop, pressing in relentlessly, the Wushi Scripture in his hand blazing with infinite light that poured down and swept across the Samsara Supreme’s body.

“No!”

The Samsara Sovereign let out a great roar. Head and torso were separated โ€” Great Emperor Wushi’s secret technique and the hand of the Void Great Emperor came pressing down together, scattering his very soul in terror. He was a supreme being. He had lived through ten thousand ages. He was unrivaled under heaven. And yet in this moment, even he tasted the breath of death.

Never once โ€” not even once โ€” had he trembled like this. He had slaughtered his way to the supreme position of Emperor along the Imperial Dao, never having experienced such despair. All the way up he had swept everything before him, fighting his way to the position of Great Emperor.

But today, he felt that calamity had arrived โ€” that he was about to perish, that he could not withstand this secret technique.

“You have forced me to this!”

He let out a furious howl, and that skull blazed with light โ€” erupting with a world-shaking Aura of Power that shook the entire universe!

“A true Great Emperor has emerged into the world!”

“Fully exhausting transcendence โ€” to return to the Emperor’s throne!”

All living beings in the universe despaired. The several ancient supreme beings, by contrast, wore expressions of indeterminate meaning and all stepped back. As for Ye Fan and the Void, they stood in the direct path, about to face a truly revived Great Emperor.

That skull blazed with light, ten thousand auspicious colors cascading forth, drawing the torso toward it. The Samsara Sovereign threw all consequences to the wind, seeking to recover to his absolute pinnacle so as to slaughter his enemies โ€” even knowing he himself would die afterward.

“You cannot return!” the Void spoke. From within his body flew out boundless chains of order โ€” his accumulated cultivation and his essence of spirit and energy! An endless radiance poured forth, manifesting as a mysterious formation that pressed downward, sealing off heaven and earth, nearly severing the Samsara Sovereign outright.

Boom!

It was in this moment that Ye Fan acted. Eyes wide with determination, knowing full well the consequence to the Void Great Emperor of doing this โ€” that afterward, the Void himself would be crippled and would die โ€” he poured Wushi’s blood over the Green Copper Cauldron, then hurled it forward with everything he had.

The Void Great Emperor understood. He too channeled a surge of power into the Green Copper Cauldron โ€” shocking the several supreme beings into rapidly retreating, abandoning the Samsara Sovereign.

Boom!

The Green Copper Cauldron collided directly with the Samsara Sovereign’s brilliant skull โ€” and it exploded!
