Chapter 925: A Scholar’s Heart Can Feel Blocked Up Too

Seeing Ziqing’s slightly reddened cheeks, and then Jun Beiyue’s already darkening expression, Baili Weisheng seemed thoroughly delighted, teasing, “Little Qingqing, you seem quite upset… how about I wait a moment while you two carry on?”

As he said this, he actually sat himself down nearby.

Seem?

He clearly was doing it, and quite deliberately at that.

Ziqing couldn’t help but take a deep breath. She had never understood why, of all people, she was never quite immune to this insufferable scholar. He could infuriate her with such ease, and she always ended up locking horns with him.

Ziqing was about to speak when Jun Beiyue beat her to it. His expression flat, he replied with a low, deliberate “Mm.” “Then you can wait a moment.”

With that, he pulled Ziqing close, turning her to face him. At first, Ziqing thought Jun Beiyue was simply putting on a show — but the moment she met his gaze, deep as the ocean, tender as flowing water, her heart skipped a sudden, unmistakable beat!

This man — he was serious.

What was he planning?

Before Ziqing could even recover from the tenderness in his eyes, Jun Beiyue had already lowered his head toward her face, his cool nose suddenly brushing against her cheek, sending her heart racing out of control!

And that wasn’t all — soon, his breath washed over her face as well, warm and faintly heated.

What was this man trying to do?

Even when the two of them were alone, she could rarely stay composed in the face of his fierce, domineering affection. Let alone now, with someone else sitting right there!

As Jun Beiyue drew closer, Ziqing’s heart pounded faster and faster, as though this were their very first encounter all over again, the racing sensation impossible to control.

And Baili Weisheng, sitting nearby, made no move to look away at all. Though his face was somewhat pale, his spirit remained lively. He leaned forward slightly, eyes wide, watching with genuine curiosity!

Catching a glimpse of Baili Weisheng’s deliberately curious expression from the corner of her eye, Ziqing’s face burned with mortification, her small hand pressed against Jun Beiyue’s chest instinctively pushing him away.

Ziqing wasn’t the only one who noticed Baili Weisheng’s reaction — every move he made was well within Jun Beiyue’s peripheral vision. But Jun Beiyue didn’t mind him watching in the least.

This insufferable scholar dared to provoke him and Ziqing? If he wanted to wait and watch, then let him wait. Jun Beiyue had always doted on Ziqing openly, without shame, never afraid of anyone watching.

Jun Beiyue’s lips curved into a wicked, teasing smile. The arm around Ziqing’s waist suddenly tightened, pulling her closer, pressing her flush against his body.

Ziqing froze. Such an intimate gesture, such a familiar closeness — she knew all too well exactly what Jun Beiyue intended to do next!

Surely he wouldn’t be this brazen, this indifferent to their audience!

Seeing Ziqing’s nervous expression, the doting look in Jun Beiyue’s eyes only deepened. He tilted his head with playful amusement, his captivating gaze fixed intently on Ziqing, slowly dropping from her eyes down to her lips.

Ziqing knew that look all too well. She knew exactly what was coming next, and couldn’t help but murmur, “Beiyue…”

But before the word had even fully left her mouth, Jun Beiyue’s sensual lips descended and covered hers, sealing her sweet mouth completely.

“Mm…”

Ziqing gasped in surprise, her eyes widening as she instinctively glanced toward Baili Weisheng to her right — but in the very next instant, Jun Beiyue’s hand cupped her shoulder while the other supported the back of her head, deepening the kiss, pressing down further!

This kiss deepened instantly, fierce and possessive, capturing her lips fully, sucking and savoring, boldly parting her teeth to claim her tongue!

It was as fierce and overwhelming as a raging storm, leaving Ziqing utterly defenseless, no longer caring whether anyone else was watching, instinctively tilting her head back to yield to Jun Beiyue’s fierce affection, feeling as though her entire body might melt into his embrace. If he hadn’t been supporting her, she might genuinely have been kissed into a daze.

Heavens, how could there exist such a domineering man in this world? How could a kiss be this exquisite?

And she found herself, to her own surprise, growing addicted to this domineering passion. Amid the fierce, tangled press of lips and tongues, she found herself worrying he might let go too soon.

Jun Beiyue’s dominance, Ziqing’s soft yielding, the fierce intensity mixed with tender lingering — Baili Weisheng sat right there, barely five steps away, witnessing everything with perfect clarity. Jun Beiyue’s possessive dominance, Ziqing’s helpless surrender — he saw it all, clearly.

He truly was audacious enough to tease both Jun Beiyue and Ziqing — he just hadn’t expected Jun Beiyue to go quite this far.

This was, in truth, a contest between two men. He’d believed he would win — he’d kept watching the whole time, thinking that as long as he outlasted them, he would win, and could keep teasing them both afterward.

But for some reason, though he’d found it amusing at first, the longer he watched, something in his chest suddenly began to ache.

Perhaps “ache” wasn’t quite the right word — it was more of a bittersweet, sour feeling, deeply uncomfortable.

He wasn’t entirely sure what this feeling even was. Instinctively, he turned his head away, no longer wanting to watch.

His heart felt heavy, stifled, uncomfortable — as though he needed to do something about it, though he hadn’t fully worked out what. But before he could think it through, the words tumbled out anyway. “Hey, hey, hey! That’s enough from you two, I surrender, all right?”

He added a long, exaggerated sigh for good measure. “The young people these days… honestly…”

But even with Baili Weisheng’s surrender, Jun Beiyue showed no sign of stopping. The kiss only grew more heated, deeper still, his body pressing down further until Ziqing found herself nearly tilted backward, on the verge of lying flat.

Seeing this, Baili Weisheng finally couldn’t stay seated any longer. He leapt to his feet — but the moment he did, a wave of dizziness struck him. He ignored it entirely, shouting loudly, “Jun Beiyue, enough, enough! I get it, you two are madly in love, all right! I’ve got something important to ask Han Ziqing!”

At these words, Jun Beiyue finally stopped, planting a few more lingering pecks before he was willing to release Ziqing.

In certain ways, Ziqing certainly lacked Jun Beiyue’s easy composure. Her face still flushed crimson from the kiss, her lips slightly swollen, she buried her face against his broad chest, not daring to meet Baili Weisheng’s eyes.

Seen this way, she truly looked every bit the pampered little woman, cherished and doted on.

“What is it?” Jun Beiyue asked, raising an eyebrow, clearly in excellent spirits.

Baili Weisheng rolled his eyes at him and turned to Ziqing instead. “Your son’s constitution is bizarre. What exactly is going on with him?”

At these words, Ziqing pulled herself free from Jun Beiyue’s arms. “What do you mean?”

“I just examined your son’s body. His blood is human-gu blood — genuinely immune to all poisons. But he’s not actually a human-gu. Everything else about him is perfectly normal. That’s what’s so strange about it — this shouldn’t be possible for someone of Lone Island bloodline!” Baili Weisheng said, growing serious. Having expended so much blood and strength opening the seal on the Poison Beast World, his entire body felt drained and weak. He should have been resting properly, but Xiong Bao’s condition had piqued his curiosity too much to let it go.
