The four great sea serpents against Jun Beiyue, Ziqing, and Baili Weisheng — these three were among the finest of experts!
Jun Beiyue moved like thunder and lightning, striking without any fixed form yet superior to all forms — his figure flashed sharp as a sword’s edge, as swift as lightning, his blade rising and falling with ruthless precision. Ziqing wielded her zither-blade Wuzheng, unleashing wind blades one after another, each surging with tremendous force, converging into a rain of cutting wind. As for Baili Weisheng, his slender, pale hands curled into razor-sharp claws — every strike landing with absolute precision, “shhk—” tearing five bloody gashes across the serpent’s slick scales, the crimson blood turning black and scorched in mere moments!
But these four sea serpents had lived for several hundred years — formidable and highly intelligent beasts. No matter where they were wounded, they could easily discard that segment of their body, and moments later their bodies would seemingly merge back together like two streams of black water reuniting!
Ziqing’s side had only three fighters, while the serpents numbered four — inevitably there were moments they couldn’t cover every angle. The battle between humans and serpents dragged on, neither side able to gain a decisive edge, and soon the waters surrounding Liuxian Island’s main island turned into a scene of pure carnage.
“Aim for their heads!” Ziqing shouted. Helplessly, both Jun Beiyue and Baili Weisheng already knew this was the serpents’ greatest weakness — but unfortunately, several attempts had all failed.
The serpents’ bodies seemed endlessly long, and remarkably agile, able to extend and retract at will. Ziqing and the others fought desperately while also having to stay constantly wary of the serpents’ tails!
After all, once a serpent’s tail lashed out, the sheer force behind it was something even the finest martial artist couldn’t withstand!
Raw strength — this was something mere mortals could never match against beasts!
Little Xiong Bao and Baili Xiaosheng had initially had great confidence in the adults, but after the chaos dragged on so long without either side gaining the upper hand, both children grew increasingly anxious, wanting desperately to help, yet fearing they’d only get in the way!
Just then, one of the serpent tails suddenly whipped up from a completely unguarded angle, and lashed straight at Ziqing with brutal force!
“Mommy, watch out!” Xiong Bao screamed in terror, and heedless of everything, leapt onto the suddenly enlarged Zizhu Beast, ready to rush to her rescue!
Fortunately, Baili Xiaosheng quickly held him back. “You can’t! If the sea serpents get further agitated, it will surely draw the attention of the Jiao Clan — the poison beasts must not appear!”
Xiong Bao paid her no mind at first, still rushing forward, but when he saw his father catch his mother and dodge the tail, he finally calmed down.
But in the very next instant, three more serpent tails suddenly appeared from three different directions, all lashing toward Jun Beiyue and Ziqing at once!
Goodness!
Those serpent tails lashing through the air were like divine whips cracking down from the heavens — nearly impossible to dodge!
Seeing this, even Baili Xiaosheng froze in terror, her confidence in Ziqing and the others suddenly shaken!
Three serpent heads had Ziqing and Jun Beiyue completely surrounded, and three serpent tails were closing in from different directions — the situation had turned extremely dire!
Baili Weisheng abandoned all caution and rushed forward to help, but just as he moved, the fourth serpent tail suddenly appeared right behind him!
“Master! Watch out!”
Baili Xiaosheng, even less composed than Xiong Bao, screamed wildly, the words tumbling out before she could stop them: “Zizhu Beast, go save them, quick!”
But the Zizhu Beast wasn’t some impulsive child — it knew perfectly well that if it intervened and killed the four great sea serpents, it would surely draw the attention of the Jiao Clan in the sea, and worse, such a massive commotion might well catch the attention of clan members from other nearby islands surrounding the isolated island.
Not only could it not step in to help, it needed to hide itself even more carefully.
Watching the two children, both equally frantic and out of control as the sea serpents themselves, the Zizhu Beast immediately shrank itself smaller and slipped away — if it didn’t flee now, it would surely end up being flung into the fray by these two little terrors!
Sure enough, little Xiong Bao had already reached out to grab it, only to find his hands closing on empty air!
“Damn it!” he cursed, staring up at the sky. The attack just now had barely been dodged by his parents — but the real danger was only just beginning!
The sea serpents truly were formidable — worthy of being called divine whips!
All four serpents, all four heads, all four tails, suddenly lashed out together, like eight whips falling from the sky, cracking down mercilessly toward Ziqing and the others!
None of them had anticipated the serpents would form this kind of formation — in an instant, all three fighters were trapped dead center, while the encircling ring of “whips” continued closing in!
This was a deliberate pincer, closing in on them!
Seeing this, little Xiong Bao’s fists clenched tight, his eyes flushing red, his expression turning distinctly wrong — but just then, a cry of disbelief from the Dream Clan leader nearby snapped him back to his senses.
“How can this be!”
The Dream Clan leader, Old Meng Five, and Meng Duo’er had already been standing there for quite some time. The moment they’d stepped out of the Xuyu Tower’s barrier and seen the scene of carnage and chaos before them, they’d all been struck utterly speechless.
It was only just now that the old Dream Clan leader had cried out in shock.
Only two days, and it felt like Liuxian Island’s main island was about to be destroyed!
The sea serpents’ massive bodies had been knocked flying, crashing violently into the island’s mountains, collapsing an entire peak in an instant. Blood sprayed from the serpents’ enormous wounds like rain — the whole of Xuyu Peak looked as though it had been drenched in a downpour of blood, stained crimson everywhere.
The moment the Dream Clan leader stepped outside, he nearly thought he’d taken a wrong turn and wandered into an entirely different barrier realm!
Only then did Baili Xiaosheng and little Xiong Bao notice that the Dream Clan leader and the others had emerged. To everyone’s surprise, both children’s first reaction was identical — their eyes simultaneously locked onto the Qiankun Poison Pouch in the Dream Clan leader’s hands, gleaming with excitement!
Salvation!
If the Qiankun Poison Pouch could be opened, then surely there was hope — wasn’t there?
The Qiankun Poison Pouch could easily contain all four sea serpents!
But the Dream Clan leader and the others were too stunned to notice, their full attention fixed on Ziqing and the others still locked in battle with the serpents overhead — completely missing the gleam in the two children’s eyes.
Suddenly — “Whoosh…”
Something seemed to be plummeting down from far above. The Dream Clan leader, Old Meng Five, and Meng Duo’er all looked up at the sound, and saw an enormous black shadow falling from the sky.
What was that?
A dark, massive shape — too high up to make out clearly. The three of them stared and stared, until suddenly Meng Duo’er, with her sharp eyes, made out what it was — it wasn’t a shadow at all, it was…
“Get out of the way, quick!” she cried out in alarm, immediately shoving the Dream Clan leader and Old Meng Five aside — but it was entirely useless.
“CRASH—”
A tremendous, thunderous crash rang out as an enormous, glistening black segment of serpent body slammed down from above — impossibly massive — crushing all three of them beneath it!
In that very instant, the Dream Clan leader, caught off guard, dropped the Qiankun Poison Pouch entirely!
Little Xiong Bao’s eyes lit up in a flash! He shot forward like an arrow and caught it with one hand!
The Dream Clan leader and the others possessed extraordinarily powerful sealing techniques — but unfortunately, they lacked the ability to instantly conjure a barrier strong enough to contain something of this magnitude!
For three people who relied entirely on hand-to-hand combat with barely any internal cultivation to speak of, it had to be admitted — this massive segment of serpent body was truly an unbearable weight, one that threatened their very lives!
“Help…”
“Someone save the old man, quick!”
“Help me… ahh…”
…
Under the crushing weight, their spines were nearly giving way — fortunately it had fallen across their backs, or the consequences of having their internal organs crushed entirely would have been unthinkable. Even the Dream Clan leader couldn’t help but cry out, “Help… someone help…”
Unfortunately, the two children had no attention to spare for them.
Little Xiong Bao gripped the Qiankun Poison Pouch tightly, glanced at Baili Xiaosheng, and seeing her nod, he steeled his resolve and immediately yanked the Qiankun Poison Pouch wide open. “Get in there!”
