Hello everyone:
Thank you for accompanying this book all along—it’s been 4 months before we knew it. From Valentine’s Day in February, when Yin Feng and You Mingxu first met in Tibet, to Gu Tiancheng’s appearance, then to the campus exchange murders where the two grew closer in their confusion; from investigating the campus loan case, tracking down killers from the Fenjin Bao Company to the City Craftsman, Fan Jia’s sacrifice, Chen Zhaoci’s death, and Gu Tiancheng’s return. Then Yin Feng regained his memories—a moment of satisfaction in tormenting his wife turned into desperate pursuit; then the drug enforcement case, Luo Yu’s thousand-mile ambush, the showdown between drug lords, the Punisher organization, and the police, Luo Yu’s sacrifice, Jing Ping’s exit, and finally You Mingxu and Yin Feng’s happy ending…
And now in the final volume, with the apprentice killer’s return and Yin Feng being framed as the mastermind… “When I’m Guilty” has been like a fragrant bowl of noodles that everyone has nearly finished—just a few last slurps and a final drink of the hot soup remaining.
However, due to subject matter considerations, the ending needs to be adjusted. After discussing with my editor, I’ve confirmed that I cannot make these adjustments without changing the main plot. Therefore:
1. The story will pause updates starting tomorrow. I will likely create a new ending outline starting from when Yin Feng was wrongly accused and left the hospital, completely rewriting all content after that point.
2. Starting today, chapters after 317 will be temporarily locked or hidden. Readers who have already purchased these chapters shouldn’t worry—you won’t have wasted your money. Once the new ending is written, it will replace the current content with the same word count.
This is challenging work, so it will take some time, and I can’t specify exactly how long. To ensure both quality and compliance with requirements, I believe it’s better to complete the entire ending before releasing it. I hope you won’t be impatient, upset, or complainant. Everyone involved, including myself, wants this book to be better.
I’m truly grateful for everyone’s support of this book, including readers from QQ Reading, WeChat Reading, Starting Point Reading, Red Sleeve Reading, and other apps. This book is my heart’s blood, and like you, I want to see an ending that lives up to everything that came before.
When it’s complete and ready for release, I’ll post announcements everywhere. I’m truly sorry, and thank you everyone!

Zhi Ye Mini-Scene “The Soup”
Xu Xunsheng loves making soup, and Cen Ye loves drinking her soups.
Whenever she has time, Xu Xunsheng always has a pot simmering at home. They drink it slowly together, sometimes inviting Tanzi and others over for meals. But what makes Cen Ye happiest is when he’s at the company or other work locations, and Xu Xunsheng sends soup with her assistant.
Whether everyone’s eating boxed lunches or having fancy meals with business partners, Cen Ye always asks his assistant, “Where’s the soup?” When the thermos arrives, facing curious looks from around the table, he removes the lid and stirs it a couple of times.
Xu Xunsheng’s soups are always crystal clear yet incredibly fragrant. Both appearance and taste are exceptional. People often praise: “Teacher Cen brought his private chef’s soup, it smells wonderful.” “Indeed, it looks sophisticated. Must be very nutritious—what’s in it?”
Cen Ye glances down at the thermos and answers, “Oh, pork rib soup with radish.”
While others struggle to respond to such a humble, ordinary soup, Cen Ye takes a sip, feeling it warm him from his throat to his heart.
