Vol 1 – Chapter 60: I’ll Take You

Before doing his homework, Teng Hao needed to practice dancing first. Ruan Yu sat on the practice room floor, leaning against the mirror, studying vocabulary while waiting for him.

Dancing practice itself was a tedious and exhausting process, especially when learning the basics and fundamentals. But as the saying goes, a tall building rises from the ground up – without a stable foundation, even the tallest building would be as weak as tofu construction.

Teng Hao didn’t understand this principle before and lacked patience. However, after being taught by Teng Yi, he had completely changed his mindset. Recently, when learning new moves, he no longer rushed for quick results but instead practiced steadily and gradually.

Ruan Yu memorized one word, glanced at Teng Hao, memorized another word, glanced at Teng Hao again…

Both were experiencing their monotonous processes.

Finally, Teng Hao was drenched in sweat.

He took off his school uniform, wiped his face with it, and sat down beside her.

The young man wore only a tank top, his body radiating heat like a furnace. Even without touching him, one could feel his temperature.

“Don’t take off your clothes, you’ll catch a cold,” Ruan Yu reminded him.

“No worries, I’m not a weakling.”

“Who are you calling names?”

“Whoever’s weak, that’s who.”

Ruan Yu rolled her eyes, not bothering to argue further.

Teng Hao grinned as if he’d gotten away with something.

After sitting quietly for a while, Teng Hao’s body heat dissipated, and he reached for his discarded uniform.

Though only seventeen and not yet an adult, Teng Hao’s muscles already showed a beautiful definition. Compared to ordinary students, street dancing had trained both his will and his body.

Ruan Yu watched Teng Hao in the mirror opposite them. Noticing her gaze, he flexed his arm muscles while putting on his clothes, showing off.

“Isn’t your little master pretty cool?”

Ruan Yu let out a soft “hmph,” thinking that no matter how cool he was, he wasn’t as cool as his brother.

Teng Hao thought the same.

“Yeah, I’m nowhere near as good as my brother.”

“At least you know your place.”

“What do you mean?” Teng Hao turned his head, “Have you seen my brother’s muscles?”

Ruan Yu almost choked on her saliva, holding back a cough as her face instantly turned red.

“No way? You have?”

“When is your brother’s competition?” Ruan Yu caught her breath, changing the subject.

Teng Hao was quite simple-minded; when she changed the topic, his thoughts naturally followed.

“Next Wednesday.”

“Can I go watch?”

“You want to watch?”

Before Ruan Yu could answer, footsteps echoed in the corridor, and a tall figure passed by the door.

“Brother!” Teng Hao called out.

The person stepped back, leaning back to look into the room.

“What is it?” It was Teng Yi.

“Brother, Top Scholar says she wants to watch your competition.”

Ruan Yu wanted to strangle him – when had she said that?

Teng Yi turned his gaze to Ruan Yu beside Teng Hao. They were both sitting on the floor; Teng Hao slouched in his oversized uniform without proper posture, while she sat cross-legged with a book in hand, looking very well-behaved. Perhaps it was the practice room’s lighting, but her complexion looked particularly good today.

“I… no, I was just asking,” she tried to explain, but her explanation was so vague it seemed to confirm Teng Hao’s words.

“You want to go?” Teng Yi looked at her quietly.

Ruan Yu was momentarily silent.

“You don’t want to go?”

Ruan Yu immediately shook her head.

“If you don’t want to go, that’s fine,” Teng Yi said, turning away.

“No, I want to go!” Ruan Yu called out.

Teng Yi turned back, and she saw his amused expression, finally realizing he was teasing her again.

“Alright, I’ll take you.”
