Chapter 492: The Mad Woman

There was a sudden burst of violent smashing and crashing.

The television in the house, bowls, chopsticks, plates, and dishes on the table—nothing was spared.

“What are you doing!” Wang Guangping commanded with his typical leader’s authority, and his seriousness was usually enough to intimidate most people.

But the woman leading the destruction had rage in her eyes. She clutched a newspaper with a photo that looked exactly like Wang Jianhua they hadn’t come to the wrong place. Ran Shuyu’s heart raced; were they here to arrest them again?

A plate shattered on the ground, and a flying shard of glass cut across Xia Ziyu’s cheek.

She screamed in terror, “Jianhua!”

Ran Shuyu was also hiding behind Wang Jianhua, and hearing his girlfriend’s scream, Wang Jianhua rushed over to protect her.

“Who are you? We can talk this through properly. I am Wang Jianhua!”

Wang Jianhua couldn’t protect all three people by himself. Xia Ziyu felt her cheek burning; when she touched it, her hand came away bloody. She didn’t know how deep the cut was, and her heart sank to the bottom of her stomach. Wang Guangping and Ran Shuyu had often suffered humiliation at the farm, but they never expected that even after being reinstated, people would track them down at home and vandalize their property.

The neighbors maintained a deathlike silence.

The Wang family had just moved in, and no one wanted to rashly intervene, all holding their breath while listening to the commotion from the Wang household.

Wang Guangping angrily tried to grab the club but was violently pushed back. Wang Jianhua, finally unable to tolerate it anymore, started fighting back!

But the intruders had come prepared, and knowing he was Wang Jianhua, they called for their accomplices to hit him hard… Xia Ziyu’s hands and feet went weak as she recognized the woman leading the attack—it was He Jia’s mother from the tutoring class, that troublesome, difficult woman.

“Stop, all of you stop! Mrs. He, what are you doing?”

Jia’s mother had been focused solely on Wang Jianhua until now, finally noticing Xia Ziyu.

Seeing her was perfect timing—she grabbed Xia Ziyu by the hair and yanked her over: “Here’s another one who slipped through! You can’t complain if I beat you up today too!”

He Jia’s mother’s grip was too strong; Xia Ziyu couldn’t break free. She called for help, but Wang Jianhua could barely protect himself.

Ran Shuyu tried to break up the fight but got hit several times. The Wang couple couldn’t spare any attention for Xia Ziyu at this point. This disaster had truly fallen from the sky, and Wang Guangping was so angry his blood vessels nearly burst.

“Shuyu, call the police station, tell them there’s a mad woman here!”

Ran Shuyu finally remembered to report it. Indeed, wasn’t she just a mad woman, coming in to smash things?

He Jia’s mother had pulled out a large chunk of Xia Ziyu’s hair. “Fine, if you want your son to go to jail, go ahead and report it!”

He Jia’s mother was intimidating, and no one knew her background.

Xia Ziyu didn’t understand the situation either, but she vaguely recalled that the tutoring class teacher had mentioned He Jia hadn’t come to class this week.

Had something happened to He Jia?!

“Mrs. He, let me explain—”

“Explain? I sent my daughter to your tutoring class, what did you guarantee? Well, you ran this tutoring class just for reputation, just to make money. Today I’m going to beat you two shameless things to death!”

Guarantee?

They had guaranteed improved academic performance!

Xia Ziyu felt humiliated and angry. Even if the grades hadn’t improved, at most they could refund the tutoring fees. How could this justify breaking in, vandalizing, and beating people?

“Auntie, quickly call the police station. She’s just being unreasonable!”

Xia Ziyu’s entire body ached.

She had never been this disheveled before. He Jia’s mother was acting like a shrew, giving her a thorough beating.

Xia Ziyu feared her face would be disfigured. She just wanted to get these people out quickly so she could go to the hospital to check her face.

But Wang Guangping caught something else in what was said.

They came because of the tutoring class.

What had happened at the tutoring class?

This was an even more serious issue than Wang Jianhua and Xia Ziyu getting beaten up.

During his years at the farm, if Wang Guangping hadn’t learned anything else, his patience had certainly improved!

Being beaten or not wasn’t the primary concern now; they needed to understand what was going on.

He Jia’s mother paid him no attention, first smashing everything in the Wang household to pieces, beating Wang Jianhua until he collapsed on the ground, leaving Xia Ziyu’s face covered in blood, before forcefully stepping on the newspaper with Wang Jianhua’s photo:

“An advanced model of contemporary college students? Bah! You all wait outside, I’ve beaten him, and I’ll make sure his whole family has nothing to say!”

The people carrying clubs left.

Some neighbors were watching the spectacle, and seeing how badly the Wang family was being bullied, wanted to step in, but someone blocked them with clubs:

“Their son sexually harassed someone’s daughter, do you think they deserve to be beaten or not?”

The Director Wang’s son?

That tall college student who had been in the newspaper these past few days, and had even brought his girlfriend home tonight, had done such a thing outside!

Xia Ziyu was about to go mad with anger.

Wang Jianhua sexually harassing He Jia?

That innocent young girl—how could Wang Jianhua be interested in her!

Xia Ziyu would never believe it, and neither would Wang Guangping and Ran Shuyu. Wang Jianhua himself was completely bewildered. While Xia Ziyu knew He Jia’s mother, Wang Jianhua had only gone to the tutoring class for a photo opportunity, for the newspaper article. Xia Ziyu handled the specific affairs of the tutoring class—he neither knew He Jia nor had any impression of her mother.

He Jia’s mother sneered:

“Your son’s in big trouble now. Education Department leadership? Let’s see how you suppress this scandal!”

He Jia’s mother truly despised this tutoring class.

Seeing Wang Jianhua in the newspaper had infuriated her even more.

The tutoring class had too many problems and didn’t care about the students at all. It turned out someone was using it as a stepping stone for promotion, and with Xia Ziyu in the Wang household, it proved the He family’s suspicions weren’t wrong. He Jia’s father couldn’t show up himself—if he did, they couldn’t resort to violence, and the He family wouldn’t be able to vent their anger.

But He Jia’s mother, being a woman, had no such concerns.

Wang Guangping kept a stern face. The other party knew his position yet still dared to act this way—what gave them such confidence?

Ran Shuyu didn’t dare call the police station; He Jia’s mother’s tone was too certain.

Xia Ziyu held her face, enduring the pain while defending her boyfriend: “You’re talking nonsense. Jianhua would never do such a thing. Even if something happened to your daughter… it has nothing to do with Jianhua.”

Whenever Wang Jianhua went to the tutoring class, Xia Ziyu had accompanied him almost every time.

Even if Wang Jianhua had such desires, she wasn’t… In any case, Xia Ziyu didn’t believe it.

Who had instigated He Jia’s mother to cause this trouble?

Xia Ziyu’s thoughts aligned with Wang Guangping’s, though Wang Guangping suspected political enemies while Xia Ziyu suspected Xia Xiaolan—Wang Jianhua had just visited Xia Xiaolan yesterday, and today someone came to beat them up. This method indeed seemed like something Xia Xiaolan would do.

Wang Jianhua naturally swore he had never touched He Jia.

This was the first time he’d even heard the name!

“Never touched her? My daughter is pregnant now, and I’m going to file a case at the police station right away, charging you with rape!”

Two students having a forbidden relationship wouldn’t hurt the tutoring class, but He Jia’s mother was now being unreasonable, determined to pin this on Wang Jianhua.

She was just full of anger with nowhere to vent, and since Xia Ziyu and Wang Jianhua ran this tutoring class, these two wouldn’t get off easily!

Yes, she was just displacing her anger!

Wang Guangping didn’t even know if this was true or false, but if it was real… his son absolutely couldn’t go to the police station. Even if an investigation proved it false, with all the rumors, how could Wang Jianhua have any future with such a reputation!
