Yun Lianqing and Song Chun hadn’t run far when Chu Qing and Rong Min caught up to them, blocking their path from front and back.
Chu Qing stood before Yun Lianqing, his lips curving into a smile as he clasped his hands together, “Prince Yun, I trust you’ve been well.”
Yun Lianqing glanced at Chu Qing, noticing the not-yet-dried bloodstains at the hem of his robe. He clenched his fists tightly and composed himself.
“So it’s Prince Chen. Meeting you here is truly fate,” Yun Lianqing said, his almond eyes filled with harmless-looking smiles.
Truth be told, if he hadn’t discovered earlier that Chu Qing was unreliable, he might have been helping him today.
“Indeed. Why is Prince Yun appearing here?” Chu Qing asked knowingly, his eyes inscrutable.
“Just touring around Northern Ming casually and happened to come here,” Yun Lianqing lied blatantly.
Xiu Mei hadn’t yet returned with reinforcements, so he could only stall for time, or else he would surely die at this man’s hands.
“Is that so…” Chu Qing drawled, his gaze leisurely shifting to Song Chun beside Yun Lianqing.
…
…
“Well, isn’t this Chu Li’s guard? How did you end up with Prince Yun?” Chu Qing asked.
Yun Lianqing smiled faintly, “We met on the road. I suppose Prince Chen and Prince Han of Eastern Lin also met by chance?”
“Correct, we also encountered each other by chance,” Chu Qing said as he slowly advanced.
The folding fan in his hand swayed gently as he drew closer to Yun Lianqing.
Yun Lianqing stretched out his hand to block Chu Qing, “Prince Chen, talking is fine, but don’t come so close. Though this Prince may look prettier than a woman, I’m not a woman…”
“Yun Lianqing…” Chu Qing called him by his full name, the smile on his lips slowly fading, “As the crown prince of Southern Court, heaven’s path is open, yet you refuse to take it; hell has no gate, yet you insist on barging in. Do you find your life too long?”
Seeing that Chu Qing had dropped all pretense, Yun Lianqing saw no need to continue with pleasantries, “Chu Qing, as a traitor of Western Yuan with no home or country, from what position do you speak to this Prince in such a manner?”
“Heh…” Chu Qing sneered.
After laughing, he closed his fan and struck at Yun Lianqing.
Chu Qing didn’t use mystical arts, only using his folding fan as a weapon in close combat with Yun Lianqing.
This suited Yun Lianqing’s purpose perfectly. He retreated several steps, constantly dodging Chu Qing’s attacks without counterattacking, to avoid provoking Chu Qing into using his true qi against him.
While Yun Lianqing and Chu Qing fought, Song Chun and Rong Min also began fighting almost simultaneously.
For Song Chun, Rong Min and his group were the culprits who had harmed Zixiang. Although he and Zixiang had never formally married, in his heart he had already accepted her as his wife. This blood debt for killing his wife could not be forgiven!
Thinking of Zixiang, Song Chun’s eyes turned blood-red, and he struck heavily at Rong Min repeatedly.
Rong Min had been affected by thick smoke in the Buddhist shrine earlier, and his throat and eyes still felt burning. After rushing out of the stone door in haste and using his full power several times, he was truly feeling spent.
After making mistakes and being struck hard three times by Song Chun, Rong Min finally became angry. He rubbed his painfully bruised chest, “Damn it, even a servant dares to strike this Prince now!”
With those words, he swept his sleeve, sending true qi flowing from his palm toward Song Chun.
Song Chun had no internal power or lightness skills. Though he instinctively wanted to dodge, there was nowhere to escape.
“Bang…”
After being struck by Rong Min’s palm wind, Song Chun’s body went limp, and he fell sitting on the ground. Although the strike was painful, it was only flesh pain…
It hadn’t damaged his heart or lungs at all…
Song Chun was slightly stunned, raising his eyes to look at Rong Min.
Rong Min’s hand was still extended in mid-air, also stunned for a moment, before quickly looking behind him…
“How fortunate that we arrived just in time…” Huang Yan’s playful voice echoed in the stone chamber as he and Ding Xian stepped toward Song Chun.
“It’s you two.” Rong Min narrowed his eyes, not taking Huang Yan and Ding Xian seriously.
Huang Yan raised an eyebrow, “Who told you there are only two of us?”
After Huang Yan spoke, Rong Min stretched his neck to look behind Huang Yan, but no matter how he looked, there were only two people.
Chu Qing, seeing that two uninvited guests had suddenly arrived, frowned and quickly shook off Yun Lianqing, walking to Rong Min’s side, “This Prince will go to the Tiansheng Continent first. You stay here and find a way to deal with them.”
After speaking, Chu Qing flew away.
Just as Huang Yan was about to chase after him, Rong Min immediately blocked his path and blew a whistle to summon reinforcements.
“I say, Rong Min, has your brain been kicked by a donkey? Chu Qing is using you as a scapegoat, yet you’re still helping him block us?” Huang Yan was utterly exasperated.
Ding Xian stepped forward and patted Huang Yan’s arm, “You go after Chu Qing, I’ll hold them off here.”
Huang Yan nodded.
…
In the Tiansheng Continent.
Black Robe and his group were nearly at their breaking point. As the saying goes, two fists can’t fight four hands. Minister An’s side had twice as many people as they did, and on top of that, they were all injured, making it extremely difficult to fight back. Being able to hold out this long was already fortunate.
On Qiuye’s side, he had already taken countless blows from Wind Immortal Daoist, not only were his footsteps becoming unsteady, but he almost had no strength to fight back.
This Chu Qing, going to get reinforcements, had been gone for over an hour.
Damn it, could they have truly fallen into that brat’s trap?
Just as they were thinking this, a seal suddenly lit up at the entrance of Fengyue Cliff. After the seal opened, Chu Qing’s figure emerged.
Black Robe, Qiuye, and the others felt hope rise, but after watching for a while, they saw that only Chu Qing had come alone.
After entering the Tiansheng Continent, Chu Qing stood at the seal for a moment, seemingly wanting to use his power to close the seal.
But before he could close the seal, another figure came through.
It was Huang Yan.
Only after Huang Yan came out did the seal close.
Seeing that the person Chu Qing brought was Huang Yan, Black Robe and Shen Wanning exchanged a glance, secretly communicating, “This youngster still has dark spirit energy in his body that hasn’t been cleared, we can use it.”
Shen Wanning nodded, immediately flashing to the side, tapping with her fingertip and muttering incantations.
Jiang Qingxue saw that Shen Wanning had suddenly changed tactics, presumably related to the newly arrived Huang Yan. As she was about to go, Shen Wanning suddenly frowned in pain, clutching her abdomen.
Black Robe was the same, also tightly holding his lower abdomen, cold sweat beading on his forehead.
“What’s wrong with you?” Qiuye panicked. During the battle, he had been beaten to the point where his hair was disheveled, his robes torn, looking utterly miserable.
He and Wind Immortal had been evenly matched, but having lost an arm, he was naturally no match for Wind Immortal.
Just as he was thinking this, in a moment of distraction, a flash of fierce light appeared before his eyes as Wind Immortal Daoist struck heavily on his Baihui acupoint…
“Bang…”
Qiuye froze on the spot, his eyes wide open, blood pouring from his mouth in great quantities.
“Wind Immortal… you…” Qiuye felt all the energy in his body drain away in an instant.
“You…” Qiuye held on with his last breath, his hand trembling as he pointed at Wind Immortal Daoist, “All… all these years, do you… know… why Murong… left Wind Cang and refused to marry you?”
Wind Immortal Daoist, originally immersed in joy, seeing that Qiuye was at his end, suddenly lost focus for a moment upon hearing these words.
This was the deepest secret of his heart throughout his life.
It was what he most wanted to know, yet most feared to learn.
Then, Wind Immortal Daoist steeled himself, stepping forward and tightly grabbing Qiuye’s collar, “You know the reason?”
“Of course… I… know…” Qiuye had only said half his words when his eyes revealed a hint of ruthlessness.
Wind Immortal Daoist’s body suddenly trembled.
The surrounding air froze for an instant…
“Hahaha, even… even in death, I’ll… take someone with me…” As Qiuye finished speaking, his entire face was soaked in blood. His body slowly fell backward, eyes wide open, dying without closing his eyes, yet with a smile on his lips.
Wind Immortal Daoist still maintained his standing posture, his eyes hollow and numb, while at his heart, a sharp dagger had pierced through…
“Elder Wind Immortal, how are you?” A group of people all ran over, reaching Wind Immortal Daoist’s side, but not daring to touch him.
Wind Immortal looked at the people gathered around him and laughed lightly, his voice hoarse, “Why… why are you all surrounding me, as if I’m about to die…”
“Elder, you…” Qiqi was about to cry, seeing Wind Immortal Daoist’s face so pale for the first time.
“Wind Immortal, don’t speak anymore, I’ll transfer some true qi to you,” Minister An grasped Wind Immortal Daoist’s shoulders, his tone urgent.
Wind Immortal Daoist slowly reached out and grabbed Minister An’s arm, “Don’t… waste your energy, I was careless…”
After speaking, Wind Immortal Daoist glanced at Qiuye lying at his feet and sighed lightly, “In the end, I was still… still outwitted by this old dog.”
As he finished speaking, Wind Immortal Daoist’s legs suddenly gave way, and he collapsed to the ground. Minister An hurriedly supported him, channeling true qi into Wind Immortal Daoist’s back.
“The sun is so bright, why am I so cold…”
“Tell… tell that naughty girl that I killed Qiuye, and then I left the Tiansheng Continent to travel and enjoy the scenery…”
“Don’t ever tell her that I was also stabbed by Qiuye, she would laugh at me…”
“Kong Shi, ah, we’ll drink together next time, I can’t drink anymore…”
As Wind Immortal Daoist spoke, he felt his eyelids growing heavier, and his hand grasping Minister An’s sleeve gradually loosened.
In the haze, he seemed to see a figure, leaning on a cane, slowly approaching.
Though she had aged, in his eyes, she would forever be that touchingly beautiful woman.
Wind Immortal smiled faintly and gradually closed his eyes…
…
“Ah…!”
“Fu Huan, Si Qing, you both push me to such extremes, I will kill you both!”
Cold Falcon was trapped in a blue-cold light, writhing painfully on the ground, her face contorted as she gnashed her teeth, glaring at Mu Yunjin and Chu Li standing outside the light.
A quarter of an hour earlier, her hand and foot tendons had been severed by Mu Yunjin, and even two of her ribs had been extracted from her abdomen.
“Back then, you did the same to me, severing my tendons, removing my sacred bone, and breaking my spirit root. Now, naturally, you should taste the same flavor,” Mu Yunjin wore a smile on her face, but her eyes held not a trace of joy.
“Huan’er, it’s time to end her life.” Chu Li turned to look at Mu Yunjin, his tone gentle.
Mu Yunjin nodded, but just then, she suddenly felt a pain in her heart. An ominous feeling suddenly spread from the tip of her heart, causing her to instinctively clutch her chest tightly.
“What’s wrong?” Chu Li thought Mu Yunjin was uncomfortable somewhere and showed concern on his face.
Mu Yunjin pressed her lips together, shook her head, and took a breath, “It’s nothing, maybe I’m just being oversensitive…”
