The four had finished recuperating and now needed to return to Heaven’s Mouth immediately.
After all, each of them had sustained injuries. Though not fatal, if they didn’t treat them quickly, the next few days would certainly be unbearable.
Leaving Earth-Tiger’s venue, it took everyone roughly an hour and a half to return to “Heaven’s Mouth.”
Chu Tianqiu, just like yesterday, was standing in the courtyard gazing outward.
“Hey!” Qi Xia called out. “Someone’s injured. Get people to help.”
“Huh?” Chu Tianqiu froze. “Alright… I’ll get people right away.”
In no time at all, five or six people ran out from Heaven’s Mouth and brought the three injured individuals back inside.
Qi Xia spotted Doctor Zhao among them.
“Good thing…” Qi Xia said to Doctor Zhao. “Fortunate you didn’t go out. Quickly help them take a look. Each one has superficial wounds all over.”
“Alright… but I’m not a professional surgeon after all,” Doctor Zhao said with difficulty. “I can only do my best.”
He brought the three to a classroom and gave them a rough examination of their injuries. Supposedly this classroom was specifically prepared for the injured.
From the looks of it, Zhang Shan had the lightest injuries. He appeared covered in blood, but upon examination, there were essentially no injuries at all.
Next was Qiao Jiajin. The skin on both his hands and legs had extensive contusions, looking as if someone had scraped his skin off with a rough stone.
Though this type of wound wasn’t fatal, the injured would experience unimaginable pain.
Li Xiangling was in the worst condition. She had several fractured ribs, plus arm contusions, a sprained left foot, and a not-too-serious penetrating wound on her right bicep. Though none were fatal, she could only rest quietly going forward and was no longer suitable to participate in any games.
After hearing this, Qi Xia nodded. After exchanging a few words with Doctor Zhao, he was about to leave when he suddenly froze in place.
A room specifically for the injured…?
He looked back at Li Xiangling, something flashing through his mind.
“Rest quietly?”
Qiao Jiajin also noticed Qi Xia’s expression wasn’t quite right and asked in confusion, “Liar, what’s wrong?”
“Nothing…” Qi Xia’s face turned cold, his mind already made up. “You all rest and recover. I’ll get you something to eat.”
He opened the door with a grim expression, muttering under his breath, “So that’s how it is… Just like Zhang Shan, Li Xiangling won’t survive past tonight either.”
Qi Xia returned to his own classroom. Opening the door, he found Han Yimo sitting inside.
At this moment, Han Yimo was looking at the sky with a smile on his face.
That smile was extraordinarily eerie.
Seeing someone enter, Han Yimo immediately put away his expression and turned to look at Qi Xia.
“You’re back?”
Qi Xia furrowed his brow slightly and said, “Yes, I came to get some food.”
“Oh, I’ll help you.” Han Yimo stood up, picked up several cans from the floor, and grabbed a few bottles of water. “Here you go.”
Qi Xia stared into Han Yimo’s eyes and silently accepted the items from his hands.
“What were you… looking at just now?” Qi Xia asked.
“I was looking at the sky,” Han Yimo said with a smile. “The sky here is mesmerizing.”
“Is that so?”
Qi Xia looked out through the window. Outside was a dark red sky and an earthy yellow sun.
That sun had thin black lines around its outer ring, spreading from the outer ring toward the inner ring.
“Have you ever seen a sky and sun like this?” Han Yimo slowly turned around, speaking with a smile on his face. “That sun isn’t dazzling at all. It’s like a yellow ball. I can’t find any words to describe it.”
“Oddly shaped things are all over the streets here. I’m used to it,” Qi Xia said expressionlessly.
“It’s not ‘odd’… it’s ‘beautiful’…” Han Yimo said. “It floats in the sky… making me feel it’s extremely beautiful. It’s like… I can’t quite explain it, but I feel like I’ve seen it somewhere before.”
“I think you’re just too idle,” Qi Xia sighed. “Didn’t you say before that you had an unfinished novel? You could use this opportunity to work on it. The day you return to the real world, you can publish it.”
“The novel…?” Han Yimo was slightly stunned. “Right, the novel. Qi Xia, do you know? Every novel has a savior.”
“Really?” Qi Xia replied noncommittally. “I rarely read novels, so I wouldn’t know.”
“Qi Xia, you are my savior.”
“I’m the ‘savior’…?” Qi Xia pondered for a moment. He felt that Han Yimo had called him “savior” several times now, which was becoming somewhat irritating. “I merely saved your life once. There’s no need to elevate it to such heights.”
“Hahaha!” Han Yimo laughed. “Right, right, my apologies. My choice of words wasn’t quite accurate. In any case, thank you for saving me.”
Qi Xia felt something was off.
Han Yimo had previously seemed like a very normal young man. Though he was somewhat timid, he hadn’t done anything puzzling or detestable until now.
But why was his behavior so abnormal today?
Had he been affected by the “Land of Ending”?
Footsteps echoed in the corridor, sounding like someone was running frantically.
“Something’s wrong! Is there anyone in charge?!” a voice shouted outside the door.
Qi Xia recognized it as Old Lu’s voice.
People trickled out of the classrooms to see Old Lu, drenched in sweat, anxiously looking for someone. His entire body was soaked, as if he’d just been in water.
“Where’s Chu Tianqiu? Where’s that kid surnamed Qi?” He shouted with a trembling voice. “Is there any smart person who can help?”
Qi Xia opened the door and walked forward, seeing Chu Tianqiu also arriving.
“What’s wrong?” Chu Tianqiu asked.
“That celebrity…” Old Lu kept patting his chest, trying to steady his breathing. “Yun Yao… Yun Yao’s in trouble!”
Both Qi Xia’s and Chu Tianqiu’s expressions froze simultaneously.
“What happened to her?” Qi Xia asked.
“She’s trapped in a game venue…” Old Lu said. “Good heavens… I’ve never seen anything like this… That rabbit won’t let her leave…”
“What?” Qi Xia’s brow furrowed as he looked up at Chu Tianqiu.
But Chu Tianqiu also looked utterly confused.
“Rabbit?” Chu Tianqiu asked. “Man-Rabbit?”
“Yes!” Old Lu nodded vigorously. “It’s so strange… Didn’t you say yesterday that you gambled that rabbit to death? Why is there still a ‘Zodiac’ standing there today…”
After hearing this, Chu Tianqiu’s face showed great alarm. He quickly said, “Old Lu, Qi Xia, you two come with me. Everyone else, dismissed on the spot.”
“Dismissed on the spot?!”
After hearing this, everyone looked at each other in confusion, not knowing what was happening. Wasn’t the urgent matter right now to go rescue Yun Yao?
Qi Xia took a deep breath and followed Old Lu to Chu Tianqiu’s classroom.
“Close the door…” Chu Tianqiu said, somewhat dazed.
“What exactly is going on?” Qi Xia said. “Do you need me to strategize?”
“No… wait a moment…” Chu Tianqiu turned to look at Old Lu. “First tell us exactly what happened.”
