Chapter 962: The Ninth Person

“Uh…” Earth-Tiger covered his face, stammering and unable to speak.

The brightly feathered Earth-Chicken before him looked extremely angry, and no one dared to provoke her.

“Yo…” Black Sheep mocked from the side, “Pei Qianhu, where’s your temper? Where’s that fierce energy you had when scolding us? Where’s ‘a hero takes responsibility for his actions’?”

“Dead Old Black, what the hell do you know?” Earth-Tiger muttered. “No wonder you’ve never had a girlfriend… you really deserve it…”

Black Sheep froze, then without another word stood up and walked toward the short knife on the ground. Rotten Dog quickly rushed forward to stop him.

“No, no, no… forget it, forget it…” Rotten Dog desperately held Black Sheep back, but found it exceptionally difficult this time.

“I’m going to kill him… I absolutely must kill him…”

Corporate-Slave Mouse and Edgy Pig could only rush forward together to help. It seemed Earth-Tiger’s words this time were particularly cutting.

“Are you guys not done?” Earth-Chicken stood with her hands on her hips, showing a smile while veins bulged on her forehead. “Am I being too easy on you…? How many days has it been? Are you really not afraid of being exposed?”

“Don’t be angry yet…” Earth-Tiger said with an apologetic smile. “Quail Sister, actually we…”

“Who the hell is a quail?!” Earth-Chicken shouted.

“No, no, Earth-Chicken Sister, listen to us first.” Earth-Tiger quickly stepped forward to help Earth-Chicken sit down on the side. “We just did an experiment and discovered that the probability of us being exposed is actually very small…”

Earth-Chicken angrily pushed Earth-Tiger’s hand away. “I won’t sit! Don’t push your luck. Every night you’re here either fighting or arguing—and you say the probability of exposure is small?”

“It’s true!” Earth-Tiger briefly explained the “experiment” he had just conducted.

“Good… good…” Earth-Chicken nodded. “Qinglong can’t hear, right? ‘Spiritual Hearing’ doesn’t work, right?”

“Then how did I hear it?” Earth-Chicken said with a fake smile. “Do you believe that over a dozen rooms near this corridor all heard that phrase ‘Qinglong, screw your grandfather’?”

“Uh…”

“Qinglong didn’t hear it—does that prevent you from dying?” Earth-Chicken said. “Any random person could walk up to Qinglong and say a few words, and you’d already be on a death countdown.”

“Right… that does seem to be the case.” Earth-Tiger scratched his head.

“And what angers me the most is…” Earth-Chicken sighed again. “Today a friend came to visit me. I originally wanted to praise you all in front of her… but instead, you went and did these embarrassing things. How am I supposed to introduce you to her now?”

“A friend…?” Earth-Tiger paused and looked back at Black Sheep and Earth-Mouse, the two “think tanks,” only to find them both looking equally confused.

“Chicken Leader…” Earth-Mouse walked forward with an ingratiating smile. “You want to introduce us to your friend? What kind of friend?”

“You still have the nerve to talk…” Earth-Chicken frowned. “Of course it’s a friend ‘on the same path.’ But what happened? She discovered that her future teammates are not only insulting Qinglong next door but also fighting and arguing—clearly a suicide squad.”

“Hey!” After hearing this, Earth-Mouse walked forward a few more steps. “Chicken Leader, you’ve got it all wrong! The reason we’re arguing so fiercely is precisely because it represents the vitality shooting forth from this team! We’re all full of vigor, ready to find a place to flex our muscles!”

Earth-Chicken thought for a moment after hearing this, then slowly stood up and looked at everyone in the room. “Qinglong really can’t hear?”

“Well, I’m not dead.” Earth-Tiger answered.

Earth-Chicken fell silent again for a while, then turned to the door and said, “If that’s the case, come in… let’s discuss this.”

There was a slight sound outside the door, then a figure slowly walked in.

Everyone looked toward the sound and saw that the newcomer was a female Earth-Ox. She had a slender build and wasn’t wearing a suit—just lazily wearing a shirt with several buttons at the bottom left unfastened, revealing abs that beat all the males in the room.

Earth-Rabbit and Earth-Tiger quickly tightened their suits to cover their bellies.

Looking around the room, only Rotten Dog, who wore his suit with his upper body bare, had comparable abs.

“Everyone, pleased to meet you.” Earth-Ox said.

Everyone symbolically nodded at her.

“Quail Sister, she is…” Earth-Tiger asked.

“Big White Tiger… if you dare call me ‘Quail’ one more time, I’ll definitely slap you three thousand times.”

“Ah! Wrong, wrong, Earth-Chicken Sister, who is she…?”

“She’s the only person I’ve been able to trust all these years.” Earth-Chicken said. “You don’t need to ask about the specifics. Just remember that she’s more trustworthy than any of you.”

“What…”

Earth-Ox took a deep breath and turned to look at Earth-Chicken. “Can these people really be trusted?”

“Don’t worry.” Earth-Chicken patted her shoulder. “This Big White Tiger and that Black Sheep are Sheep Brother’s students, and the others also have some connection with Sheep Brother.”

“‘Sheep Brother’?” Earth-Ox paused.

“Sheep Brother is… ‘him.'” Earth-Chicken said.

“Alright, if that’s the case…” Earth-Ox nodded, turned back to close the door, and said to everyone, “Everyone, I’m not quite sure how your team was formed, but we should all have roughly the same goal—to execute Qi… Sheep Brother’s plan.”

“Yes!” Everyone nodded after hearing this.

“And for insurance, he divided this plan into two parts across two stages separated by a long span of time, telling me and Earth-Chicken separately.” Earth-Ox continued. “When he was still a ‘Participant,’ he told me part of the plan, and after he became a ‘Zodiac,’ he told another part to Earth-Chicken. Later, he perhaps used some small tricks to make Earth-Chicken and me meet on the ‘train.’ Then the two of us pieced together the complete plan, and now today, we’re telling this plan to all of you.”

Everyone was stunned for a moment after hearing this. The room fell terrifyingly silent.

Although it sounded incredibly far-fetched, only Qi Xia or Baiyang could pull off something like this.

Before Earth-Chicken and Earth-Ox met, even “Heavenly-Snake” couldn’t read the complete plan.

“But I need to say in advance—once I reveal this plan, there’s no turning back for you all.” Earth-Ox said. “If we encounter ‘Heavenly-Snake’ and he gets even one look, all of our situations will be dangerous. So those who aren’t prepared, please leave now and don’t implicate others.”

After hearing this, everyone could only turn their gazes toward Corporate-Slave Mouse. After all, he had always claimed to be a “wall grass,” yet unexpectedly, he sat more steadily than anyone.

“Good… if that’s the case, I’ll consider that all of you are willing to follow this plan and work toward it.” Earth-Ox said.
