Chapter 1294: Family

A somewhat thin Earth-Monkey was being held in front of Black-Sheep, his entire upper body already covered in blood.

Before long, Earth-Monkey stopped walking and stood in the middle of the corridor.

“Black-Sheep…”

“Don’t stop…” Black-Sheep said weakly. “Keep walking… I don’t want to kill you…”

“Can’t go on…” Earth-Monkey sighed. “We’re surrounded…”

Only then did Black-Sheep struggle to lift his eyelids and look at the scene before him.

Over a dozen “Participant Level” individuals of varying heights stood in the corridor ahead, blocking their path.

Without a word, Black-Sheep reversed his grip on the dagger and pressed it firmly against Earth-Monkey’s neck. His swaying figure spat out a few words: “Are they your people…”

Earth-Monkey said helplessly: “I don’t know them.”

“Tell them to scram…” Black-Sheep said again. “Otherwise your life will end here.”

“Black-Sheep… you can’t possibly not understand…” Earth-Monkey said. “These people won’t even care about my life. What they care about is your head. You’ve held a knife to an ‘Earth Level’ and crossed almost half the corridor, declaring your ‘rebellion’ status to everyone… Now as long as they can take your head, it’s a great achievement for anyone.”

Earth-Monkey lowered his head and reached out his left hand to clench it, discovering that he too had lost too much blood and his fingertips had turned ice-cold.

But along this journey, he had discovered that Black-Sheep had only used the knife to pierce his flesh and blood. Until now, not even tendons or bones had been injured.

What reason could there possibly be… to make a person who looked so calm go this crazy?

Black-Sheep’s clouded eyes stared at the dozen or so people before him, biting down hard on his teeth.

“So what do you want to do?” Earth-Monkey asked softly.

“What… can I do…”

“Kill me here?” Earth-Monkey said expressionlessly. “Either that, or keep me under control and kill everyone in front of you… or you could turn and run right now. I estimate there are only these three paths to choose from.”

Black-Sheep remained silent for a long while, then said: “There’s a fourth path.”

“Oh?” Earth-Monkey nodded. “Let’s hear it.”

Black-Sheep slowly moved the knife pressed against the other’s neck away a few centimeters, then said something Earth-Monkey could never have imagined—

“Can you please help me…”

Earth-Monkey frowned, feeling this Black-Sheep was really a bit too strange.

“Do you yourself think this request is reasonable?” he asked.

“I really have no other way…” Black-Sheep answered, pressing his lips together. “I thought this path would be difficult… but I didn’t expect it to be this difficult. None of the roads can lead to ‘life’… All I can see in my eyes is despair…”

Listening to Black-Sheep’s voice, Earth-Monkey shook his head: “So what’s the reason you’re desperately trying to find Heavenly-Tiger? Revenge?”

“Revenge…” Black-Sheep smiled bitterly. “I currently have no grudge with Heavenly-Tiger, but I might soon… Right now my family is battling him. I need to get there immediately… If I’m late…”

“Family?” Earth-Monkey paused. “This is the first time I’ve heard this word on the ‘Train.'”

“I’m about to lose this word… lose… all the people… that this word represents…”

Black-Sheep’s voice grew smaller and smaller, whether from physical weakness or excessive grief.

“I don’t mean to discourage you.” Earth-Monkey said helplessly. “With your body in this state, even if you really find Heavenly-Tiger… what can you change?”

“I don’t know…” Black-Sheep said. “I’m even using my last bit of willpower to support myself… I can’t think about the next step… My goal in this rebellion is to kill two ‘Heavenly Levels’…”

“How much have you completed?” Earth-Monkey asked again.

“Half.” Black-Sheep said. “I killed Heavenly-Ox.”

“What…” Earth-Monkey’s expression changed, but he quickly suppressed it. “You’ve truly gone mad. You’re extremely fortunate not to be dead already, yet you want to drag this body to find Heavenly-Tiger…”

“That’s why I hope you can help me…” Black-Sheep said in a deep voice.

Earth-Monkey lowered his head and discovered Black-Sheep had completely dropped his hand. The knife that had been hanging in front of his neck had long since disappeared.

“Now everyone has seen the two of us talking secretly.” Black-Sheep said softly behind Earth-Monkey’s ear. “They can’t have one hundred percent trust in you… Rather than hide until the end and face Qinglong’s suspicion, why not try to rebel with us? Which path do you think has a higher survival rate for you?”

After hearing this, Earth-Monkey lowered his head and pondered for a while. To be honest, the survival probability of both paths was not high.

Although Black-Sheep was now completely at his wit’s end, this was not a reason for him to throw away his life to help him.

“Black-Sheep, all I can do is not kill you right now.” Earth-Monkey said. “You’re a decent person, but that’s all. This reason isn’t enough to make me go die. Moreover, the family you want to save is your family, not mine.”

“Not killing me…” Black-Sheep nodded. “Not killing me is already the greatest help to me… Please go wait on the side… I’ll kill all the ‘Participant Level’ people in front of me right now… I’ll still need you to guide me on the path ahead…”

“Hey… are you really…” Earth-Monkey still wanted to persuade Black-Sheep further, but discovered Black-Sheep wasn’t joking at all.

He pushed Earth-Monkey aside with the dagger in his hand and staggered forward. His attack had no technique whatsoever—he slashed open the chest of a Man-Pig almost instantly.

That Man-Pig covered his chest and rapidly retreated, pulling away from Black-Sheep.

“I’m in a hurry…” Black-Sheep raised the bloodied dagger in his hand, lifted his head and said to everyone before him, “If you all can make way for me here… then you’ll be my benefactors, and I will definitely repay you double afterward…”

Although Black-Sheep had already suffered fatal injuries, his cold aura made everyone afraid to step forward.

“If we must determine who’s superior here… then I can only stake this life…” Black-Sheep took several deep breaths, gripping the dagger tightly in his hand. “I’m really in a hurry… You’d better all come at once…”

Although he said this, Black-Sheep had almost seen his own death approaching.

He was perhaps the only “rebel” still wandering in the corridor, which was why he was surrounded by so many “Participant Levels.”

But where did everyone else go…?

Did they die, win, or escape?

He soon discovered that the many “Participant Levels” before him had no intention of stepping forward to die. They just quietly surrounded him, seemingly waiting for him to die from excessive blood loss.

Black-Sheep took a step forward, and everyone took a step back. But after a few steps, Black-Sheep didn’t even have the strength to lift his feet anymore.

At this moment… would there still be any “reinforcements” appearing?

If there really were… what a great miracle that would be?

Before the thought had faded, a young woman suddenly appeared among the crowd.

That young woman appeared out of thin air, wearing an expression full of contempt.
