Black Sheep lay on the ground, struggling to lift his head.
Amid the sounds of “Ants” tearing at Heavenly-Tiger’s body, he looked toward Pei Qianhu’s direction.
“Hey…”
He called out weakly, but Pei Qianhu didn’t respond.
“Hey… Damn it…”
He had never imagined that one day when calling out to this fool, he would get no response whatsoever.
“Hey!!” Black Sheep shouted with almost a sobbing tone. “I haven’t killed you yet… How dare you fucking die…?!”
The loud voice echoed in the room. Amid Black Sheep’s tearful curses, even Heavenly-Tiger’s shrill screams fell silent.
Countless hands had reached into his body, squeezing and deforming all his internal organs.
Before long, an almost imperceptible cough came from Pei Qianhu:
“Cough…”
“Eh?!” Black Sheep was instantly overjoyed. “Pei Qianhu…”
“Old Black… What are you yammering about…”
“You… You fucking…!”
“Hehe…” Pei Qianhu opened his eyes and laughed weakly at the ceiling. “This is really embarrassing… Talking about family this and family that… We’re both grown men… Have you no shame?”
“And saying you’d kill me… You dog thief…” Pei Qianhu laughed dryly a few times. “I told you ‘no rush’… And you really weren’t in a fucking rush… Why didn’t you wait until he’d eaten down to my toes before coming… Why didn’t you just bring some hell money and burn it for me directly…”
“Still talking tough. I shouldn’t have fucking come at all.” Black Sheep lay on the ground and said, “I deliberately dragged out the time for so long, but you still didn’t die. What a fucking waste. A little brat could beat you up like this—what use are you… Where’s that skill you had against Earth-Dragon?”
Earth-Tiger coughed helplessly. “Old Black… If you’re going to nag like this, let me make it clear first—that ‘Tao’ debt hasn’t been repaid… After all, it was Brother Yang who loaned it for me… With principal and interest… You still owe me in total…”
“You keep track of it.” Black Sheep snorted coldly. “When you die, I’ll fucking burn it all for you.”
“Hey… Why so angry… It’s just letting the kid eat a bit of arm… Hehe…” Pei Qianhu coughed a few more times. “If the kid wants to eat, let him eat… With my build… How could I die so easily…”
While the two were talking, an Earth-Monkey slowly arrived at the doorway. He looked at the scene inside, sighed, and walked in.
He discovered the room was full of wandering “Ants,” which made him feel irritated. He then pulled out a “Tao” from his pocket. The “Ants” raised their heads at this moment, as if sensing something, but none of them moved.
Earth-Monkey opened the door and tossed the “Tao” out. The many “Ants,” sensing the “Tao” was masterless, all followed it into the corridor to fight over it.
Then Earth-Monkey closed the door, returning peace to the room.
“Holy shit…” Pei Qianhu struggled to turn his head, and was shocked when he saw this person. “Old Black… Get up quick… We finally managed to deal with Heavenly-Tiger, dying to this monkey would be too much of a loss…”
After hearing this, Black Sheep raised his eyes to glance at Earth-Monkey, then lay on the ground looking thoroughly impatient and said, “I can’t get up. You go die.”
“Ah… Fuck… How are you being cold and heartless again… Cough cough…” Pei Qianhu shifted his body a few times, wanting to get up, but truly had no strength left due to excessive blood loss. “Old Black… How about I hold him off… You go first…”
“I’m not leaving either. I’m planning to watch you die.”
“What?! No way…”
Seeing the two singing in harmony, Earth-Monkey didn’t know what medicine they were selling in their gourd. He could only come to the center of the room, take off his suit, and tear it into long strips.
“Heh…” Pei Qianhu shouted angrily. “Want to strangle me, is that it… I fear neither heaven nor earth… If you’ve got the guts, kill me… I’ll definitely leave a few holes in your body…”
Earth-Monkey looked at Pei Qianhu and rolled his eyes at him, then tossed the torn suit onto his face. “No need. Your friend already left enough holes in my body. Wrap yourself up—your shoulder is spurting blood.”
“Eh?” Pei Qianhu reached out and caught the cloth strips. He hadn’t expected this Earth-Monkey he was meeting for the first time to actually be on their side. “Whose side are you on, kid…”
“I don’t know whose side I’m on either.” Earth-Monkey shook his head, then tossed the other half to Black Sheep. “You two are really lucky—you’re not even dead yet…”
Black Sheep caught the cloth strip and struggled to sit up, then leaned against the wall and began wrapping himself. But most of the injuries he’d received fighting Heavenly-Bull were internal injuries, so external bandaging wouldn’t have much effect.
He took a few deep breaths and asked Earth-Monkey, “Is everything settled? Those ‘Man-level’ participants…”
“What’s there to settle with ‘Man-level’ participants…” Earth-Monkey lifted a chair from the ground, sat down, and also began treating his own wounds. “So I stumbled into this situation in a daze—won’t anyone give me an introduction? What exactly are you planning to do?”
Black Sheep didn’t answer. He simply wrapped his various crude wounds, then supporting himself against the wall, stood up and came to Pei Qianhu’s side to help bandage his severed arm at the shoulder.
Watching the two of them, Earth-Monkey felt like he was being ignored. “Wait… Black Sheep, are you not planning to trust me? If I wanted to harm you, I could act right now.”
After saying this, he looked at the expressions of the Earth-Sheep and Earth-Tiger before him and found both looked somewhat bewildered.
Black Sheep sighed. “It’s not that we don’t trust you… It’s that we don’t know the plan either.”
“Huh…?” Earth-Monkey was stunned. “‘Heaven-level’ participants are starting to die, ‘Natives’ are getting on board, ‘Participants’ are getting on board, even ‘Ants’ are running around everywhere in the corridors… And you have no idea what you’re supposed to do next?!”
“Right.” Black Sheep nodded. “The people killing ‘Heaven-level’ participants don’t know what to do, the people getting on board don’t know what to do, even the ‘Ants’ don’t know what will happen next. That’s our current situation.”
“You’re insane…” Earth-Monkey slowly stood up. “Making such a huge commotion, yet completely ignorant about what comes next…”
“This is a good thing.” Black Sheep said. “Each of us only knows our own part, which is why this plan has been concealed until now.”
“What about me?!” Earth-Monkey said with a bewildered expression. “I’m joining this plan starting from now… Doesn’t that mean I have no idea what to do at all?”
“From what I know of the intelligence… Everything that needed to be done is done.” Black Sheep looked up at Earth-Monkey. “All that’s left to do now is probably wait.”
“Just like that… Keep waiting?” Earth-Monkey asked.
“Yes, wait for the final success to arrive…” Black Sheep paused. “There’s nothing else we can do besides that.”
“I can’t wait anymore…” Pei Qianhu grimaced and reached out to grab the bandage on his body. “I estimate many of our brothers are seriously injured right now… Let’s go out and look for them later… Save whoever we can…”
“You can barely walk—stop being stubborn.” Black Sheep said. “Injuries from fighting ‘Heaven-level’ participants can’t be healed in a short time. You and I are the same. Although we’re alive now, we’ll soon face the predicament of insufficient medicine and wound infections. If this rebellion doesn’t succeed, we’re dead no matter what.”
Earth-Monkey was about to speak, but suddenly noticed the crack in the wall. He slowly walked over and looked in disbelief at the endless starry sky beyond the wall.
“What… is this…?”
