Long Aotian – Chapter 53

“Go, Beicheng, go!”

Hearing Qin Wanwan’s name, Jian Xingzhi immediately began cheering for Qin Wanwan. Hearing Jian Xingzhi’s cheers, the other three quickly followed suit.

“Go, Wanwan!”

“Go, Master!”

“Go, Qin Wan!”

The four voices rose and fell throughout the entire arena, cold yet lively.

After all, except for Nanfeng, the other three had always been the objects of cheering. This was their first time cheering for someone else. Their cheers could not be called anything but awkward. Apart from Jian Xingzhi, they were completely just going through the motions, without any of the vigorous enthusiasm a cheerleading squad should have.

But fortunately, their cultivation levels were high enough and their voices loud enough that for a moment, they still had quite an imposing manner.

Qin Wanwan received the encouragement, clenched her fists, and ascended the arena with her sword.

As soon as she took the stage, everyone began cheering. Yan Huo was tall and large, looking at Qin Wanwan contemptuously. “You’re the disciple of that person who wanted to fight me yesterday?”

Qin Wanwan instinctively shook her head, then immediately heard Jian Xingzhi’s excited voice from below. “Fight! Beicheng, crush his dog head for your master!”

Qin Wanwan lowered her head in shame. So embarrassing.

Yan Huo laughed scornfully, putting one hand behind his back. “Seeing how delicate you are, I’ll let you have one hand.”

“That’s wonderful.”

Qin Wanwan brightened up, speaking magnanimously. “I yield to you.”

With that, she took a deep breath and assumed her stance. Yan Huo beckoned. “Come on.”

The instant those words fell, before anyone could see clearly how the strike was made, Yan Huo’s entire person was sent flying by a single sword strike!

The entire venue fell silent. Then they heard Jian Xingzhi excitedly clapping, boasting to a stranger on his left. “Did you see that?! My disciple—that’s my disciple!”

The stranger nodded. “I know. I knew from the very beginning.”

Qin Wanwan hadn’t expected Yan Huo would be knocked out so easily. She stared blankly at her own hand, then realized.

She was an expert.

Her confidence instantly soared as she began surveying her surroundings.

A moment later, the judge called the next person up. A garishly dressed woman descended from the sky, twin swords gripped in her hands, shouting loudly, “Behold my sword!”

With that, her swords began dancing rapidly, dazzlingly so. Qin Wanwan kept swaying her head following the sword tips.

For no other reason—this young woman only danced without attacking, like a circus performer.

Everyone watched this young woman continuously dancing her swords. As she danced, she even added spell techniques, making it increasingly spectacular.

“What is she doing?”

Xie Gutang couldn’t figure out this female sword cultivator’s approach and asked Jian Xingzhi sitting beside him. Jian Xingzhi propped up his chin, looking somewhat drowsy. “No idea.”

“I heard this is a new sect called Sword Flower Gate.”

Cuilu explained from the side. “They first confuse the enemy with dazzling sword techniques, then after finding the enemy’s weak point, launch a surprise attack.”

Both Xie Gutang and Jian Xingzhi looked at Cuilu with the eyes reserved for looking at fools. Cuilu was stunned, then quickly explained. “I didn’t establish this sect. Why are you looking at me?”

“Have they ever won?”

Jian Xingzhi frowned. Cuilu thought about it, hesitating. “It seems they have won a few matches.”

“What kind of fool would let them win?”

Jian Xingzhi was puzzled. Everyone fell into contemplation.

They watched Qin Wanwan on the arena looking bewildered at the sword techniques. The female sword cultivator across from her kept dancing. She danced until the sun became scorching. Jian Xingzhi’s group moved to sit under a tree’s shade in the heights. Nanfeng bought watermelon and coconut juice to distribute to the three. Everyone felt as exhausted as if they had watched an elementary school arts performance.

They were tired, and Qin Wanwan was also very tired. She sat cross-legged on the field, yawning. She wanted to make a move but feared these bizarre techniques were a trap, so she could only adopt the strategy of “if the enemy doesn’t move, I don’t move,” staring at this female cultivator performing with her sword.

The female cultivator’s sword-dancing movements began to slow down. Qin Wanwan couldn’t help advising her. “Miss, why don’t we just fight?”

As soon as the female cultivator heard her speak, she immediately perked up, beginning to wink and make faces at her while dancing her sword, staring at her with sharp eyes asking, “Am I amazing? Am I great?”

Qin Wanwan quickly nodded. “Amazing.”

Just hurry up and attack!

“Then why aren’t you applauding for me?”

The opponent gasped for breath. “Can’t you see I’m almost out of strength!”

Qin Wanwan understood—she had been waiting for this applause all along!

Qin Wanwan quickly gripped her sword and applauded. At that very instant, sword light suddenly burst forth from across the way, blasting her away with one strike!

Jian Xingzhi was both shocked and furious, springing to his feet. “Despicable—”

Before he finished speaking, Cuilu pulled him down and covered his mouth. “She could fall for even this. Won’t you feel embarrassed if you shout that out?”

Qin Wanwan was blasted into the ground with a “bang” by this sword light. The referee immediately stepped forward, crouching beside Qin Wanwan and beginning to count. “Ten, nine…”

Meanwhile, this female cultivator had already begun accepting everyone’s cheers, running around the arena. “Thank you, thank you everyone…”

Before she finished speaking, a sword light burst forth from Qin Wanwan’s direction. Then they saw Qin Wanwan’s sword energy like rain, rapidly stabbing at the female cultivator within a narrow range. The female cultivator was forced back step by step. When driven to the arena’s edge, Qin Wanwan suddenly stopped her sword. Everyone held their breath, waiting for Qin Wanwan to strike. They watched Qin Wanwan sheath her sword and say respectfully, “I yield to you.”

The female cultivator was stunned. Qin Wanwan turned around gracefully. At that very moment, the female cultivator’s entire body spurted blood as she fell backward. The rescue team immediately rushed over to carry her away.

Qin Wanwan walked toward the arena amid the commotion behind her. Her steps were full of confidence and joy. When passing Jian Xingzhi’s group, she even tossed her hair and winked at everyone.

The crowd below erupted in cheers. Jian Xingzhi and the others applauded desperately, even more excited than if they themselves had won.

After all, the three sitting here winning was commonplace, but this was Qin Wanwan’s first victory—a sword cultivator’s starting point!

Qin Wanwan continued winning unstoppably all the way. By her final match, it was already afternoon. A man who looked like a monkey came up.

As soon as this person came up, his eyes lustfully fixed on Qin Wanwan. Qin Wanwan felt uncomfortable under his gaze. After raising her hand in salute, she directly thrust her sword at him.

The man saw Qin Wanwan thrusting at him and began shouting. “Oh my, little beauty, don’t fall now.”

As he spoke, he tripped with his foot. Qin Wanwan lunged forward, and he raised his hand to touch Qin Wanwan’s waist. Qin Wanwan instinctively dodged, but the opponent seemed to have already anticipated her evasive movement, having prepared at her dodging position long ago, stabbing down with his sword!

“Damn his uncle!” Jian Xingzhi saw this person was bullying Qin Wanwan for being a young woman, deliberately using such despicable tactics. Furious, he sprang to his feet. Cuilu and Xie Gutang immediately pulled him back. Cuilu advised him, “The cultivation world isn’t all honorable gentlemen. She’ll encounter them sooner or later. Better to meet them sooner.”

What Cuilu said wasn’t without reason. Jian Xingzhi was so angry his foot trembled, but he still sat back down.

On the field, Qin Wanwan reacted quickly, leaping up and falling to the ground. The opponent chased and slashed at her. Just as she was about to roll off the stage, she grabbed the rope with one hand, flipped herself up, and kicked.

The opponent grabbed her ankle, made a “tsk” sound, then looked at Qin Wanwan with a slimy gaze. “A beauty is a beauty—even her feet are this fragrant.”

“Disgusting!” Cuilu couldn’t take it anymore. She sprang to her feet about to rush up and hit him. Jian Xingzhi and Nanfeng quickly held her back. “Calm down, it’s a match right now. Wanwan can handle it.”

Just as they finished speaking, Qin Wanwan was flung out by this person, crashing hard to the ground. Dust flew up. The four were stunned. Xie Gutang finally couldn’t endure it and directly stood up. “I’m going to beat him.”

“No!”

This time Cuilu was calm, pulling him back together with Jian Xingzhi. “This is a competition. We can’t interfere!”

Embracing the philosophy that everything was a life lesson, the four people watched from the high platform as Qin Wanwan brawled with that man.

That man’s skill level wasn’t particularly good, but he was exceptionally shameless. Each time he would say something to make her lose control or do something improper to make her dodge. Once she dodged, she fell into his trap. Once trapped, she got hit. Fortunately, Qin Wanwan was already used to getting beaten. After being smashed into the dirt several times, she could still stand up strongly each time.

After being hit a few times on the stage, Qin Wanwan simply stopped fighting with the opponent directly. When the opponent chased her, she ran. Her moves weren’t as underhanded as the opponent’s, but she ran faster than him. In such a small arena range, the opponent couldn’t even touch her clothes.

The two chased each other back and forth, fighting all afternoon. Seeing the sun about to set, at this rate it would end in a draw. Xie Gutang bit his finger, unable to help speaking. “With this level, I would only need one sword strike.”

Cuilu gritted her teeth. “I would only need one slap.”

Jian Xingzhi clenched his fist and glanced sideways. “I would only need one finger.”

“But what use is that?” Nanfeng was dejected. “None of you can go on stage. You’re not as good as me.”

This made everyone even more anxious. They quickly drank a few mouthfuls of coconut juice to cool down.

Just then, that man suddenly exploded into action. Flying swords surrounded them everywhere, stabbing at Qin Wanwan together. Qin Wanwan immediately activated her sword array, but the opponent’s movements were fast and his preparation thorough. Qin Wanwan’s sword array instantly exploded. Light swords pierced her entire body, pinning her to the ground, unable to move.

All four were stunned. They watched the sun slowly set as that man walked to Qin Wanwan’s side and raised his foot to step on Qin Wanwan’s face.

“Little beauty,” the opponent tilted his head, “still won’t admit defeat?”

Qin Wanwan said nothing. She lay on the ground. Jian Xingzhi looked at Qin Wanwan on the stage, his heart instantly wrenching.

This was too much.

He suddenly had a realization—beating someone was one thing, but stepping on their face—what an excessive, what a vile act!

He looked at Qin Wanwan being stepped on onstage, clenching his fist.

Qin Wanwan lay on the stage. The instant she felt the opponent step on her face, fury suddenly rushed to the top of her head.

One after another—did they all really think she was a weakling, so they could bully her like this?!

She clenched her fist. The surrounding winds and clouds changed. That man was completely unaware. Xie Gutang looked up at the sky and suddenly spoke. “This is…”

“Sword intent.”

Jian Xingzhi glanced at the surrounding spiritual energy, his gaze falling on Qin Wanwan. “Her sword has always lacked sharpness—yield when she could yield, endure when she could endure. Now…”

She was finally angry.

Everyone recognized it—except for the man stepping on her face.

The man turned to look at the referee, calling out proudly. “Start counting.”

The referee reacted and quickly stepped forward. “Ten, nine…”

Before he finished speaking, light burst skyward from Qin Wanwan’s body. The opponent did a backward somersault and landed to the side. Yuanning instantly returned to Qin Wanwan’s hand. Qin Wanwan slashed with one sword. The opponent dodged. At that very instant, Qin Wanwan’s sword cut toward the opponent’s lower body. The opponent hastily shifted away. However, the moment he moved, sword light was already waiting for him. He frantically dodged. Qin Wanwan grabbed his hair with one hand and laughed coldly. “Why are you dodging?”

With that, she yanked him backward by his hair, viciously smashing him to the ground, then another sword sliced toward his lower half!

All the sword cultivators couldn’t help clenching their legs a bit tighter. They watched Qin Wanwan, as if her grievances had accumulated for long and suddenly erupted, turn from defense to offense, frantically slashing at that sword cultivator.

“Did I make you all think being yielding to you was giving you face? If I can’t provoke you, can’t I avoid you? I ran so much already—beating me was one thing, but you also stepped on my face?!”

As she spoke, Qin Wanwan raised her hand and swept her long sword. Over a dozen sword lights instantly pierced through the young man. The young man still refused to admit defeat and charged forward to attack. But his movements had already slowed. Qin Wanwan disarmed his sword with one motion, raised her hand to grab his head and smashed it against her knee. “I’ll teach you to step! I’ll teach you to step!”

After frantically smashing over a dozen times, she grabbed the opponent to face her. “Do you admit defeat or not? Do you admit your mistake?!”

“I… won’t…”

Before he finished, Qin Wanwan, her face dirty, grabbed the opponent’s hair and began swinging him around on the stage, smashing him from left to right, from right to left. After smashing back and forth over a dozen times, the opponent had long been beaten beyond recognition. “Do you know stepping on people’s faces is wrong now?!”

“I won’t…”

Before he finished, Qin Wanwan punched down on the opponent’s head, then began frantically punching down one fist after another.

Fists rose and fell, fists flew everywhere. Blood splattered on her face, making her features appear exceptionally gorgeous.

Everyone fell silent. Jian Xingzhi also didn’t know what was happening, but felt as if that fist was smashing into his own face.

He swallowed and watched Qin Wanwan stand up. The referee didn’t even bother counting anymore—they directly came up to carry the person away. Qin Wanwan stood proudly on the arena. Her body was covered in blood, her clothes tattered. Clenching her bloodstained fist, she looked down on everyone and shouted loudly. “Who else?! I’m asking—who else?!”

“Me!”

An aged voice sounded. Qin Wanwan’s gaze swept over like a knife. She saw on the judges’ panel an old man trembling. “I just wanted to ask… can I get off work now?”

**Author’s Note:** Qin Wanwan: In the end, I still became what I once hated most, and then discovered—it feels kind of good.
