Half an hour later, Shen Mo and Bai Youwei arrived at the service area.
Some people had gathered in the service area, about twenty or so—men, women, old and young—all staying in the restaurant.
The original service area staff were nowhere to be seen.
When Shen Mo pushed the wheelchair in, these people’s gazes all focused on the entrance. Discovering it was a man and a disabled girl entering, they unanimously showed disappointment.
Since the world’s transformation, people had been waiting for salvation. Whether government-organized rescue forces or religiously-summoned redemptive powers, anything would do. Even just lighting a lamp would be better than the current confusion and despair of seeing no hope.
Shen Mo swept a glance over the crowd in the restaurant, estimating the service area’s situation was also not optimistic. He pushed Bai Youwei toward the supermarket next door.
In the supermarket, the shelves had basically been swept clean. They found an electrical outlet and began charging the rabbit.
The charging setup was low-tech, but the charging method was quite high-tech. They only needed to let the plush rabbit sit leaning against the outlet to charge—no plug needed, no contact required.
They just didn’t know when it would be fully charged.
This thing wasn’t like ordinary electronic products that could display a percentage. It relied entirely on the user’s feeling. Bai Youwei felt for a long time but couldn’t feel anything conclusive.
“Describe it,” Shen Mo said.
Bai Youwei asked him: “Does your house have a swimming pool?”
Shen Mo: “Why?”
Bai Youwei: “It feels like holding a thin water hose, filling a swimming pool with water. Guess when it’ll be full?”
Shen Mo: “…”
Well, that was a very vivid description.
Charging would be a long process. Bai Youwei grew impatient waiting and picked up the rabbit, saying she needed to use the restroom.
She hated this kind of involuntary physiological need.
The folding cane had to hang on the wheelchair’s side, toilet paper and wet wipes in the cloth pocket on the other side. If she couldn’t find a seated toilet, she’d also need to bring her own small stool.
Shen Mo pushed Bai Youwei to the restroom and rarely sighed: “First time in my life entering a women’s restroom.”
Bai Youwei said coldly: “It’s just entering a women’s restroom. It’s not like you’re undressing a woman.”
After saying this, she thought of the past—not just using the restroom, but also wiping, bathing, massages—all had caregivers and nannies to help. Now she had to rely on a completely unfamiliar man.
She felt disgusted. Disgusted with Shen Mo, more disgusted with herself.
“Though undressing women should be very familiar to you.” Her mood worsening, she became even more sharp-tongued.
Shen Mo glanced at her lightly.
Undressing women—this was truly his first time.
But arguing about this would be too childish.
He understood very clearly that Bai Youwei’s emotions were volatile. Once any sensitive spot was touched, she would become aggressive, prickly like a hedgehog.
She really had it hard, with such a soft, cute appearance yet forcing herself to look fierce—like a bristling kitten throwing a tantrum.
Shen Mo found it amusing internally, pushing the wheelchair to find a relatively clean stall and asking Bai Youwei: “Undress sitting or standing?”
Bai Youwei maintained a stiff face, biting her lower lip. Finally, awkwardly and reluctantly, she pulled something out from the side pocket and forcefully stuffed it into Shen Mo’s hand.
“Put this on.” Like an arrogant queen, she ordered coldly.
Shen Mo opened the package. Inside was a toilet seat cushion, disposable, something she probably always carried when going out before.
He bent down to spread the toilet cushion, then turned around to discover Bai Youwei had already stood up supporting herself with the cane.
She looked very strained, with fine beads of sweat on the tip of her nose, glistening.
“Really don’t need my help?” Shen Mo looked her over.
Bai Youwei glared at him. “Go guard the door! Don’t let anyone in!”
Shen Mo asked: “Women can’t come in either?”
She immediately reacted like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, her voice cold and sharp—
“Right! Women can’t come in either! Anyone coming in will affect my physiological elimination! Think I’m too much trouble? Too late! Just bear with it! If you hadn’t insisted on taking me, I wouldn’t need to use the toilet in this disgusting place!”
She hobbled into the stall with her cane and slammed the door shut with a bang.
Rough and unreasonable to the extreme.
