The Supervisor’s finger tapped lightly in the air. A long table covered with a white lace tablecloth appeared in the yard.
Its finger tapped the tabletop again, and ten black cards were distributed as if summoned.
Bai Youwei received card number 3.
Shen Mo was number 4.
Wu Lili and Zhang Qi received numbers 7 and 10 respectively.
The numbers on the card faces served only for speaking order, with no reference value.
No one knew what anyone else’s word was.
Bai Youwei looked at her card and found it completely blank, with no word at all.
She didn’t know if it was for secrecy, waiting for the game to officially start before revealing the word.
Here, the Supervisor began announcing the rules:
“Ten friends have received two different sets of words. Each person takes turns describing the word they received. After one round of descriptions, the ten people vote to select the person whose word differs from their own. The two with the most votes are eliminated.”
Everyone held their breath listening, unwilling to miss any detail.
The tall, slender Supervisor stood at the front of the long table, casting a thin, long shadow. It looked at the faces before it, always maintaining an elegant smile:
“There are three rules you must pay attention to.
One, during description you must not say any character contained in the word;
Two, you must not use foreign languages, dialects, codes, or other methods to transmit information;
Three, the game ends when only players with the same word remain.
Finally, the winning players enter the cabin to attend the party.”
Shen Mo frowned. “If there aren’t enough players when the game ends, what happens then?”
“Same-team players automatically revive,” the Supervisor said with a smile. “Players eliminated during the game are only temporarily eliminated. Once teammates achieve final victory, same-team players also receive qualification to attend the party.”
After it finished this sentence, quite a few people breathed sighs of relief.
Because this rule meant that even if you were eliminated, you wouldn’t necessarily lose.
The Supervisor’s blue eyes scanned across people’s faces. “Now, is everyone clear on the rules? If you have any concerns, you may raise them.”
No one spoke.
Everyone was still digesting the information they’d just received.
The Supervisor’s mouth corners lifted. “Then, let’s officially begin—”
Everyone lowered their heads to look at their cards.
Bai Youwei furrowed her brow because her card was still completely blank.
“Oh right.” The Supervisor suddenly spoke again. “I almost forgot—before the game starts, I still need to explain the ghost’s rules.”
Everyone looked up at it in confusion.
“Among you, two people’s cards have no words,” the Supervisor smiled. “Those holding wordless cards are ghosts. Ghosts can form alliances with any team, but only one of the two ghosts can survive. The first eliminated ghost has no revival qualification.”
Bai Youwei: “…”
“Well, does anyone have questions now?” the Supervisor asked.
Bai Youwei wanted to curse inwardly.
If she asked questions now, wouldn’t she be openly telling others she was a ghost?!
She bit her lower lip and turned to look at Shen Mo, saying nothing, just looking at him pitifully with grievance.
Shen Mo raised his eyebrows slightly, seeming to understand the meaning in her eyes: You’re a ghost?
The game didn’t allow private message transmission, not even codes, so Bai Youwei said nothing, just turned back with a sullen, unhappy pout.
Shen Mo understood: She was a ghost.
He looked down at his own card, pondering silently how to make her ally with his team.
“The game now begins—”
The Supervisor smiled as it looked to the right. “Number 1, please speak first.”
