“I never wanted you dead.” Bai Youwei said coolly. “And you can’t die here anyway. As I said, this is your dream—even if you jump from a building and still don’t wake up, at worst the cycle simply starts over.”
“Is that so…” Fu Miaoxue tilted her head, her tone unhurried. “But who’s to say you’re not lying? If this is the real world and I get killed from the fall for trusting you, wouldn’t that make me look awfully foolish when word got out?”
Bai Youwei was growing a little impatient. “Whether this is the real world or not, you’re about to find out very soon! All you have to do is go to the dining room right now, and you’ll see that everything unfolds exactly the way I described!”
“No need to go through all that trouble.” Fu Miaoxue gave a light smile. “If this really is a dream, then even if you die, it shouldn’t matter—right?”
Bai Youwei froze. “What do you—”
Fu Miaoxue bent slightly and pulled a gun from underneath the tissue box on the coffee table. She raised her arm, and the black muzzle pointed directly at Bai Youwei!
Bai Youwei’s eyes snapped wide open.
Bang!
Bai Youwei was knocked backward by the impact and lost consciousness—in her final second before blacking out, all she wanted was to tear Fu Miaoxue into a thousand pieces!

When she opened her eyes again, Bai Youwei was back outside the estate’s front gate.
She genuinely couldn’t believe it—that lunatic Fu Miaoxue had actually shot her?!
Were people from the criminal underworld all this reckless? Did they regard human life as worth absolutely nothing?
Bai Youwei was seething with fury!
Bottling up her rage, she pressed the call button.
The same two security guards again.
After looking at the friend’s invitation card, one of them said: “Ah, a friend of the young lady’s. Miss Bai, please come in.”
Bai Youwei entered the estate, found Fu Miaoxue, and with a wooden expression said to her: “Fu Miaoxue, I’m your friend. Here is the invitation card.”

Joanna bowed: “Miss, I’ll wait for you in the dining room.”
The tutor, bodyguards, and servants all withdrew. The sitting room was left with only Fu Miaoxue and Bai Youwei.
“Alright, what is it? You may speak.” Fu Miaoxue fixed her brow furrowed gaze on Bai Youwei. “Why did you say exactly what I was just about to say?”
Bai Youwei went through it all over again: “Because you are, right now, inside a dream! The scenes and events have already looped countless times! Next you’ll go to lunch, you’ll be scolded by Joanna, you’ll storm off furiously to the garden! And there you’ll meet a gardener who can do magic tricks to make you happy!”
As she spoke, Bai Youwei walked toward Fu Miaoxue, opened the small drawer on the underside of the tissue box on the coffee table right in front of her, and pulled out the delicate little gun inside.
Fu Miaoxue’s eyes went wide with astonishment—she clearly could not understand how Bai Youwei could possibly know there was a gun hidden there.
“And what’s more, you’ll use this to shoot me dead, simply because you want to verify whether the dream is real.” Bai Youwei held the gun and fixed Fu Miaoxue with a cold stare. “Listen—I’m not in the mood to waste time here with you. If you want to leave this place, you have to accept the reality that this is a dream! Then jump from the top floor, and only then can you return to the real world and see Du Lai again. Otherwise you’ll be trapped in this endless loop—looping forever! Do you understand?!”
