In the room, Teng Yi had just pulled off his shirt.
His tanned skin and well-defined back muscles gave him a powerful presence. Of course – he was a Breaking dancer. Without upper body strength, how could he perform those incredibly cool moves that involved flying through the air?
Ruan Yu had originally intended to say hello, but seeing him suddenly take off his shirt, she felt too embarrassed to enter. She thought she’d take one more quick peek before leaving.
“Not coming in?” Teng Yi suddenly turned around. “What? Prefer watching secretly?”
Ruan Yu was caught red-handed, mortified beyond words.
How did he know she was watching?
Teng Yi seemed to read her mind as he raised his hand and pointed at the mirror.
Ruan Yu suddenly realized – of course, the mirrors. The practice room was full of mirrors.
“I left my phone behind and came back to get it,” Ruan Yu stood at the doorway, showing no intention of entering. “I won’t disturb you, I’ll leave now.”
She turned and was about to run.
“Wait!” Teng Yi called out.
Ruan Yu’s feet stopped in their tracks as she sheepishly turned back to look at him.
“Is there something else?”
“Need some help.”
“Hm?”
“Come in.”
Although Ruan Yu hesitated, since Teng Yi said he needed help, she couldn’t pretend she hadn’t heard and just left. What if he needed her assistance?
She pushed the door open but kept her head down, not daring to look at him. Her canvas shoes made slight sounds on the wooden floor, making her even more nervous.
“Why are you looking down?” Teng Yi’s lips curved upward. “Weren’t you watching quite intently just now?”
Ruan Yu: “…”
What kind of person was he? When gentle, he was a complete gentleman, but when mischievous, he was like a street rascal.
“What help do you need?” Ruan Yu asked with a red face.
Teng Yi saw her face as red as if the sunset had been rubbed into her skin and knew he shouldn’t tease her further. He turned to get a bottle of Yunnan Baiyao spray from the storage cabinet and handed it to her.
When Ruan Yu saw what he was handing her, her heart tightened. Forgetting her embarrassment, she lifted her head and carefully searched his body up and down, left and right, looking for any injuries.
“Brave enough to look at me now?” he smiled.
“Are you hurt?”
“No, just some muscle soreness in my back,” he turned slightly, showing her his back.
Ruan Yu raised her hand, instinctively wanting to touch his back, but stopped mid-air, feeling it inappropriate, and just made a vague gesture.
“Where?”
“Here.” He reached back and pointed to an area below his right shoulder blade.
Ruan Yu aimed the spray nozzle where he pointed and sprayed gently.
The air was immediately filled with the smell of Yunnan Baiyao.
“Anywhere else?”
He pointed lower.
Following his finger, Ruan Yu saw an oval-shaped bruise, still fresh, probably from a recent impact.
She felt concerned, and although she knew the spray wouldn’t hurt, she still applied it with extreme care.
“Anywhere else?” she continued asking.
Teng Yi turned around and pointed to his left ribcage area.
Ruan Yu bent down to spray, then suddenly realized – he could reach the front himself, why did he need her help?
She looked up at him and caught his face full of smiles.
Ah, he was teasing her again.
Ruan Yu irritably shoved the Yunnan Baiyao spray back into his hand.
“If there’s nothing else, I’ll head back now.”
