Division 9 – Chapter 1

Soul-stirring moans of pleasure and the man’s satisfied groans continuously emanated from the master bedroom. In the luxurious suite’s outer room, a gracefully proportioned woman lounged lazily on the spacious sofa. She wore a black short-sleeved combat uniform that perfectly outlined her exquisite figure, her snow-white slender neck resting languidly against the sofa back. Her sculptural sharp chin revealed her stubborn personality. Her lower body was wrapped tightly in the latest digital camouflage combat pants that hugged her long, beautiful legs, and she wore military combat soft boots. Inside the boot, an American-made Defense Master dagger was quietly strapped there, its sharp blade pressed closely against the woman’s tender white skin, faintly gleaming with cold light.

Suddenly, two satisfied cries rang out from the master bedroom. The woman’s lips curved into a slanted smile, a cold sneer leisurely forming. Very good, time to get to work.

Drawing the Colt 2000 pistol from behind her waist, she swiftly attached a silencer. The woman tossed her black wavy long hair and stood up, walking casually toward the master bedroom.

The door was tightly closed and locked from inside. The woman smiled slightly, casually taking out a silver steel wire and inserting it into the keyhole. Dealing with this simple door lock didn’t even take two seconds—with a gentle twist of the wire, the door opened silently.

The corrupt atmosphere filled with lust immediately wafted out, the scent of male and female hormones slowly dispersing in the air. The woman leaned against the door frame, raised her weapon to her lips, and gently blew on the gun barrel. Her gaze swept toward the bed where a man and woman lay embracing after their passionate encounter. With a cold laugh, she called out softly: “Hey! Was it enjoyable?”

The suddenly ringing voice instantly exploded like a bomb in the master bedroom!

Jie Sen, who had been lying on top of Mingmei, immediately flipped up. His body moved like a leopard—swift and decisive, without any hesitation—as he sprang up from the bed, his hand reaching toward the headboard quick as lightning.

“Pfft!” Blood splattered!

The woman gracefully raised her hand, and the incredibly sharp Defense Master dagger instantly pierced through Jie Sen’s palm, ruthlessly pinning it to the redwood headboard.

Mingmei’s eyes instantly widened, her lips swollen red from Jie Sen’s kisses opening into an O-shape. Just as she was about to cry out in alarm, a cold gleam flashed in the woman’s eyes. Her right hand flicked, and through the silencer, the Colt 2000 made a muffled sound. Mingmei’s pupils instantly dilated as a dark bloody hole opened in her snow-white neck. Blood flowed steadily, her voluptuous body convulsed once, and she collapsed onto the wide bed.

The woman’s expression remained unchanged as she turned calmly toward the terrified Jie Sen. Her lips curved slightly as she said softly: “Jie Sen, exciting, isn’t it?”

Blood flowed slowly down Jie Sen’s arm from his palm. He stared pale-faced at Shankou Mingmei, now a corpse on the bed, his voice trembling as he said urgently: “Ji’er, calm down. You have to believe me—she and I were just putting on an act. The only person I truly love is you.”

“I’m not Li Ji’er.” The woman smiled faintly and shook her head slightly. Her smile was like a flower, but in Jie Sen’s eyes, it looked like a death-summoning vengeful spirit, making his whole body tremble.

He quickly said: “Alright, alright, Miss Li, listen to my explanation…”

Before Jie Sen could finish speaking, the woman interrupted him. She slowly walked forward, the dark gun barrel threateningly pressed against Jie Sen’s forehead. The young woman narrowed her eyes slightly, bent down, placed one foot on his chest, and slowly slid the gun barrel across Jie Sen’s face before suddenly jamming it into his horrified, gaping mouth.

“I already told you, I’m not Li Ji’er.”

The young woman laughed coldly, extending her left hand to yank out the dagger embedded in Jie Sen’s palm. Blood immediately spurted out. Jie Sen’s eyes instantly widened as intense pain struck, but the Colt 2000’s barrel was firmly jammed in his mouth, allowing him only a muffled groan and preventing any cry for help.

The young woman slowly approached Jie Sen, leaning close to his ear and whispering: “I’m Agent 003 from Z Country’s National Security Bureau Military Intelligence Division 9. Now I will pass judgment on behalf of all the lives you’ve brutally harmed. I sentence you to death, to be executed immediately!”

A flash of despair and terror crossed Jie Sen’s pupils. At that moment, the bone-chillingly cold dagger suddenly gleamed with icy light. The dagger gradually drew closer, and he felt a terrifying coldness at his throat.

The young woman’s eyes revealed disgust and cruelty. Her hand gripping the dagger swept gracefully, and a string of blood droplets immediately arced through the air. The dagger, ice-cold, froze in mid-air.

Jie Sen’s body convulsed violently. Blood flowed steadily from his slit throat, the metallic smell permeating the air. The thin blanket he had pulled to the floor was already soaked with blood, and the air reeked of blood.

Everything was in order. The young woman carefully examined the scene and found no flaws. She leisurely walked to the balcony, turned around for one last look at Jie Sen’s disgusting corpse, and her lips suddenly curved into a cold smile. Her finger lightly pressed a button on her belt, and a grappling hook immediately shot out, slamming into the balcony wall. The young woman tossed her long hair and, without a trace of lingering attachment, flipped over the balcony railing.

Just then, hurried footsteps echoed in the hallway.

The young woman’s eyes flashed as she rapidly descended the thirty-seventh floor exterior, thinking to herself: “The R Country police are quite efficient.”

In less than twenty seconds, the young woman landed steadily on a patch of soft grass. A silver ladies’ handbag lay quietly in the bushes. The young woman took out a beige windbreaker and quickly put it on, changed into matching leather boots, stuffed the combat boots into the bag, and stood up.

Tossing her smooth long hair, she walked gracefully toward the hotel.

“Miss, please wait.”

A police officer hurried over, blocking the young woman’s path, saying in a serious tone: “There’s been a murder in the hotel. This entire building has been sealed off. Please don’t go inside, miss.”

“What? A murder!” The young woman suddenly covered her mouth, her eyes wide with a perfectly realistic expression of horror. What came from her mouth was the most authentic R Country language, even tinged with a Tokyo accent.

“Yes.” The young officer, seeing this beautiful woman’s shocked expression, felt somewhat dizzy and quickly said: “Miss, don’t be afraid. Our police have surrounded the entire building. The killer can’t escape—we’ll definitely catch this deranged criminal.”

“Oh, that’s good.” The young woman fearfully patted her chest and said in a sweet voice: “We citizens’ lives are truly secure only because of people like you. Well then, I won’t go in and cause you trouble. I’ll leave now.”

The young officer was thoroughly dazed, repeatedly agreeing as if the security of all Tokyo truly depended on his protection alone.

“By the way,” the young woman suddenly turned back, looking at the young officer with some shyness, saying coyly: “My name is Shantian Guangzi, and I live at Number 47 Jinghu Road. If you need anything, you can come find me.”

The young officer was stunned for a moment, then nodded vigorously like a pecking chicken. If he didn’t seize this stroke of romantic luck, he wouldn’t be a man.

The young woman smiled back like a devastating beauty, walked gracefully to a BMW 760 parked nearby, started the engine, and the car flowed like water out of the parking lot.

“Hey! Who are you? Stop!” A pair of patrolling officers suddenly approached. Before the young woman could speak, the young officer ran over, shouting loudly: “Let this lady through, she’s not a problem.”

Watching the crowd gradually dispersing ahead, the young woman poked her head out the window, smiled slightly at the officer, then pressed the accelerator and drove out of the Red Sun Building.

August 4th, 2008, 2:10 AM. The entire capital had fallen into peaceful slumber. At this moment, however, the West Conference Hall in Zhongnanhai was brightly lit. Several generals in high-ranking military uniforms sat solemnly in their seats, expressionless, making the atmosphere in this already solemn and dignified conference hall even more oppressive.

Major Li Yang from the Right Military Intelligence Bureau Action Division 9 wore a black suit, his brow furrowed tightly. Standing out from the conference hall’s composure, he occasionally stood up to look toward the door, seemingly waiting for someone.

Five minutes later, footsteps echoed in the hallway outside the West Conference Hall. Everyone present respectfully stood up upon hearing them. Li Yang’s expression changed, and he also stood. The door was slowly pushed open by a steady force, and an elderly man in a gray Zhongshan suit with graying temples walked in with a gentle smile, nodding as he said to everyone: “I apologize for calling everyone here so late at night. Please sit, generals, no need for formality.”

Several people respectfully acknowledged and sat down. Li Yang looked anxious and, without waiting for the elder to ask questions, hurriedly said: “Shouzhang, why was the plan suddenly changed? The Mountain Cat operation proceeded extremely smoothly. Our agent completed it flawlessly. The military cannot interfere with Intelligence Bureau operations—that’s standard practice.”

“Xiao Li, please remain calm.” The elder smiled slightly, and with just this simple gesture, he stopped Li Yang’s following words. He turned to the generals beside him and asked: “How is the operation proceeding? Are all personnel in position?”

A bronze-faced middle-aged general around forty years old answered solemnly: “Yes, all personnel are in position. As soon as we receive the order, we will complete the net-closing operation. Navy Marine Colonel Liu is personally overseeing to ensure the operation’s successful completion. Please rest assured, Shouzhang.”

“Mm,” the elder nodded slightly and said slowly: “Do any of you have objections to this operation?”

The soldiers’ duty is absolute obedience. The several generals remained silent, making no response. Li Yang’s forehead was slightly sweating. He raised his wrist to check the time and saw that five minutes had passed. His entire body couldn’t help but tense up. After thinking, he said urgently: “Shouzhang, I understand the gravity of the situation. However, I don’t see any flaws in this operation. Our Military Intelligence Division 3 and Action Division 9 cooperated fully, making every step—whether intelligence gathering or action—methodical and leaving no trace of evidence. I don’t understand the significance of this cleanup operation. Moreover, the agents we dispatched this time are all national elites who have made countless contributions to our country. I hope…”

  1. Review: 5\10

So, I read the novel attentively up to the chapter 43 and skimmed the rest. I was exited at first, because the prompt is everything that I like: strong and smart, domineering transmigrated FL
And from the start we read about all of her regalia, hew successful missions and unimaginable achievements
But.. those descriptions don’t reflect much on FL’s actual actions. I get that from the start she was a bit confused about where she is and how to accept it. Still, even after she adapted, l’ve been reading about her plans to escape failing over and over, again and … again. Such a great agent can’t even escape the palace, yeah. And every time something that she “didn’t expect” happens. And that something is always some easily predictable deviations from the original plan, that she fails to calculate over and over, again and again.
With her regalia, I expected a person who always has, at least, plan B, C and D, when going on the mission. But she has none of those. I thought it’s just a character development, so I skimmed the further chapters and still kept seeing FL being surprised by something that she didn’t “expect” happening and ruining her plans. And that something is still easily predictable.
In addition, her dominance over ML is just an illusion. Yes, she kicks him when he tries to take her in bed, but on this her dominance ends. She still always needs some guy to rescue her in the end (and it’s not some calculated rescue from the subordinate I’m talking about). If not ML, then other man will do it. She is never the strongest or the smartest, but only talks like she is.
