Yin Feng ate methodically, occasionally glancing up to see her dark crown of hair. The subtle fragrance from her recent bath stirred an unexpected surge of desire and excitement in his heart. He thought with self-deprecation that after all these years, who would have imagined that one day he would find himself employing every seductive technique at his disposal on a fully armed policewoman…
A sudden urge overcame him to reach out and touch the top of her head.
When he desired something, he had to possess it.
Just as his hand began to move, a familiar voice echoed in his mind, saying playfully: “Ah Xu, look, I can curl a bean sprout with my tongue!”
His head throbbed as memories flashed through his mind. He saw himself sitting in the police station’s stark cafeteria, foolishly curling a bean sprout with his tongue and displaying it to the woman like an idiot!
Revolting!
The woman’s face showed disgust as she looked down, yet her lips curved into a subtle smile.
That faint smile in his memory blazed like a beacon.
He could vividly recall his joy at that moment, yet why did a wave of bitterness surge through him now, identical to the ache and longing he’d felt that day after emerging from the swimming pool…
You Mingxu sensed his intensity and looked up to find Yin Feng’s dark gaze fixed upon her, his eyes turbulent with pain. Her heart faltered, and she set down her chopsticks: “What’s wrong?”
Yin Feng lowered his head, concealing the redness rimming his eyes, and replied: “Nothing, just remembered fragments of our past together.”
You Mingxu hesitated, then silently returned to finishing her favorite dish. Yin Feng had anticipated questions – wouldn’t that have created the perfect atmosphere? But her unexpected silence kindled an inexplicable irritation within him, though he kept it hidden.
After dinner, the chef cleared away the dishes and brought out fresh tea, pastries, and fruit. They sat in weighted silence before Yin Feng suggested, “The night’s growing deeper, and the view is better from the other side. Care to look?”
You Mingxu rose, and he guided her to the lake-facing portion of the balcony.
His words proved true – as night descended, stars began to pierce the darkness. From their vantage point, they could see the vast expanse of lakes and mountains, along with Xiangcheng city’s glittering towers. Though barely removed from downtown, this sanctuary offered perfect seclusion with an unmatched view of Yuelu Mountain.
Standing shoulder to shoulder, Yin Feng smiled and said, “I purchased this house nine years ago when the market bottomed out, though it still consumed every royalty payment I’d earned. I knew this was my dream house – isolated from the world with an unparalleled view. I could spend eternity here.”
You Mingxu remained silent.
His arm slid around her shoulders as he murmured, “Ah Xu, forgive me for forgetting everything. The memories are returning gradually now. Give me the chance to find my way back to you?”
You Mingxu’s heart quivered.
No amount of logic could suppress the tiny flame of hope flickering to life within her.
She turned to meet his gaze, her voice husky: “What do you remember?”
Yin Feng’s eyes gleamed like dark water in the night’s glow, fixed intently upon her.
Then a warm, dry palm covered her eyes, plunging her world into darkness.
“Ah Xu, I need you,” he breathed, his voice achingly familiar in its softness.
You Mingxu’s throat tightened as his lips claimed hers. A familiar essence, but with an untamed intensity. His kiss was demanding and passionate, his tongue seeking hers until she had nowhere to retreat. Her inadvertent response only encouraged his fervor.
You Mingxu instinctively tried to pull back, but his hand at her waist held her firmly against the balcony rail, cradling her head as his kiss deepened. He released a low laugh before claiming her mouth more urgently.
This kiss, separated by years and born of sudden passion, overwhelmed her senses. Trapped in his embrace, she felt waves of pleasure radiating from where their tongues met, crashing through her body. Each attempt to escape was met with more intense pursuit; every resistance was countered by a gentle bite to her tongue tip that made her body quiver and melt. His hands, moving with practiced familiarity beneath her uniform, paused briefly before exploring and caressing, leaving her lower back weak with sensation.
After a moment of surrender, You Mingxu released a soft moan and brought her hands to his face. He faltered, and she seized the opportunity to bite back, their tongues entwining frantically. She heard Yin Feng’s stifled groan as his breathing grew ragged. He pressed her harder against the balcony as if trying to merge their bodies into one.
You Mingxu felt that familiar surge of desire return. The urge to lose herself with him, to destroy themselves together, to abandon everything in pursuit of passion. His body, his touch, even his suppressed pants still attracted her with overwhelming intensity. That exquisite, secret pleasure they’d shared countless times before. This time, perhaps due to years of repression and betrayal, the urge was more powerful than ever, seeping into every inch of her skin and bones with his kisses and caresses, threatening to drown her reason entirely.
Yin Feng, too, was unprepared for the intensity of these sensations, and how they caught him completely off guard. He had deliberately flirted with her today, intentionally showing vulnerability by mentioning those scattered memories to soften her heart. In his original plan, this should have been just a taste, a gentle kiss. Showing too much eagerness would be beneath his dignity, and might make her suspicious. He had intended to proceed slowly, drawing her back into his orbit. As for how long this possessiveness would last, how long his interest would remain – that would depend on fate.
But the moment he tasted her essence, that long-absent feeling ignited like fireworks through his body, exploding with violent intensity. His rationality vanished instantly, leaving his body taut with need. He couldn’t control his desperate hunger for more. His eyes had reddened without his awareness, every breath of hers like an intoxicating drug. When she lifted her head to return his kiss, he felt his entire body trembling. A voice in his mind repeatedly cried out: “Ah Xu… Ah Xu…” nearly forcing the words from his throat. When she gently bit his lip, he couldn’t suppress a moan – something that had never happened before. Every move this woman made seemed to strike his most sensitive points.
Breathing heavily, he neither wanted nor could stop. Mere kisses and caresses were insufficient. He unbuttoned her uniform and began kissing her neck, the softness there nearly undoing him completely! Red-eyed in the darkness, he nibbled her neck while whispering in her ear: “Come to my room? It’s just downstairs, let me carry you.”
He knew if he couldn’t have this woman tonight, he might lose control, might go mad.
His answer came in the form of a soft but strong hand pressing against his face, slowly but firmly pushing him away.
