You Mingxu remained silent, lowering her head to try opening the water bottle, but found herself unable to twist it open. Never in her life had she felt this weak. Seeing this, Yin Feng smiled, walked over, and took the bottle from her. As she reached for it, he pulled away, saying, “Aren’t your hands too weak?”

He brought the bottle to her lips, but You Mingxu refused to drink. “Get lost—” Before she could finish, the bottle’s mouth pressed against her lips. “You’ll find out soon enough,” Yin Feng replied. He raised his hand, using his thumb to wipe away water from the corner of her mouth. Still harboring hatred, You Mingxu tried to bite him. He didn’t flinch or dodge, just stared at her, allowing her to bite down. You Mingxu couldn’t bite his finger off, though she tried to apply pressure. But even her jaw felt weak, and she spat out his thumb with a “pah.” He lowered his hand, smiling.

To her surprise, Yin Feng took off his shoes and sat back on the bed.

“What are you doing?” You Mingxu demanded.

Yin Feng casually unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt and replied, “He not only spied on us but recorded my ‘crime’ on his phone. After ‘killing’ you, I was supposedly overcome with remorse. As a psychopath, I would naturally want to sleep next to the corpse for one night. So I can’t show my face upstairs right now. But by tomorrow morning at the latest…”

His eyes darkened. “With our vigilance and methods, we’ll dispose of your ‘corpse.’ Since he has evidence of my ‘crime,’ he’ll surely report to them before this crucial evidence—the ‘corpse’—disappears, to determine their next move. Once they have this fatal leverage, they can control me in the future. The temptation is too great. Even if he suspects this is a trap, he’ll still take the risk and make his move.”

You Mingxu had to admit his reasoning was very convincing.

“So now we just wait?”

Yin Feng, already lying down, nodded. “The villa’s local network is highly encrypted. Chen Feng and I have absolute authority and can see all traces of activity. He can’t risk communicating with the outside through the network. He wouldn’t dare. So he’ll look for a chance to slip out of the villa to find them. Once he makes a move, we’ll follow.”

Between being drugged, fighting, and her emotional accusations, plus the lingering effects of the drug, his words made You Mingxu realize just how exhausted she was. She never mistreated her body, so she turned away from him and closed her eyes.

He fell silent as well, with only the sound of steady breathing near her ear.

You Mingxu was drifting off when she felt a weight on her waist. Opening her eyes, she found Yin Feng’s hand resting there. Irritated, she grabbed his hand and threw it behind her. He didn’t react, so she remained quiet.

But after a while, his hand returned to her waist.

His voice was slightly hoarse: “Go to sleep. Otherwise, I’ll hold you completely.”

You Mingxu’s limbs were still weak, but she gritted her teeth and once again tossed his arm away.

After a moment, his hand returned.

This pattern repeated several times until You Mingxu finally succumbed to exhaustion. Later, Yin Feng slowly opened his eyes behind her, and moved closer, his arm still around her waist, pressing her back against his chest. He pressed his face against her hair and cheek from behind and closed his eyes to sleep.
