Dai Wo You Zui Shi – Chapter 249

You Mingxu’s heart ached with burning intensity as she spotted Tu Ya.

He had come.

They had come.

But Tu Ya… you must stay alive! Don’t die!

The Punishers on the opposite side were also turning back to witness this shocking scene. You Mingxu’s head jerked quickly to the side, her hairpin falling – she stepped on it with her foot.

Yin Chen’s face had already darkened with storm clouds. He naturally recognized Tu Ya as well. His wolf-like eyes, cold and penetrating, fixed on the rear of the vehicle as he ordered, “Draw weapons. One person stays to watch the hostages.”

The Punishers all moved at once, drawing their guns and taking up positions at various angles of the van, ready to strike.

Yin Chen returned to the passenger seat, drawing his weapon in preparation.

You Mingxu’s entire body was taut with tension.

Now there was only one person opposite them, pointing a gun at her and Xing Jifu. Though the van was cramped and they were outnumbered, there was still no opportunity. She glanced at Xing Jifu – he too was alert, his body slightly tensed. At least he wouldn’t be a burden.

You Mingxu calculated quickly in her mind: Yin Feng’s team had mobility superior to the police, and Champion had been able to track her immediately. Given the situation, it seemed there were only a few of them – the main force hadn’t caught up yet. Otherwise, Tu Ya wouldn’t have risked his life to intercept them. This meant what followed would likely be an even more intense and dangerous confrontation.

Since they were in the same boat, she leaned close to Xing Jifu’s ear and whispered, “When the shooting starts, get down.”

Xing Jifu gave her a look and said, “Alright… thank you.”

You Mingxu fell silent.

She didn’t know that after the earlier confrontation with Yin Chen, Xing Jifu’s long-dormant heart had been stirred. Now this underworld patriarch felt an unexpected impulse – if real danger arose, he would willingly use his body to shield his only daughter. For many years, he had rarely put himself in harm’s way. Having this thought now, he surprisingly felt a rush of hot blood and tenderness.

Sure enough, more lights appeared from behind.

Another SUV was catching up.

The Punishers opened fire immediately.

You Mingxu’s heart tightened as she looked out the rear window. The distance was still too great to make out the people in the vehicle. The driver’s skill matched Tu Ya’s, as they skillfully weaved left and right through the gunfire on the narrow mountain road. The bullets only scattered across the sturdy body of the vehicle.

They drew closer and closer.

The Punishers couldn’t seem to do anything about them.

You Mingxu suddenly felt a flash of satisfaction.

This revealed the advantages and disadvantages of the Punishers’ choice to flee in a van. The advantage was that it was inconspicuous and easy to hide in rural villages and countryside. Plus, they were on mountain roads where any vehicle would struggle to build up speed.

But in a firefight and confrontation, it was far inferior to the expensive, impact-resistant, fast-accelerating, highly capable off-road SUV behind them.

Suddenly, three heads popped up from the SUV, returning fire. The Punishers, having just finished a round, were immediately forced to duck back from the concentrated firepower.

Fortunately, both vehicles were moving fast, and the van’s driver was highly skilled, dodging left and right. Neither side had taken any hits yet, only exchanging fire and maintaining the stalemate.

When the shooting started, You Mingxu and Xing Jifu ducked down. However, she quickly noticed that the bullets from behind were almost all aimed at the tires below and the Punishers poking their heads out the windows – hardly any hit the van’s body.

This told her everything she needed to know. She straightened up and through the rear window saw, about twenty meters behind them, the driver with that perpetually sinister smile – who else could it be but Champion?

No wonder the driving skill almost matched Tu Ya’s!

With one glance at the three people in the passenger seat and left and right rear windows, she could identify them by their builds and head shapes as Chen Feng, Xiao Yan, and Lao Jiu.

The person in the middle of the back seat was leaning towards Xiao Yan’s side, their face hidden by the front seat. They were bent over, perhaps also holding a gun. You Mingxu saw their bulletproof vest and long legs, and suddenly her heart was filled with waves of both sweet and bitter emotion.

He had come.

He had brought them all and come.

As if through some telepathic connection, the SUV suddenly accelerated with lightning speed, nearly pulling alongside the van. This startled the Punishers, who cursed inwardly at their opponents’ cunning – after fighting for so long in a stalemate, they had naturally assumed this was the limit of their capability, not knowing they had been holding back, waiting for this sudden move that caught them completely off guard! The van had been overtaken in an instant!

As soon as the SUV pulled up, intense gunfire erupted toward the van, forcing the Punishers to take cover. You Mingxu noticed that the Punisher assigned to watch them was getting restless – though his gun still pointed at her, he kept glancing outside, clearly itching to join the fight.

You Mingxu suddenly realized this situation wasn’t ideal for Yin Feng’s team. With her and Xing Jifu in this van, Yin Feng’s people would naturally be constrained, unable to freely riddle the vehicle with bullets. But the Punishers could fire at will. With both sides being highly skilled, this kind of confrontation would gradually wear down Yin Feng’s team!

What could be done?

A thought suddenly flashed through her mind: if she could understand this, Yin Feng surely could too. So he… must have an ace up his sleeve?

You Mingxu instinctively looked up and witnessed a shocking sight!

The SUV’s rear door suddenly opened mid-drive, and a black, nimble figure leaped out like a monkey, flying toward the van. You Mingxu heard a “boom” on the roof – that person had managed to jump onto the van’s roof at this speed, in the middle of a gunfight!

That familiar agile figure was none other than Xiao Yan!

Was he trying to get himself killed?

The Punishers hadn’t expected this move. Yin Chen reacted fastest, shouting, “Kill him!” The Punishers all raised their guns and fired at the roof! In an instant, it was riddled with bullet holes like a hornet’s nest.

You Mingxu suddenly lunged at the opposing Punisher! The man couldn’t dodge in time and lost his grip on his gun. Just as You Mingxu was about to strike, another still-hot gun barrel was suddenly pressed against her head. She froze and looked up to see another Punisher – his reaction speed had been too fast! He coldly told her, “Sit back down!”

You Mingxu slowly retreated.

The person on the roof seemed to have vanished, making no sound at all. Then Yin Chen noticed that some of the bullet holes were ringed with crimson. Had that person been shot? Yin Chen’s heart eased slightly, though he wasn’t sure if the shot had been fatal.

Just then!

A black figure appeared like a ghost, suddenly hanging upside down outside the driver’s window. A gunshot rang out with a “bang.” The driver had no time to react – one bullet between the eyes, and he slumped over the steering wheel. Yin Chen enraged, fired a shot, and Xiao Yan fell like a bird with clipped wings, tumbling from the roof into the roadside bushes.
