Dai Wo You Zui Shi – Chapter 327: The Finale (11)

The suspect was confirmed.

The suspicious vehicle was confirmed.

The motive was clear.

The most definitive lead at the moment was that van. You Mingxu and her companions immediately rushed to the traffic control center, using Xu Mengshan’s parents’ home as the center point, expanding their search outward to find the vehicle.

In today’s world, surveillance cameras were everywhere. As long as that van was on the road, it would definitely leave traces.

But You Mingxu vaguely understood that Yin Chen was likely acting with impunity.

At the traffic control center.

Xu Mengshan sat with a colleague behind a computer, tracking a route. His eyes were red, his face ashen.

You Mingxu sat at another computer with Yin Feng by her side.

Yin Chen’s trail wasn’t difficult to find. They quickly located several surveillance cameras on nearby roads that had captured the van. Judging by the timestamps, it was easy to distinguish between before and after the crime. They discovered that Yin Chen came and went in two different directions, so they first followed his departure route and continued tracking.

While You Mingxu was completely absorbed in watching the footage, someone suddenly tapped her shoulder. She turned to see Ding Xiongwei.

Yin Feng also noticed Ding Xiongwei and smiled slightly, nodding: “Old Ding.”

Ding Xiongwei particularly disliked this aspect of Yin Feng—ever since he had redeemed himself, he always greeted him with this warm yet somewhat arrogant attitude, resembling a predator that had made itself at home. However, now was not the time to dwell on this.

Ding Xiongwei glanced at Xu Mengshan in the distance and gestured for You Mingxu to follow him outside.

Once outside, Ding Xiongwei remained silent for a moment before saying, “Even if no bodies were left at the scene, Mengshan’s parents are likely in grave danger.”

How could You Mingxu not know this?

Yin Chen was hiding in the shadows, and they couldn’t defend against his every move. As Yin Feng had said, Yin Chen now had nothing left to lose—he could commit any atrocity imaginable.

“What do you need me to do?” You Mingxu asked directly.

Ding Xiongwei smiled bitterly. “Mengshan has had such bad luck. For most people, experiencing something like this once in a lifetime is more than enough, but he… Keep an eye on him. If the worst happens, try to hold him back. Don’t let him see it with his own eyes. Nobody’s heart is made of iron—I don’t want to watch this kid get destroyed.”

You Mingxu said, “I understand. I won’t let anyone destroy him.”

When You Mingxu returned to the room, she discovered that Yin Feng had somehow moved to sit behind Xu Mengshan. As she approached, she heard Yin Feng speaking:

“Based on my understanding of Yin Chen, your aunt and uncle should be safe for now.”

Xu Mengshan seemed to believe him, turning his head with a flicker of hope in his eyes: “Teacher Yin, you’re not just trying to comfort me, are you?”

Yin Feng glanced at him. “Why would I comfort you? You’re not You Mingxu, are you?”

It was an inappropriately cold joke, yet it somehow lightened Xu Mengshan’s heart. He quickly asked, “What do you mean?”

Yin Feng said, “Actually, you understand this too, but you’re just too worried to think clearly. When Yin Chen arrived at your home, he still had plenty of time. If he wanted to kill them, he would have done it on the spot. Why go to all the trouble of taking them away? Instead, he deliberately brought Xing Jifu’s blood to smear on the walls of your home. In other words, he took your parents and left behind the blood of You Mingxu’s father. He’s not just targeting you alone; he has something else in mind.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Yin Feng himself seemed slightly startled.

You Mingxu frowned.

Xu Mengshan remained silent.

Yin Feng stood up, ruffled You Mingxu’s hair, and walked outside. He was about to call Chen Feng when Chen Feng, always seeming to be telepathically connected with him, called first.

“We’ve found Yin Chen’s trail!”

After listening to him, Yin Feng said, “Check something for me immediately.”

“We’ve found a new trail!” a police officer shouted, and everyone gathered around.

After tracing the van’s path from near Xu’s home, it became increasingly difficult to follow as they moved further away—the city was too large. They had lost track of Yin Chen for quite some time. Now they had finally found him again.

It was surveillance footage from an intersection.

The timestamp showed yesterday at approximately 5:05 PM, about 48 minutes after Yin Chen had left Xu’s home.

A tree-lined street, not particularly wide, with two-way traffic flowing steadily. The spotlessly clean van came driving among the traffic flow. As it approached the intersection, it slowly pulled over to the side of the road.

You Mingxu froze the moment she saw this scene.

This was…

Xu Mengshan also felt this road looked extremely familiar, as if it were…

The van was parked neatly in a parking spot. Because of the distance, they couldn’t see Yin Chen’s face, but there was no doubt it was him. He carried a black bag and got out of the car.

About 15 minutes later, he returned, got in the car, and drove away.

“This road is called Luye North Road,” the police officer who discovered the footage said.

“That’s the road outside the side entrance of my residential complex,” You Mingxu spoke up. All the police officers were startled. Xu Mengshan suddenly realized what this meant and was about to rush out, but the door opened from the outside first. Yin Feng walked in, his gaze sweeping across the room before settling on You Mingxu, saying, “Yin Chen has been to your home. I have the video.”

Xu Mengshan halted his steps.

You Mingxu immediately understood. Since Yin Feng had moved into her home last year, Chen Feng and his team had installed secure anti-theft screens and surveillance cameras at the entrance, all windows, and in the living room and two bedrooms. However, when they were at home, the indoor cameras could be turned off. When they weren’t home, the cameras would automatically activate.

The video clip was projected onto the large display screen in front of everyone.

The first segment showed the corridor outside You Mingxu’s home, silent and empty.

Then Yin Chen appeared. He wore the same outfit: black clothes, black pants, and a baseball cap pulled low, hiding his face.

True to their brotherly connection, the video only showed Yin Chen standing at the door, his back to the camera, his hands moving. Moments later, the door opened, and he slipped inside.

He still didn’t care about being recorded.

The second segment switched to the living room.

The living room was dimly lit, completely silent. Yin Chen walked to the center, looked around, and took out something from his backpack—what appeared to be a small box—and placed it on the table.

Then he raised his hand to rub his ear, put down his backpack, and took out several items.

Two ordinary mineral water bottles with their labels removed, except that they were filled with a red, viscous liquid.

And a toy water gun, with its palm-sized “magazine” filled with some dark red liquid.

Then Yin Chen began methodically splashing the red liquid on the walls, patch by patch, line by line, countless red streaks slowly trickling down the walls. Soon, the three walls surrounding the table with the small box were all drenched.

After emptying both bottles, he threw them back into his bag, took out the water gun, and began spraying the walls as if creating artwork. This produced strings of red droplets that traversed through the horrifying deep red patches, like beads of spray rising from a sea of blood.

He kept one hand in his pocket while the other moved with extreme fluidity. It gave the impression that his entire body was relaxed, as if he were taking a casual stroll, yet also conveyed an extreme indifference toward life.
