Dai Wo You Zui Shi – Chapter 67

You Mingxu went with him, looking up at the upper floor. At that moment, the door opened, and Chen Feng walked out. Upon seeing You Mingxu, she immediately smiled, “Miss You, you’re here. Teacher Yin has been waiting for a while.” Then she nodded at the young man behind You Mingxu.

The two went upstairs, and Chen Feng said to the young man, “Please wait a moment. Teacher Yin will see her first.” The young man quickly nodded, saying, “No problem, no problem. Teacher Yin should take care of her business first. I’ll just wait here.” He smiled at You Mingxu again, appearing quite shy and bashful.

You Mingxu couldn’t be bothered with pleasantries; a precious person was waiting for her inside. She followed Chen Feng in, and the door closed behind them.

It was an unexpectedly vast room, perhaps over two hundred square meters—the entire second floor had been opened up. Facing them was a long row of floor-to-ceiling windows, dropping down from the four-meter-high ceiling, reflecting the endless lake view outside. The remarkable thing was that in such a large space, aside from a desk, bookshelves, and some mannequins on one side, the remaining half was empty. The floor was laid with natural wood planks, polished to a warm luster. The massive desk was three meters long and two meters wide, while the bookshelf occupied an entire wall, reaching up to the ceiling. The walls were covered in soft, white fabric and adorned with a few paintings. Beyond that, there was nothing else.

You Mingxu stood there, somewhat dazed. She found that such a study, despite its emptiness, gave off a rather comfortable feeling. How could such a vast, exaggerated space create such a quiet, warm atmosphere?

Had the former Yin Feng spent his time writing alone in this study? When he looked up, he would see endless mountains through the window, and when he looked down, all he saw were pure, silent colors.

“Yoohoo—” A long, clear cheer interrupted You Mingxu’s thoughts. Her eyelid twitched almost simultaneously as she watched Yin Feng, legs curled up in a wheeled office chair, whoosh past her like a gust of wind.

You Mingxu had no idea how long he had been playing like this, but his face was already slightly flushed, his eyes sparkling. As he “flew” past her, he was radiating brilliant energy.

Chen Feng kept her head down, completely unsurprised by his behavior.

You Mingxu watched as he frantically braked with his feet just before hitting the wall, then shifted his weight to drag the chair around, turning like a large duck, his feet going “pat pat pat” on the floor as he paddled back to the starting point.

“Ah Xu, come play too,” he said. “I’ll push you.”

“Play by yourself,” You Mingxu walked slowly toward the desk, examining its surface and then the towering bookshelf beside it. Many books showed signs of wear, evidence of their former owner’s extensive scholarship.

Seeing that he couldn’t attract her attention, Yin Feng’s enthusiasm dimmed. He abandoned the chair and walked behind her.

Chen Feng’s eyebrows lifted slightly: finally, it was over. As expected, You Mingxu’s arrival could save any situation.

Near the desk, there were five or six life-sized wooden dolls. At first glance, they could be mistaken for real people. You Mingxu moved closer for a careful look and discovered that the dolls’ body contours, limb structures, and even facial expressions were carved with extraordinary detail and realism—each one was practically a treasure. Moreover, their joints appeared to be movable.

“May I touch them?” she asked.

Yin Feng glanced at them and said, “If you like them, you can have them all.”

You Mingxu laughed, “My home isn’t big enough.” She picked up a female doll’s hand, and sure enough, it could move and be posed in different positions.

While she examined the doll, Yin Feng showed little interest. Tired from his earlier “roller skating” game, he squatted down, propping his chin with both hands and stared up at her unblinkingly.

When You Mingxu happened to look down, she saw him at her feet.

You Mingxu found it strange—how could someone with such a devastatingly handsome face live each day like a little sunflower?

You Mingxu kicked him lightly, saying, “Get up, are you a dog?”

He stood up slowly, and You Mingxu continued manipulating the doll. Suddenly, he reached out and hugged her from behind.

You Mingxu’s whole body stiffened. She looked up to see Chen Feng had turned away, pretending to check her phone. Yin Feng didn’t try anything further, just held her and rested his face against the back of her head, nuzzling her hair with his whole face.

You Mingxu commanded sharply, “Let go!”

He slowly released her, letting out a soft laugh—even a deaf person could hear the joy he could barely contain. Then he immediately put on a serious expression and picked up one of the dolls, studying it intently.

You Mingxu glanced at him a few times from the corner of her eye, then lowered her head to continue examining the doll. But her face began to flush uncontrollably, which filled her with frustration and anger. She shot him another fierce glare, but he remained oblivious.

You Mingxu composed herself and asked Chen Feng, “What are these dolls for?”

Chen Feng answered, “They’re works of art in themselves, made by a folk artist Teacher Yin knew. Teacher Yin even sponsored him. Also, Teacher Yin said that when writing, there are often action sequences, and having these dolls helps him write more vividly and accurately.”

You Mingxu understood—so these dolls were Yin Feng’s writing models. How meticulous. She quickly positioned one doll in a fighting stance, then stood opposite it, lowering her brow, drawing in her shoulders and chest, raising both fists: “Like this?”

Chen Feng nodded with a smile.

Yin Feng, however, felt that even with such a simple pose, her rebellious spirit naturally radiated through. This made his heart feel as if it had been struck, feeling both sweetly soft and somewhat painful.

He liked her this way.

Yet he also hoped she wouldn’t always be like this. He hoped that most of the time she could be soft, not needing to protect others, but instead letting him… care for her.

You Mingxu glanced at him, “What are you spacing out about?”

“I want a reward,” his tone suddenly became stubborn. “Tonight I want one reward.”

You Mingxu turned away from him with an indifferent expression: “No way.”

Afterward, Yin Feng and Chen Feng met with the young artist who had been waiting at the door. You Mingxu, not wanting to disturb them and having no particular interest, went to look around the adjacent gym.

Following Chen Feng’s instructions, Yin Feng sat properly in the executive chair, maintaining a neutral expression.

The young man’s eyes lit up with joy upon seeing him, first expressing how much their company colleagues missed him. Yin Feng smiled and nodded, appearing very proper.

The young man then took off his art board and showed Yin Feng the latest character design sketches. Yin Feng immediately picked up the board, examining it intently. The young man glanced at Chen Feng, who shook her head almost imperceptibly.

The young man just smiled gently and asked, “What do you think of these character designs? If you have any suggestions, I can make more modifications.”

Even though Yin Feng had lost his memories, he could see that each drawing in his hands was exquisitely detailed and lifelike. Moreover, though the drawings were two-dimensional, each character carried a distinct aura—you could feel their inner impact just from the images.
