Yin Feng lay sprawled on the bed, his face flushed and expression dazed. His forehead was beaded with sweat that spoke of both distress and confusion. He was barely dressed and appeared to be in an altered state.
His clothing was disheveled, revealing his slender frame.
A woman knelt on the bed, attempting to remove his clothes. He kept his eyes closed, brows furrowed, weakly waving his hands as if trying to push her away, but his movements were feeble.
Hearing the sudden noise, the woman looked up in surprise.
You Mingxu strode forward and firmly removed the woman from the bed.
The woman stumbled several times with a cry of pain, but You Mingxu paid no attention, instead turning to look at the man on the bed. Yin Feng’s eyes were still half-closed, and when he saw her, he smiled foolishly: “Ah Xu… Ah Xu, you’re here… I was looking everywhere for you… Ah Xu…” He reached out toward her.
You Mingxu froze for a moment, then caught his hand and held it down. She checked his condition – his skin was hot and covered in sweat.
When she grabbed his hand, Yin Feng instinctively curled toward her, clutching her hand and trying to embrace her. You Mingxu’s expression remained unchanged as she quickly withdrew her hand and struck him across the face. Even then, he remained unaware, still trying to move closer to her. You Mingxu simply grabbed the blanket and swiftly wrapped him up, restricting his movement.
The woman You Mingxu had thrown was still sitting on the floor, her clothing disheveled. “Who… who are you?” she asked, staring at You Mingxu.
You Mingxu, her heart as cold as ice, sat down firmly on the blanket to keep Yin Feng still. She looked at the woman and asked coldly, “And what exactly are you?”
The woman bit her lip and stood up, adjusting her dress. She smiled and said, “I’m Teacher Yin’s girlfriend. We were together for six months before his accident.” She showed off a sparkling diamond ring on her finger. Looking at You Mingxu, she hesitated before adding, “Are you the new security guard? Hmph… no wonder you don’t know me. Shouldn’t you leave?”
You Mingxu stared at her for several seconds before smiling. “Girlfriend? If you were his girlfriend, why did you need to drug him? Don’t you know he hasn’t fully recovered? How dare you use such substances?”
The woman stiffened, her lips trembling. After a moment of tense silence between the two women, she curved her lips into a smile. “How would I know? Teacher Yin used to enjoy such things before, for pleasure.”
You Mingxu remained silent for a moment while the man beneath her continued to struggle. She pressed down harder, causing him to groan in pain. “Get out,” she commanded, then called out loudly, “Chen Feng, get in here!”
The woman grew angry: “You…” But You Mingxu’s commanding presence was too intimidating for her to approach. Shortly after, Chen Feng appeared, dressed hastily in a shirt and trousers, clearly having just gotten up. Taking in the scene, he glanced at You Mingxu, then carefully examined the woman. “You’re… Shu Xue? Why are you here? How did you get in? This is outrageous!” Without waiting for You Mingxu’s instructions, he grabbed the woman and began dragging her out.
The woman’s lips trembled as she protested, “Yin Feng was hurt, what’s wrong with me coming to comfort him? Who is this woman? Why are you listening to her? Can’t I just stay with Yin Feng for one night? Maybe when he wakes up…”
Chen Feng’s expression hardened as he forcefully removed her despite her struggles.
The room fell silent. You Mingxu jumped off the bed and turned to look at Yin Feng, who was sweating more profusely now, moaning softly, his face flushed and his consciousness impaired.
You Mingxu stood watching him for a while, then finally sat down on the edge of the bed, rigid as a statue.
Chen Feng soon returned, his face grim. “My apologies, Miss Yu. Shu Xue was just an acquaintance of Teacher Yin’s, nothing more. She somehow heard he was back and managed to sneak in. The situation is delicate given their public profiles. I’ll warn her and send her away. This won’t happen again.”
“If she’s truly his friend, there’s no need to chase her away,” You Mingxu said slowly. “If Yin Feng wants her company, let her stay. Perhaps doing things he used to enjoy might help recover his memories.”
Chen Feng seemed caught between amusement and frustration. “You must be joking. Teacher Yin has no interest in seeing other women now.”
You Mingxu made a soft sound of derision.
“I’ll handle this,” Chen Feng said. “I’ve called a doctor. Please watch him for me.” He left without waiting for her response, closing the door behind him.
Silence fell again. You Mingxu sat motionless, her face expressionless. Time passed slowly.
Then a hand emerged from the blanket and embraced her from behind.
You Mingxu turned to look at him. His handsome face was flushed, his short hair damp with sweat. Those usually clear eyes were now filled with confusion. His entire body radiated heat as he freed himself from the blanket and tried to hold onto her.
You Mingxu remained perfectly still.
He moved closer silently, pressing his forehead against hers, breathing heavily as he called out anxiously yet joyfully: “Ah Xu… You Mingxu… You Mingxu…”
After a moment of silence, You Mingxu smiled. “What do you want?”
He took a breath, staring at her with clouded eyes. “I don’t know… I feel terrible, yet wonderful… Ah Xu, I can’t take it anymore… I’m so uncomfortable…”
To emphasize his point, his arms suddenly tightened around her, pressing their bodies closer together.
You Mingxu observed his confused, almost frantic expression. Though his embrace was warm, her heart grew colder. She felt a trace of bitter amusement.
She grabbed his chin and asked firmly, “What are you trying to do?”
Though he seemed unsure of her meaning, instinct made him nod.
Then he saw this cold-faced woman smile slightly. Before he could process what was happening, she had easily pinned him to the bed, her hands firmly holding his shoulders.
He smiled foolishly, reaching up to embrace her.
