The Inspector quietly looked at Bai Youwei, then said nothing. It indifferently withdrew its gaze and said: “The game begins—”
According to the order specified by the rules, the Inspector was at the starting position, which meant first place.
Its fingers lightly tapped on the table as it smiled: “Five ‘bombs’—how terrifying… Then what I choose is, of course, a white card. Truth.”
It randomly selected a card from the white cards and gently flipped it open.
The card displayed a line of text:
**[Truth: What is your greatest weakness?]**
The Inspector slightly raised an eyebrow, looking at them with an inquiring gaze.
Shen Mo said indifferently: “I wrote it.”
The Inspector smiled slightly upon hearing this: “Mm, it’s a good question.”
For ordinary people, this was a very easy question to answer—not enough to be eliminated for being unable to answer.
But for the Inspector, it was an extremely sensitive question. Once it gave an answer, it would leave the players with leverage, especially when the black cards hid challenges like “Kill this game’s Inspector.”
If it told the truth, it might very well die because of it.
But if it didn’t speak, it would also be eliminated.
The Inspector thought for a while, then answered: “My greatest weakness is the system. The system grants me power but also restricts my freedom and determines my life and death.”
It raised its eyes to look at Shen Mo, the corner of its mouth hooking into a smile: “If you want to ask what the system is, sorry—that’s a second question.”
Shen Mo’s eyes turned slightly cold.
“According to your plan, next you’ll choose a black card, right?” The Inspector smiled faintly. “It’s your turn. I’m very much looking forward to it.”
Shen Mo frowned as he looked at those six black cards. Without much hesitation, he reached out to select one and flipped it—
**[Dare: Do you dare to go to the courtyard and pick a flower?]**
Shen Mo was stunned.
Not only was he stunned—the others were too.
Bai Youwei quickly raised her head to look at Zhang Qi, Wu Lili, and Zhu Xiaofen. “Who wrote this?”
This definitely wasn’t written by the Inspector!
The Inspector would love to kill them—it couldn’t possibly write such a simple challenge!
Zhang Qi and Wu Lili’s faces both showed shock and confusion. Only Zhu Xiaofen’s face changed through various expressions. When she noticed everyone was looking at her, she stammered: “It’s… it’s me. I wrote it.”
“Hey! Why did you write randomly?!” Wu Lili immediately became anxious.
“I… I was afraid that if the Inspector didn’t draw it, then… then we would have to draw…” She explained in panic without much confidence. “Now that your brother drew it, isn’t that fine? As long as the remaining five black cards… have four written as required, there’s still an 80% probability. It’s not much different, right?”
She said this while looking at Bai Youwei with pleading and flattery. “Although I didn’t write as required… your brother is saved because of it. This way… there’s no real impact, right?”
Bai Youwei’s lips curled mockingly. “You mean I should thank you?”
Zhu Xiaofen shook her head awkwardly: “No… I didn’t mean that…”
“Wasn’t what I said earlier clear enough? My brother has a way to save his life. No matter what card he draws, he won’t die. What you did, besides dragging down your own survival chances, has no meaning whatsoever.” Bai Youwei was so angry she didn’t even want to get angry anymore. She said indifferently: “Forget it, whatever. You can’t wake up stupid people.”
The Inspector gently reminded Shen Mo: “Then, please begin your Dare.”
Shen Mo was silent for two seconds, stood up from his seat, and walked toward the banquet hall door.
The dolls in the hall also twisted their necks to look at him. Faint, fluctuating calling voices floated in the air:
“Come back… come back…”
“Be friends with us…”
“Join the party, play with us…”
“Come back…”
Shen Mo turned a deaf ear, pushed open the banquet hall door, and walked straight out.
A moment later, some kind of beast’s roaring sound came from outside.
