Chapter 3: Where Is the Finish Line

Perhaps because the scene was too bizarre, everyone’s pace slowed down, warily watching the rabbit-headed gentleman.

“Hello everyone, I am the inspector for this game. Welcome to the Doll Game.”

Though still some distance away, the rabbit-headed gentleman’s voice rang out clearly in the air—a gentle female voice.

However, at this moment, no matter how gentle the voice, it couldn’t calm the terror in everyone’s hearts.

“Who are you? Did you bring us to this place?!” Someone bold enough voiced the question.

The rabbit-headed person held a top hat in hand, voice gentle and calm: “Please have all contestants stand at the starting position. The race will begin when the starting gun sounds. Cross the correct finish line to enter the next round. There are three rounds of competition in total…”

“Hey! I’m asking you a question. Can’t you hear?!” A burly man, red with anger, strode over and grabbed the rabbit-headed person’s neck. “Wearing a headpiece to play ghost! Speak! How do we get out of this cursed place?!”

Though the rabbit-headed person’s figure was tall and slender, their limbs were thin. Combined with the gentle female voice, they didn’t seem threatening. It was precisely because of this that the burly man dared to boldly grip the other’s throat.

At this moment, though its thin neck was gripped by the burly man, the voice continued to transmit without obstruction—

“This game has three rounds of competition. When the starting gun sounds, the race begins. Cross the correct finish line…”

“Enough!” The burly man roared furiously. “I didn’t come here to play games! Speak! How do we get out! Otherwise I’ll strangle you!”

Boom!

Blue flames exploded! Simultaneously emitting a muffled sound!

The burly man’s body violently convulsed in an instant! As if struck by lightning, his entire body charred black, falling to the ground and crumbling like charcoal!

The rabbit-headed person tilted its head, gently brushing the black ash from its shoulder. The fur on its neck was clearly exposed, making people finally understand—it wasn’t wearing a headpiece! It truly had a rabbit head!

“Ah… Monster, monster!” The long-haired woman collapsed weakly on the ground, her legs trembling.

Her husband grabbed her arm, wanting to flee together. Turning around, however, he discovered that on the originally open, flat green meadow, hundreds of rabbits had appeared!

Each rabbit was as large as a wolf dog!

They were snow-white all over with blood-red eyes. Below their three-lobed mouths, sharp teeth were bared, constantly grinding with a hair-raising gnashing sound.

The scene before them was truly too horrifying. Bai Youwei couldn’t help shrinking into Shen Mo’s embrace.

She didn’t forget to look up at Shen Mo and found that though his expression was grim, he was relatively calm, not panicked and confused like the others.

The rabbit-headed person stood calmly before them: “Please have all contestants quickly proceed to the designated starting position.”

Bai Youwei followed its gesture toward the starting point. Those giant rabbits were also moving there, climbing onto the track one by one, crowding behind the starting line.

…The Tortoise and the Hare.

The rabbits were already here. So then, were they—these people—the tortoises?

“Excuse me…” Bai Youwei clenched her teeth and raised her hand to ask, “In my condition, do I also need to participate?”

The rabbit-headed person turned its head, its gaze falling on Bai Youwei. After pausing a moment, it apologized warmly and politely: “I see. That was my oversight.”

Then, its hand wearing a white glove reached into the top hat, and a pair of crutches was pulled out from the top hat!

Bai Youwei’s heart seized violently!

Just like her crutches!… No, these were her crutches! The folding crutches she’d packed in her luggage!

The rabbit-headed person could easily retrieve objects from the outside world. Did this mean that if they wanted to leave here, they had to act according to its words?

But even if it gave her crutches, she still couldn’t possibly outrun that group of rabbits bigger than dogs!

At this moment, Shen Mo, who had remained silent, asked: “Where is the finish line?”

The rabbit-headed person raised its hand and pointed toward the other end of the track—
