Chapter 313: Trading for Puzzles

Teacher Cheng asked, “How do we write it? Is there a standard format?”

The staff member casually picked out a few expired notices to show them as examples.

Every one of them followed more or less the same structure: the first line stated the item being offered, the second line listed what was wanted in exchange, and at the bottom was a contact address.

Bai Youwei took the paper and pen and wrote:

“Trading for used puzzles. Terms negotiable. Available for trade:…”

She paused, pen in hand, thinking it over, then continued:

“Improved flower seeds: within 24 hours, blooms into a sea of flowers regardless of season or environment. Once it absorbs vital essence, the blooming period can last for a very long time.”

The onlookers around her began to murmur among themselves.

“It’s an offensive item! And it can attack over a wide area!”

“Is it like the kind from that plants-versus-zombies game? Plant a ring of flowers and you don’t have to worry anymore — hey, not bad at all!”

“Is there a game nearby that calls for this?”

“Not sure… but if you run into one, this item would be incredibly useful.”

“…Hey, quick, look! She’s writing more!”

Bai Youwei continued: “Starter pistol: within a 10-meter radius, all people will run at full speed. Effectiveness is influenced by distance, environmental factors, and individual willpower. The holder of the gun is unaffected by the sound.”

“Running at full speed? What use is that item?”

“That girl has quite a collection of items…”

“If she’s willing to trade it, she definitely has plenty in reserve. But it seems less useful than the flower seeds just now…”

“You can’t compare them like that — it depends on the specific environment.” A middle-aged man in the crowd spoke up. “If the game takes place on a boat, a bridge, or a sheer cliff, or over a volcanic crater — if you had an item like this in hand, the result would be unimaginable.”

People pictured the scenario in their minds and fell silent one by one, their expressions grim.

And Bai Youwei’s pen still had not stopped.

“Substitute doll: functions as a second body for the user…”

She hadn’t even finished writing, and sharp intakes of breath were already rippling through the crowd!

Even Yan Qingwen frowned and stepped forward, pressing a hand over her paper, and said quietly, “An item like this is better kept for your own safety.”

Bai Youwei paused, looking up at him.

Yan Qingwen held her gaze. “Two items are more than enough to exchange for puzzles.”

Bai Youwei smiled with easy indifference. “Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing.”

Lu Ang and Zhu Shu stood off to the side, expressions complicated.

Yan Qingwen released the paper, and couldn’t help thinking quietly: everything this young lady does is too risky. Shen Mo really needs to come back and keep an eye on her, or sooner or later something will go wrong.

Bai Youwei finished writing the rest:

“…as a second body for the user, it endures all damage for 36 hours until it is completely destroyed. Interested parties may contact: Kangding Road… Building 5, Unit 102.”

Teacher Cheng borrowed some tape from the staff member and stuck Bai Youwei’s notice onto the trade board.

Before it was even properly secured, someone couldn’t hold back: “I want to trade for the third item! How many puzzles does it take?”

The person’s voice was loud. The entire exchange post, which had been buzzing with noise, fell abruptly quiet.

Countless eyes converged on Bai Youwei.

Bai Youwei glanced at them, her voice soft and unhurried:

“That, of course… goes to the highest bidder~”

The moment her words landed —

The quiet became quieter.

The silence deepened further.

Bai Youwei wheeled her chair toward the exit and stopped at the doorway.

“Oh, by the way.” She turned her head back, a smile on her face. “If you’re not satisfied with these few items, I have other items available. You’re welcome to come find me to trade. Remember — only puzzles will do. Anything else, I’m not interested.”

She left in high spirits.

Behind her, a crowd of people stood with all manner of expressions on their faces.

Yan Qingwen looked around, sighed inwardly, and led the group after Bai Youwei.
