She rode the enormous ragdoll cat, crashing down to the ground. The triangular spike, like the Grim Reaper’s scythe, sliced and shattered everything in its path!
Yan Qingwen ran down the preplanned route, raising his voice to shout: “Left side!!!”
Lu Ang on the left summoned every ounce of strength, and the fire basin toppled together with its frame!
Mali and the cat immediately dodged.
Yan Qingwen shouted again: “Right side!”
The fire basin on the other side came crashing down too!
Mali rode the cat, frantically weaving aside, only to collide with a bonfire. The stacked logs collapsed exactly as calculated! The ground was slicked with molten wax oil that splattered all over the cat’s paws! The flames rapidly spread across its entire body, like a wheel of fire rolling along, blazing more fiercely the further it rolled!
Yet against everyone’s expectations —
The cat was nearly entirely engulfed in flames, yet Mali refused to climb down from its back!
Per the original plan, they would have moved to eliminate her the instant Mali and the cat separated — but now, hampered by the raging fire, they were in a difficult position and couldn’t get close!
Mali’s red shoes were scorched and melted, her socks burned to crumbling ash that scattered downward, and her beautiful puffy skirt caught fire too!
And her most beloved cloth doll — one of its braids was swallowed by the flames!
“Aaahhhh!!!” She tore the cloth doll away and flung it as hard as she could! Her entire body went into a frenzied, furious screaming — not from pain, but from rage!
“I’m going to kill all of you! I’ll kill every last one of you!!!”
Yan Qingwen had originally retreated to a safe zone, but seeing the situation turn bad, he immediately called out loudly to warn Shen Mo and Lu Ang: “She’s going to spread the fire! Move, now!!!”
Mali turned and looked toward the direction of Yan Qingwen’s voice. Through the flames, her small face was burned black and twisted, layers of black adhesive melting away, making her look utterly terrifying at that moment!
She rode the ragdoll cat, which was wreathed in flames from head to tail, and charged out of the ring of fire!
Everywhere she passed — roaring flames! Tongues of fire running rampant!
Not far away, Bai Youwei said urgently: “The fire is too big — I can’t use the rabbit!”
Once the plush rabbit touched any of that burning wax oil, it would be reduced to ashes!
Shen Mo pushed his wheelchair outward and stopped at an intersection, instructing her: “You go first — I’ll go help Yan Qingwen!”
“Brother!” Shen Fei came running from a distance.
Shen Mo’s brow furrowed tightly. “Why are you here? Didn’t I tell all of you to find somewhere to hide first?”
“I came to help you!” Shen Fei’s face was also filled with anxiety. “And besides, when I saw the fire blazing so fiercely on your end, how could I just sit still?”
Shen Mo had no time to reproach him now. He quickly shoved the wheelchair’s armrest into Shen Fei’s hands, and said in a low, stern voice: “You and Youwei leave this place now. I’ll withdraw with Yan Qingwen from another route, and meet at the clock tower after it’s done!”
Having said that, he picked up his weapon and sprinted in Yan Qingwen’s direction, drawing steadily closer to where Mali and the cat were.
Bai Youwei bit her lip, hand gripping the rabbit tightly, eyes fixed on the man’s retreating figure.
“Let’s go quickly!” Shen Fei pushed the wheelchair and ran down another path.
“Wait!” Bai Youwei turned back. Watching Shen Mo’s silhouette gradually obscured by thick smoke, she finally could hold back no longer, and hurled the rabbit with all her might!
“Go help him!” she cried out.
The rabbit was important, but Shen Mo was more important!
Shen Fei’s opinion of her shifted somewhat because of this action, though this wasn’t the time to be thinking about such trivial things. He pushed the wheelchair and ran at full speed, only to catch a glimpse of Jiang Hao appearing out of nowhere, also sprinting in their direction!
“Why are you here too?!” Shen Fei called out loudly as he ran. “Did something go wrong with your escape route?!”
Jiang Hao gave no answer, only flashing him a smile — a smile that was eerily strange.
He was fast, running parallel to them, only a flower bed between them.
Bai Youwei was being jolted about violently in the wheelchair and, thoroughly irritated, scolded Shen Fei: “Are you a complete idiot? The direction is totally wrong — he’s clearly been following us the whole time! He’s planning something underhanded!”
“What?!” Shen Fei was stunned. He couldn’t believe it, and looked toward Jiang Hao again.
