“Hurry up and carry me! Forget the wheelchair!” Bai Youwei shouted.
Jiang Hao heard what she said too — the smile at the corner of his mouth turned colder, as if he no longer bothered maintaining his pretense. At the end of the flower bed, he suddenly closed in! Reaching out with both hands clad in white gloves!
Even without knowing what the white gloves did, just seeing him reach out like that was frightening enough!
Shen Fei, in a panic to evade, gripped the armrests and wrenched the wheelchair sideways, but this caused it to tilt outward. Bai Youwei flew out from the inertia, biting down hard on her teeth as she hit the ground in pain.
“You bastard…” she fumed as she propped herself up on her arms. “Shen Fei! That’s the second time you’ve dumped me on the ground! You’d better remember this!”
“Run!!!” Shen Fei had no time for more words. He rushed over, scooped her up, and ran forward at full speed!
Jiang Hao, however, stopped — to pick up the canvas bag that had fallen to the ground, which bought them a moment.
But when he pulled open the zipper and saw the bag stuffed full of nothing but snacks, his face immediately twisted with fury! Then in a fit of frustrated rage, he threw the canvas bag aside and gave chase to Shen Fei and Bai Youwei once more!
“Run faster! He’s catching up again!” Bai Youwei urged.
Shen Fei was drenched in sweat, gasping for breath. “This is already my top speed!!!”
Bai Youwei said in exasperation: “Then stop running and take him down!”
Shen Fei had no confidence: “I don’t even know what those gloves of his do…”
At that moment, another figure burst out from the road ahead!
“Whoa! What’s going on?!” Tan Xiao stared at them with wide eyes. “Why is there such a huge fire? Why is Jiang Hao chasing you two?”
Bai Youwei immediately said: “Tan Xiao! You and Shen Fei figure out a way to take Jiang Hao down! …Where are you running off to?!”
Her words weren’t even finished before she saw Tan Xiao turn and bolt!
Tan Xiao was shouting up ahead at the top of his lungs: “The cat’s coming! — The cat’s coming! —”
Tan Xiao charging in front, Shen Fei carrying Bai Youwei right behind, Jiang Hao in relentless pursuit, and further back, Mali and the cat came blazing forward in a torrent of flames!
The cat’s speed was terrifying!
Most of the fabric and stuffing had burned away, exposing an indestructible steel skeleton beneath, thundering along the ground with massive booming footfalls! Where was there anything resembling a cat about it now?
This was clearly an iron monster!
“Don’t run wild! Run along the escape routes I showed you!” Bai Youwei yelled ahead.
Tan Xiao seemed to only then remember this was a thing, his two legs scrambling to make a sharp turn, ducking around behind the “Magic Flying Fish” attraction along the road.
Only now did the escape routes Bai Youwei had designed begin truly proving their worth.
They ran into the narrow alley between two buildings. The ragdoll cat couldn’t fit in — exactly as Bai Youwei had predicted, it leaped up to the rooftop, only to find a dense canopy of sun umbrellas below, packed so tightly it was impossible to tell where Tan Xiao and Bai Youwei and the others had run off to.
Mali cursed furiously and rode the cat to spring down, sweeping all the sun umbrellas aside in one pass — not realizing that Bai Youwei and the others hadn’t passed through the alley at all. They had used the umbrellas to draw Mali’s attention and doubled back out of the alley, running off in the other direction —

“What in the world is happening?!” Tan Xiao ran as he gasped loudly. “How did the cat turn into that thing?! Where’s Brother Mo? Why is it just you two? And what’s going on between you and Jiang Hao, Shen Fei? Your escape route was on the other side! What is going on?!”
Tan Xiao rattled off a whole string of questions, but no one answered him.
He slowed down, leaning against the wall, catching his breath. “I’m going to die of exhaustion — I can’t run anymore…”
Shen Fei’s pace also slowed. Running at full sprint for so long had drained a great deal of his stamina.
Bai Youwei spotted Jiang Hao gaining on them from behind — he now had two axes in his hands, his gaze cold and fixed on them.
A sense of foreboding rose silently in her heart. The next second, she saw Jiang Hao hurl one of the axes at them!
“Everyone get down!” Bai Youwei shouted urgently.
“What?” Shen Fei hadn’t reacted yet. Just as he was turning to see what was behind him, the axe slammed into his back with a thud!
