Chapter 246: Spring Warmth

Chu Li was reaching out to help her put on a flower hairpin when he heard her words. His hand paused slightly, and his intense gaze fixed on Mu Yunjin’s profile.

“You’re entrusting everything to this prince?”

Chu Li’s voice carried a hint of huskiness. His warm breath tickled Mu Yunjin’s cheek, making her feel a tingling sensation as she shrank her neck slightly.

When she turned her face, she caught glimpses of intimacy flowing in Chu Li’s eyes.

Mu Yunjin pursed her lips, knowing that her previous words had surely caused this man to misunderstand. Somehow, even her face reddened as she extended her elbow to nudge Chu Li beside her.

Chu Li chuckled softly, picked up the hairpin, and gently placed it in her hair bun.

The few people behind them tactfully walked out.

Mu Yunjin sat at the dressing table, watching Chu Li’s exceptionally careful movements. Her eyes filled with increasing amusement. “It seems even Prince Ning has his weaknesses.”

“Mmm,” Chu Li acknowledged. “I’ll get better with practice.”

Mu Yunjin raised an eyebrow. Seeing that he had finished helping her put on the hairpins, she handed him the eyebrow pencil from the table. “If you ruin my eyebrows, I won’t let you off easily, hmph.”

Mu Yunjin’s tone carried a hint of ‘warning,’ as she suddenly discovered how interesting it was to boss Chu Li around.

Chu Li took the eyebrow pencil, turned Mu Yunjin’s body to face him, and bent down slightly to help draw her eyebrows. However, he found her staring at him unblinkingly with her watery eyes.

Chu Li inexplicably felt his entire body tense up. This woman was truly maddening.

“Close your eyes,” Chu Li’s breathing grew heavy.

Mu Yunjin gave Chu Li a strange look. It was just drawing eyebrows—so many rules.

Despite her thoughts, she obediently closed her eyes, her lips curving into a subtle smile.

Chu Li felt he had truly surrendered to this woman. With her eyes open, she stirred his heart and soul; now with her eyes closed, her head tilted up towards him, her rosy lips still carrying a smile.

No matter how he looked at her, he wanted to hold her tightly in his arms and kiss her passionately.

Mu Yunjin waited for a long time without any movement from Chu Li. Just as she was about to open her eyes to check, she felt a shadow drawing near, cradling her head and covering her mouth.

Mu Yunjin abruptly opened her eyes to see a face magnified countless times before her.

Chu Li kissed her lips forcefully, one hand supporting her head, the other already wandering to her waist, holding her tightly in his embrace as if trying to meld her into his body.

Mu Yunjin was instantly dazed by Chu Li’s kiss, her entire body turning soft as water, without an ounce of strength left.

As their lips and teeth intertwined, the temperature in the room seemed to rise higher and higher.

Chu Li’s breathing gradually became heavier, his gaze increasingly intense. He bent down to pick up the seated Mu Yunjin and carried her toward the couch.

Lying on the soft couch, Mu Yunjin opened her eyes slightly. Her cloak had already been removed by Chu Li, leaving her wearing only her nightgown. Chu Li’s hands were now undoing the buttons of her gown.

Compared to the last time, Chu Li’s speed at undoing buttons was much faster this time. He quickly pulled off her gown, leaving only a pink lotus breast cloth on her body.

Chu Li’s lips found their way back to her neck.

Mu Yunjin’s heart was racing. Although she had never experienced such things before, she knew what was about to happen.

Although she had previously told Chu Li that she would fully give herself to him on their wedding night only after he promised her a new wedding ceremony…

Now, after everything they’d been through, Mu Yunjin didn’t want to be so fastidious anymore.

A few days ago, she had already faced death once in the Ice Cave. Who knew what dangerous situation she might suddenly encounter next? To put it bluntly, she had made so many enemies—what if she didn’t live to see the next wedding night?

Besides, the person before her was Chu Li… the person she loved most in this strange world. What reason did she have to hesitate now?

Although Chu Li was suffering from restraint before receiving Mu Yunjin’s consent, he was still willing to respect her wishes. Just as he was trying his hardest to calm his breathing, a pair of fair and smooth arms suddenly embraced his neck.

Chu Li stiffened slightly, looking down at the small woman beneath him.

Mu Yunjin opened her eyes and, upon meeting Chu Li’s gaze, her face turned crimson. She shyly averted her eyes and softly whispered—

“Chu Li, let’s have a child soon…”

After these words, Mu Yunjin felt as if something had exploded in her head. Was she actively requesting that from Chu Li?

Immediately, her cheeks flushed crimson again as she buried her entire being into Chu Li’s chest.

Chu Li’s eyes reddened instantly, but he still restrained himself with great effort, gritting his teeth to ask, “Are you sure? Have you thought it through?”

Mu Yunjin nodded very obediently.

Chu Li kissed her earlobe, and in an instant, reached out to remove the last covering on Mu Yunjin’s body…

“Yunjin, this prince will never let you down in this lifetime.”

Inside the room, the two had shed all their clothes, which lay scattered on the floor.

In the cold, whistling winter day, only within the lotus-warm curtains of the Liquan Pavilion was there an atmosphere filled with bright, bashful spring warmth.

For a day and night, Chu Li’s door remained unopened.

Outside, Huang Yan and others sat in the gazebo of the prince’s garden, watching the Liquan Pavilion diagonally across from them, which still showed no movement. They exchanged glances for a long time.

“It’s just drawing eyebrows, right? Surely it shouldn’t take this long?” Huang Yan stroked his chin, looking toward Ding Xian and Song Chun beside him.

The two simultaneously shrugged, indicating they didn’t understand either.

“Hey, which one of you will go knock on the door? What if something has happened?” Huang Yan nodded his chin toward the two people opposite him.

“Why don’t you go yourself?” Ding Xian retorted.

Huang Yan sighed, lazily resting one leg on the railing of the gazebo. “I just returned from North Ming country, going through life and death with the Princess. I haven’t even recovered yet!”

“One of you should go check. What if they’ve been captured by the Qin family or that old thief Qiuye?” Huang Yan added.

At Huang Yan’s words, Ding Xian and Song Chun became a bit anxious.

So, Ding Xian and Song Chun looked at each other, and it was Ding Xian who spoke first, “You go take a look. Your lightness skill is better; you won’t be easily discovered…”

Song Chun was speechless.

“Go quickly!” Ding Xian urged Song Chun again. Deep down, he was afraid to go.

Both His Highness and the Princess were not easy to deal with. Who could kidnap them both without a sound…?

Finally, Song Chun, devoted to protecting his master, stood up and walked toward Liquan Pavilion.

Inside the room.

Exhausted Mu Yunjin was nestled in Chu Li’s arms, sleeping sweetly. Chu Li held her, gently patting her back, one stroke at a time, coaxing her to sleep.

A sudden knock at the door broke the tranquility of the room.

Chu Li frowned and looked toward the door. The knocking continued. After glancing down at the sleeping Mu Yunjin, he waved his hand, sending a wave of true energy toward the door.

The knocking stopped.

It wasn’t until noon that Mu Yunjin finally woke up slowly. As she moved her body slightly, a sensation of soreness made her involuntarily let out a few soft cries.

When she opened her eyes, an intense gaze was fixed on her.

The moment she met that gaze, Mu Yunjin cowered into the blanket, covering her face.

“Feeling shy?” Chu Li’s delighted voice sounded.

Mu Yunjin, huddled in the blanket, shook her head.

“Then are you still not fully awake?” Chu Li asked with extreme patience, his eyes filled with amusement as he reached out to stroke her exposed hair.

“I’m not sleeping anymore. I want to get up now,” Mu Yunjin said in a muffled voice. If she didn’t leave this room soon, she’d probably be laughed to death by others in the mansion.

“Alright.” Chu Li got up first to dress. After he was fully dressed, he picked out a cotton robe and a breast cloth for Mu Yunjin.

Walking to the edge of the couch, Chu Li bent down and stroked her head. “Get up and get dressed.”

“Mmm.” Mu Yunjin peeked out her head, glimpsing the water-blue embroidered breast cloth in Chu Li’s hand, and suddenly blushed again.

After dawdling for a while, she finally sat up. Just as she was about to reach for the clothes in Chu Li’s hand, he had already stepped forward to help her put them on, his expression serious as he helped her tie the straps.

Mu Yunjin silently curved her lips, hiding amusement in her eyes.

When the two walked out of the door, the light outside was piercingly bright.

After pausing for a moment, they walked out of Liquan Pavilion, the two figures leaning close together in indescribable harmony.

After Song Chun returned, rebuffed, Huang Yan and the others stopped focusing their attention on the room in Liquan Pavilion. Those with a bit of sense could guess what had happened in the room.

They just hadn’t expected their lord to be so formidable in certain aspects.

They wondered if the Princess was still well…

Just as they were thinking, two figures dressed in purple emerged from the courtyard of Liquan Pavilion, fingers tightly intertwined, steps leisurely. One had a face beaming with spring-like satisfaction; the other had rosy cheeks, looking like a little wife who had been wronged.

Huang Yan raised his eyebrows at Ding Xian—it seemed their lord had eaten quite well!

With that thought, Huang Yan stood up and approached them. “Oh my, the Princess’s eyebrows are drawn so beautifully. As expected from His Highness putting his heart into it. Why is there also rouge on her cheeks?”

Mu Yunjin froze.

“Get lost!” Chu Li’s warning voice had already sounded, his sharp gaze sweeping toward Huang Yan.

Huang Yan immediately darted ten meters away.

Mu Yunjin pressed her lips together, swaying Chu Li’s arm. “Let’s go, I’m hungry.”

“Mmm.” Chu Li held her hand as they walked toward the dining hall.

In the dining hall, Mu Yunjin had a good appetite. After eating two bowls of red bean porridge, she took a sweet pastry to eat. However, she occasionally moved her neck, and each movement brought some soreness.

“Princess, I haven’t seen you for so long. This servant has missed you terribly,” Mamma Shen stood nearby. Calculating the days, she felt she hadn’t seen Mu Yunjin for almost a month.

Now seeing her, she very much wanted to chat with her more, but today the Prince and Princess seemed exceptionally inseparable. She waited until the two had almost finished eating before daring to speak to Mu Yunjin.

Mu Yunjin smiled. “So how did Mamma miss me?”

“You asked just the right question!” Mamma Shen produced two red items from behind her back as if by magic. Then, disregarding Chu Li’s presence, she unfolded what was in her hands.

“Look, these are new dudous (undergarments) this servant made for you. In a little over a month, it will be the New Year. Bright red is auspicious. See, this servant specially embroidered a pair of mandarin ducks on it for you…” Mamma Shen excitedly told Mu Yunjin.

Finally, she bent down and whispered in Mu Yunjin’s ear, “Bright red will surely keep you and His Highness sweet and loving. Try to have a chubby baby boy by next year…”
