Yun Lianqing…
How could it be him?
How could the Crown Prince of the Nanting Kingdom suddenly appear in Zhangzhou City for no reason?
Mu Yunjin pursed her lips and glanced at Huang Yan again. The last time at Prince Ning’s Mansion, Yun Lianqing had never met Huang Yan, but now, appearing unexpectedly in the black market, he must have noticed something suspicious.
Especially now that Chu Li had gone to the Nanting Kingdom, while the Crown Prince of Nanting was here.
Mu Yunjin had an ominous premonition.
Just as she was thinking, at the gambling table across from her, a round had ended, and the spectators around all cheered.
Mu Yunjin looked over and saw that Huang Yan was the winner.
At this moment, after they finished one round, they stopped and didn’t proceed to the next. Seeing that they had stopped, the spectators all gradually dispersed.
…
…
Yun Lianqing narrowed his phoenix eyes, looked around, and upon spotting Mu Yunjin, raised an eyebrow, “Well, what a rare sight. Isn’t this the Princess of Ning? Have you come to gamble too?”
Mu Yunjin was startled, touching her face. She was wearing a veil, yet he could recognize her immediately.
“What are you doing here?” Mu Yunjin walked over and sat down in a chair nearby.
Hearing this, Yun Lianqing curled his lips into a smile, “I was passing through Zhangzhou City and stumbled upon this place. Feeling the urge to gamble, I played a few rounds. But meeting the Princess of Ning here is quite unexpected.”
“What a coincidence, I also stumbled upon this place by accident,” Mu Yunjin said sarcastically.
Beside her, Huang Yan glanced at Mu Yunjin, looking hesitant, and signaled with his eyes toward Huaying.
Huaying was startled, immediately understanding, “Princess, it’s stuffy here. Let’s leave.”
“Mm.” Mu Yunjin nodded, also secretly thinking they shouldn’t get too close to Yun Lianqing, so she stood up and prepared to leave with Qiqi and Huaying.
After just a few steps, Yun Lianqing’s voice sounded from behind, “Leaving so soon? This Crown Prince wanted to share some information about Prince Ning with you.”
“What could you possibly share with me?” Mu Yunjin turned back, unimpressed.
Yun Lianqing stood up and walked toward Mu Yunjin. Before he could get close, the vigilant Qiqi and Huaying had already positioned themselves in front of Mu Yunjin, blocking Yun Lianqing with their hands.
Yun Lianqing shrugged and looked at Mu Yunjin, “Are you sure you don’t want to talk with this Crown Prince privately?”
Mu Yunjin looked at Yun Lianqing’s ambiguous expression, feeling a sense of conspiracy slowly approaching. But despite this, she had to admit, Yun Lianqing had piqued her curiosity.
Especially regarding Chu Li.
“Qiqi, Huaying, step aside. I’ll talk with him,” Mu Yunjin said calmly.
Qiqi and Huaying were a bit startled, showing hesitation.
“Don’t worry, this Crown Prince won’t eat her. I just want to chat,” Yun Lianqing said, already stepping out of the gambling house and walking toward the teahouse across the street.
Huang Yan, who had been silent, walked up to Mu Yunjin and lowered his voice, “This morning, the secret guards brought news that Yun Lianqing had appeared in the black market, which is why I rushed here. This person’s intentions are probably not simple.”
“It’s alright, I’ll go see,” Mu Yunjin also left the gambling house and entered the teahouse.
…
Second-floor private room.
“Yun Lianqing, what do you want to say?” Mu Yunjin got straight to the point as soon as she entered.
Yun Lianqing poured two cups of tea, offering one to Mu Yunjin, “The weather is cold. Have some hot tea to warm up.”
Mu Yunjin didn’t take the tea.
“You’re stubborn to death. This Crown Prince won’t eat you,” Yun Lianqing placed the teacup on the table and drank by himself.
Mu Yunjin pursed her lips, remaining silent, examining Yun Lianqing’s attire today—a dark red brocade robe, with an extremely bewitching face that exuded an air of mischief no matter how you looked at him.
It was hard to imagine that the future ruler of the Nanting Kingdom would be such a character.
After Yun Lianqing leisurely finished a cup of tea and ate some snacks, he finally looked up at Mu Yunjin and spoke slowly, “I heard that Prince Ning has gone to the Nanting Kingdom?”
“Mm.” Mu Yunjin nodded lightly.
“Then do you know who made Emperor Ximing do this?” Yun Lianqing raised an eyebrow and smiled lightly.
Mu Yunjin maintained a calm expression, looking sideways at Yun Lianqing, “Was it you?”
“Oh my, you’re quite smart, guessing it right away,” Yun Lianqing’s eyes contained a smile, though without any warmth.
Mu Yunjin snorted coldly, leaning back in her chair, her hand under the table gently stroking the Phoenix Tail Whip on her wrist, “Your purpose.”
“Hmph, do you remember the last time this Crown Prince visited your Prince Ning’s Mansion?” Yun Lianqing raised an eyebrow, smiling at Mu Yunjin.
“What about it?” Mu Yunjin’s heart sank.
Yun Lianqing smiled lightly, “Thanks to you, before this Crown Prince left that day, I discovered a shocking secret about Prince Ning.”
Mu Yunjin suddenly narrowed her eyes, her expression becoming serious, “Secret?”
“What kind of expression is that? Don’t tell this Crown Prince that even you don’t know?” Yun Lianqing raised his eyebrows, speaking with mockery.
“Stop being so mysterious. Just say what you want to say, and get it over with!” Mu Yunjin’s anticipation had risen high, yet she couldn’t ask directly, making her increasingly frustrated.
Yun Lianqing leaned closer to Mu Yunjin, resting his chin on his hand, blinking, “You don’t know?”
“Bang—” Mu Yunjin suddenly slammed the table, glaring at Yun Lianqing, “If you won’t say it, I’m leaving!”
Yun Lianqing pretended to be startled by her, then composed himself, “Shrew!”
Being called a shrew twice by Yun Lianqing, Mu Yunjin laughed coldly, “Say it again, and I’ll show you what a shrew is like.”
“Sigh, actually, what this Crown Prince wants to tell you isn’t anything major,” Yun Lianqing abruptly changed his tone.
Then, the corner of his lips curled into a deeply meaningful smile, “Your Chu Li, does he suffer from night blindness?”
Mu Yunjin’s pupils contracted, and she tightened her sleeves, but then revealed a nonchalant smile, “What do you mean by that?”
“Exactly what I said,” Yun Lianqing had already captured Mu Yunjin’s momentary distraction, becoming more certain of his suspicion.
Mu Yunjin pursed her lips, lowering her eyelids, “Your intelligence is wrong.”
“Is that so? Then why, on that day when Prince Ning’s Mansion was brightly lit, did a guard have to hand a large lantern to Prince Ning when he left? To my knowledge, unless one suffers from night blindness, with poor night vision, there’s no need for that, right?”
Mu Yunjin clenched her fist tighter. Night blindness had always been Chu Li’s most closely guarded secret. Unexpectedly, on that day, they had been careless, and Yun Lianqing had noticed.
Damn it…
Yun Lianqing cannot be allowed to live.
With this thought, when Mu Yunjin looked up at Yun Lianqing again, her eyes flashed with a bloodthirsty killing intent.
“No, no, no…” Sensing this killing intent, Yun Lianqing immediately waved his hands in dismissal. It was well known to him how formidable Mu Yunjin was.
In a fight, he might not be her match.
“This Crown Prince wants to say, if your Prince Ning’s Mansion can offer something better, this Crown Prince will naturally keep this matter secret. After all, you can’t be sure whether or not this Crown Prince has already informed others about the night blindness, can you?”
“Aren’t you afraid that if this Crown Prince dies, the very next day, everyone on the Canghua Continent will know about the night blindness? You know, night blindness is a major weakness. If certain ambitious people find out, dealing with Prince Ning in the future would be quite simple, wouldn’t it?”
“Have you thought it through, Princess Ning…?”
Mu Yunjin’s brow furrowed slightly. Was she being threatened?
“Don’t you get enough benefits from Chu Qing?” Mu Yunjin stabilized her emotions and spoke calmly.
“If there’s something better, wouldn’t that be even better?” Yun Lianqing smiled.
Mu Yunjin remained silent, not answering.
Yun Lianqing looked at her, his eyes moving, discovering that this shrew was quite beautiful, perhaps even more beautiful than his sister Shuangleng.
“Well, as a gesture of this Crown Prince’s sincerity, let me first offer you a piece of intelligence,” Yun Lianqing suddenly spoke.
Mu Yunjin looked at him.
“It’s said that my Imperial Father intends to betroth the Tenth Princess Jialan to Prince Ning. A marriage alliance to ease relations between our countries. The reason is that my Imperial Father heard you and Rong Jiu have some private connections, and he fears that after Rong Jiu ascends to the throne next month, he might turn his back on our Nanting Kingdom,” Yun Lianqing said.
Hearing this, Mu Yunjin’s eyelids twitched. The thing she most dreaded and worried about had finally happened.
However, Chu Li was not someone who would accept such manipulation.
But now he had lost his memory, and his feelings for her were uncertain. What if he took a liking to that Tenth Princess?
Thinking about it, Mu Yunjin felt it was truly maddening.
“Are you satisfied with this intelligence?” Yun Lianqing raised an eyebrow.
Mu Yunjin could no longer sit still. She stood up, looking down at Yun Lianqing, “Wait for my news.”
Then, as she was about to open the door, she turned back to look at Yun Lianqing, “You’d better not lie to me, and you’d better not play any tricks! Otherwise, beware that I might destroy your Nanting Kingdom. The Divine Decree is in my hands now, and I can summon undead soldiers at any time!”
With those words, Mu Yunjin walked out the door.
Yun Lianqing sat in his original position, his eyes narrowing slightly. How interesting.
…
“I want to go to the Nanting Kingdom! Now! Immediately! Right away!”
In the gambling house, Mu Yunjin crossed her arms, looking at the three people staring at her.
“Mistress, what did that bewitching man say to you? You mustn’t fall for his tricks. He’s not a good person,” Qiqi frowned.
Huaying nodded in agreement.
“He said the ruler of the Nanting Kingdom plans to betroth the Tenth Princess, Yun Jialan, to Chu Li to ease relations between the two countries! Right now, Chu Li has lost his memory. What if he gets carried away and accepts this princess?” Mu Yunjin grew increasingly anxious as she thought about it.
Moreover, if he brought this princess back, the princess probably wouldn’t be content being a concubine.
Most importantly, she couldn’t accept it!
“Princess, His Highness is not that kind of person. Be careful and don’t easily believe Yun Lianqing’s nonsense,” Huang Yan also tried to dissuade her.
Mu Yunjin pursed her lips, looking pitifully at Qiqi and Huaying, “Take me there with the Formless Space. I just want to take a look, to see the situation. If what Yun Lianqing said is false, I’ll come back immediately without disturbing Chu Li.”
“Mistress…” Qiqi hesitated, looking toward Huang Yan.
At this moment, they needed to let Huang Yan make the decision.
Huang Yan also roughly knew Mu Yunjin’s temperament—she wouldn’t give up until she reached her goal. Thinking that Imperial Mentor An had also returned to the Nanting Kingdom, he reluctantly nodded slightly.
“We’ll go to the Imperial Mentor’s Mansion first,” Huang Yan said.
Mu Yunjin lightly curled her lips, nodding, her mouth containing a smile, while her heart at this moment was extremely complex and tangled…

What stupid female lead character is this? Her pregnancy isn’t stable but she goes around here and there without remembering she nearly had a miscarriage and nearly lost her life at the ice cave because she heard they caught Chu Li. Makes a reader want to smack her at the back of her head!
Her character development seems to go downhill the more the novel progresses.. Well hehe I thought I’m the only want who wants to smack her..
I love reading novels where female characters are strong and smart but why the hell when they fall in love they become increasingly stupid gosh im hating it
