Chapter 474: Only the Divine Token

Inside the wooden cabin.

Lengyuan was sitting in a dark chamber healing her wounds when she suddenly heard a disturbance outside in the cabin. She abruptly opened her eyes, inwardly exclaiming that something was wrong.

Sensing the approaching aura outside, Lengyuan hurriedly stood up, dragging her still severely injured body, and activated a mechanism in the dark chamber. She crawled into a secret passage and fled.

When the Ink Qilin and Chu Li arrived at the dark chamber, there was nothing but lingering traces of blood. Lengyuan had vanished.

On the snow mountain, Jiang Qingxue and Yun Shuangleng, seeing Yun Lianqing running away alone, hurriedly descended to assist him.

As they ran down the mountain, Chu Qing and his group of black-clad men were pursuing Yun Lianqing from behind.

Yun Lianqing caught sight of Jiang Qingxue and Yun Shuangleng coming down the mountain and suddenly remembered that those people couldn’t see the snow mountain. His eyes immediately brightened. Just as he was about to run toward the snow mountain, the black-clad men caught up with him, and Chu Qing had already leaped in front of him.

“Yun Lianqing, isn’t it good enough to live peacefully outside? Why must you run in here to die!” Chu Qing gritted his teeth. The closer it got to daybreak, the more he feared someone would interfere and ruin his grand plan.

Yun Lianqing gave a slight smile, silently counting the number of black-clad men, then glanced at Yun Shuangleng and Jiang Qingxue nearby.

After smiling, Yun Lianqing opened his mouth slightly, “Chu Qing, are you so determined to kill me because you’re afraid that this prince will reveal the method to activate the Divine Token?”

Chu Qing narrowed his eyes but remained silent.

Nearby, Jiang Qingxue and Yun Shuangleng were both surprised, not expecting that Yun Lianqing would know how to activate the Divine Token.

“Morning light breaks, Divine Token emerges, blood of the Divine Phoenix, summons the dead spirits.” Yun Lianqing smiled as he looked at Chu Qing, loudly announcing the activation method for the Divine Token that he had heard in Fengyue Cliff.

After speaking, he glanced toward the snow mountain, ensuring that Jiang Qingxue and Yun Shuangleng had heard these sixteen characters.

Upon hearing these sixteen characters, Chu Qing clenched his fists tightly, killing intent surging in his eyes. He pulled out his folding fan, transformed it into an emei piercer, and without another word, struck at Yun Lianqing.

All the black-clad men also rushed forward.

Feng Cang had been following Chu Qing. When he saw Chu Qing surround Yun Lianqing, he stopped and observed from the shadows for a while, just in time to hear those sixteen characters.

Morning light breaks…

No wonder Chu Qing and Rong Min were sitting quietly at the entrance of Fengyue Cliff—they were waiting for daybreak.

He had also heard the legends about the Divine Token. If it were truly as legendary, this thing could summon dead spirits and soldiers, which would be a major problem!

Just as Feng Cang was hesitating, he suddenly sensed a strange presence nearby.

Looking toward the strange area, Feng Cang’s peripheral vision caught a figure emerging from underground, quickly running toward a corner.

Seeing that figure, Feng Cang’s brow furrowed as he thought, “This is bad!”

It was that purple-robed woman!

Who knew how long she had been hiding there, and whether she had also heard the method to activate the Divine Token.

Feng Cang was suddenly alarmed and pursued in the direction where Lengyuan had disappeared.

Lengyuan sensed that she was being followed again, feeling both angry and annoyed. But then she thought of the activation method for the Divine Token that she had just heard, and waves of excitement surged in her heart.

If she could use those dead spirits and soldiers, she could make a comeback!

How could Furuan still be her match?

With these thoughts, Lengyuan noticed that her pursuer was still some distance behind her. Relying on her familiarity with the Tiansheng Continent, she quickly turned onto a small path and easily lost her pursuer in a few moves.

Feng Cang stood at a four-way intersection, suddenly losing track of Lengyuan.

Mu Yunjin and the others waited outside the wooden cabin for a long time before seeing Chu Li and the Ink Qilin emerge from the demonic barrier.

“She escaped,” Chu Li said to Mu Yunjin as soon as he came out.

Hearing this news, Mu Yunjin wasn’t surprised. She took a light breath, temporarily at a loss for what to do next.

Imperial Physician An rubbed his temples, “This is all that old man Feng Cang’s doing. Otherwise, we could have dealt with Chu Qing by now and left the Tiansheng Continent to celebrate. Why would we need to be entangled here for so long?”

“As things stand, since that witch has fled, let’s go deal with Chu Qing and Rong Min first. After all, these troublemakers all need to be eliminated, so it doesn’t matter who we eliminate first,” Hua Ying said helplessly, trying to ease the tension.

“Yes, let’s do as you say,” Huang Yan agreed with Hua Ying.

The other three had no objections either, and they all flew toward the entrance of Fengyue Cliff.

Yun Lianqing was locked in a fierce battle with Chu Qing. As the black-clad men were about to charge forward, Yun Shuangleng had already rushed out to help Yun Lianqing fend them off.

Jiang Qingxue also wanted to join, but was held back by Yun Shuangleng, who instructed her to take the opportunity to leave and deliver this message to Chu Li and Mu Yunjin before daybreak.

“Bang…”

“Bang bang…”

Chu Qing’s attacks were vicious and lethal, targeting Yun Lianqing’s vital points. Yun Lianqing was no match for Chu Qing and retreated repeatedly, being hit by several palm strikes and coughing up blood.

Yun Shuangleng, being a woman, naturally couldn’t withstand so many black-clad men. In just a few moves, her dress was cut in several places.

Seeing that Yun Lianqing was already severely injured, Chu Qing curled his lips into a smile, “Yun Lianqing, rest assured, after your death, I will take over the kingdom of South Court!”

“Oh, no, the entire Canghua Continent will be mine!”

After speaking, Chu Qing narrowed his eyes and swiftly flung his emei piercer, stabbing it into Yun Lianqing’s chest…

“Splurt…” Just before the emei piercer struck, Yun Lianqing quickly twisted his body. The emei piercer now fiercely pierced his waist, causing his entire body to tremble with pain.

“Royal Brother!” Yun Shuangleng opened her eyes wide, her cry mournful.

Hearing Yun Shuangleng’s voice, Yun Lianqing opened his mouth, “Go, quickly…”

“No, I won’t go, I won’t go!” Yun Shuangleng cried out. At this moment, Feng Che and Qieqie were nowhere to be found, leaving her without anyone to help.

Her royal brother was the future hope of the South Court Kingdom; he could not die, absolutely could not die!

Jiang Qingxue, seeing this scene, felt her heart wrench. Her mind couldn’t help but recall the image of Daoist Feng Xuan before his death. Her eyes reddened, and disregarding the sixteen-character method to activate the Divine Token, she rushed out to join the chaotic battle.

In this world, what could be more painful than the separation of life and death?

Mu Yunjin’s group hadn’t walked far when they heard the sounds of fighting in the distance. They paused and looked toward the source of the commotion.

“It’s coming from the direction of the snow mountain…” Mu Yunjin frowned, thinking to herself that this wasn’t good.

Chu Li and the others beside her also tensed their eyes and quickly headed toward the snow mountain.

As they passed through a mountain crevice, they happened to meet Feng Cang coming out from inside. Feng Cang also showed surprise upon seeing Mu Yunjin.

“Grandfather,” Mu Yunjin called out.

“You’ve come at the right time. Something has happened!” Feng Cang stepped forward, his face showing severity.

After hearing Feng Cang’s words, Mu Yunjin’s group of five split into two teams again. One team went to track down Lengyuan’s whereabouts, while the other went to the snow mountain to find Chu Qing and retrieve the Divine Token.

Mu Yunjin, being the owner of the Divine Token, went to the snow mountain.

Along the way, Mu Yunjin gradually realized with shock why Chu Qing had previously focused all his attention on the Divine Phoenix.

It was to collect the Divine Phoenix’s blood to activate the Divine Token.

Now there was less than an hour left until daybreak…

When Mu Yunjin arrived at the snow mountain, Yun Lianqing, Jiang Qingxue, and Yun Shuangleng were all severely injured. The guards Chu Qing had brought this time were all experts, and there were many of them, making them difficult to deal with.

“All of you, die for this prince!” Chu Qing picked up a sword from the ground and thrust it toward the dying Yun Lianqing…

“Crack…”

Mu Yunjin lashed out with her whip, striking Chu Qing’s hand fiercely.

The sudden pain from behind made Chu Qing’s body tremble. When he turned around, he saw Mu Yunjin holding the phoenix-tail whip, her eyes dark as she stared at him.

Chu Qing’s heart sank further, and he became increasingly agitated.

Why, when he was just about to succeed, did all these people suddenly appear? Damn it, truly damn it!

“Divine Token, return!” Mu Yunjin gathered true energy in her palm and beckoned toward Chu Qing.

With a “swoosh,” a golden token flew out from Chu Qing’s sleeve and landed firmly in Mu Yunjin’s palm.

Mu Yunjin gripped the Divine Token tightly in her hand.

Chu Qing’s eyes widened in disbelief as he felt his sleeve, finding the Divine Token gone. His eyes turned blood-red, “Mu Yunjin, you bitch, it’s you again!”

“I should have known you would ruin my plans. When you were poisoned earlier, I should have let my guards torture you thoroughly!”

Hearing these shameless words, Mu Yunjin’s body tensed, flames of anger erupting from her eyes, “Very well, since Prince Chen is so considerate of me, I shall certainly repay you in kind!”

With that, Mu Yunjin swiftly wielded her phoenix-tail whip, striking heavily at Chu Qing again and again.

Chu Qing was forced to retreat repeatedly by the phantom of the phoenix-tail whip before him. Just then, a secret voice sounded in his ear, “Take her mother hostage, and make Furuan give up the Divine Token.”

Hearing this female voice, Chu Qing didn’t hesitate. As he approached Jiang Qingxue, he pulled her up from the ground and gripped her neck.

“Mu Yunjin, if you come one step closer, I’ll break your mother’s neck!” Chu Qing, clutching Jiang Qingxue’s neck, seemed to have found a lifeline.

Mu Yunjin quickly retracted her whip, her eyes filled with gloom.

“Yunjin, don’t worry about me. Don’t let this villain manipulate you!” Jiang Qingxue spoke, clutching at Chu Qing’s hand, but it didn’t budge.

How could Mu Yunjin truly disregard Jiang Qingxue? She had already lost her master; how could she lose a mother as well?

“What do you want?” Mu Yunjin stared at Chu Qing.

Chu Qing gave a cold laugh, “The Divine Token. This prince wants the Divine Token.”

  1. At this point I fully believe the author themself was forced at gunpoint to write this novel, given a specific word count requirement, dragging the crap out of the story oh and absolutely forgetting what it is that they’ve already wrote.
