Chapter 476: The Breaking Dawn

Cold Crane folded her arms, appearing completely unmoved by Mu Yunjin’s provocation. “Fu Huan, do you think that I haven’t obtained the Divine Phoenix Blood yet, while you now have victory within your grasp?”

Hearing this, Mu Yunjin narrowed her eyes, catching a hint of information from Cold Crane’s words.

Was she suggesting that she had obtained the Divine Phoenix Blood?

“What’s with that expression?” Cold Crane tried to delay as much as possible. Engaging in a fierce battle with Mu Yunjin now would do her no good. She just needed to wait until daybreak, and she would win.

Mu Yunjin noticed the cold gleam in Cold Crane’s eyes along with a hint of craftiness, which further confirmed her suspicions. Without another word, she drew her Phoenix Tail Whip and lashed out at Cold Crane.

While wielding her whip, Mu Yunjin could feel the wounds inflicted earlier by the demonic miasma beginning to ache.

That demonic miasma had been extremely powerful, making her feel a chilling pain seeping through the gaps between her bones whenever she moved her body.

Cold Crane drew her flexible sword and directly confronted Mu Yunjin’s Phoenix Tail Whip.

The two equally matched women gave no quarter to each other in this moment.

Meanwhile, everyone else had gathered at the foot of the snowy mountain.

“Rong Min is here. How should we deal with him?” Song Chun had brought Rong Min along after much deliberation.

On Feng Cang’s side, Chu Qing had also been captured and was now tied up and thrown on the ground, unable to move.

Chu Li and Master An had searched for Cold Crane without finding any trace, so they came to the snowy mountain to regroup with everyone.

At this moment, the most desperate ones were probably Chu Qing and Rong Min.

They had thought everything was predetermined, and no one would interfere with their plans. But they hadn’t expected that man’s plans are no match for heaven’s will—Feng Cang, whom they had gone to great lengths to find, turned out to be Jiang Qingxue’s father and Mu Yunjin’s maternal grandfather.

Now, not only had they failed to kill Mu Yunjin and the others, but they were the ones being dealt with instead. This was truly a case of lifting a rock only to drop it on one’s own feet.

At this point, Chu Qing could only respond with a bitter smile…

Having reached this fate, he accepted it.

“Where is Yunjin?” Chu Li noticed everyone was present except Mu Yunjin.

Hearing this, Jiang Qingxue frowned and spoke, “She ran off in that direction alone, without leaving a word.”

The direction Jiang Qingxue pointed to was the west.

Chu Li flew off in that direction.

Master An quickly followed, with Huang Yan, Hua Ying, Qiqi, Lei Yan, Song Chun, and Ding Xian all following behind.

Remaining at the site were Feng Cang, Jiang Qingxue, Yun Shuangleng, and Yun Lianqing.

“Elder, quickly kill these two troublemakers!” Yun Lianqing looked at Chu Qing and felt pain throughout his body, unable to swallow this bitter pill.

“Be patient. After they resolve the matter, there will still be time to kill them,” Feng Cang sat down nearby, keeping watch over the area.

Yun Lianqing pouted, “Fine, a gentleman’s revenge can wait ten years.”

“Not bad. With such understanding, you’re doing well as a crown prince,” Feng Cang teased Yun Lianqing. “Being flexible and adaptable, you might become a good ruler in the future.”

“Turtles are the ones that are flexible and adaptable! If I hadn’t been seriously injured, I would have cut them down with a sword long ago. How could I have waited until now?” Yun Lianqing was furious, but the pain in his waist forced him to lie on the ground, unable to move, which made him even more vexed.

Feng Cang smiled without saying more.

“Puff…”

Cold Crane was kicked in the abdomen by Mu Yunjin. Unable to maintain her balance, she fell backward and landed on the ground.

If she remembered correctly, this was the second time today Mu Yunjin had kicked her in the abdomen.

The first time was when the Seven Red Stars appeared. That kick had been powerful, and now another kick landed in the same spot. Cold Crane felt as if her lower abdomen was about to burst.

“Hiss…” She tried to struggle up from the ground but was in too much pain to move.

“You’re truly vicious, knowing exactly where to stab to cause the most pain,” Cold Crane shifted slightly, leaning against the wall, trying to make herself more comfortable.

Mu Yunjin wasn’t faring much better.

During the fight, the places where she had been injured by the demonic miasma were now seeping with blood drop by drop. Several parts of her body were burning with pain.

Now, with Cold Crane leaning against the wall and Mu Yunjin leaning against a nearby pillar, neither made any further move.

In this moment of stillness, neither woman was idle.

As Mu Yunjin leaned against the pillar, she repeatedly used her mind to summon the Divine Decree, trying to make it return to her side. But no matter how she called, the Divine Decree remained unresponsive.

What was going on?

Cold Crane’s hand covered her lower abdomen, seemingly in pain, but in reality, she was constantly observing the movements of the Divine Decree.

For some reason, the Divine Decree kept trembling, but beyond that, there was no further reaction.

Could it be because of the Divine Phoenix Blood that had been dripped onto it, causing this anomaly?

Just as Cold Crane was pondering this, countless footsteps sounded outside the wooden cabin, accompanied by the roar of a qilin.

Suddenly, Cold Crane’s figure swiftly rose from the ground and ran toward the inner part of the wooden cabin, moving so quickly that Mu Yunjin was left dumbfounded. Did she look like someone who was injured?

Mu Yunjin wasted no time and gave chase.

Upon entering Cold Crane’s wooden cabin, Mu Yunjin immediately smelled a strange odor, mostly from various evil and demonic objects.

Come to think of it, a thousand years ago, Cold Crane had been a high deity. How had she fallen to such a state now? It was truly pitiful.

Cold Crane’s wooden cabin appeared tiny from the outside, but once Mu Yunjin entered, she discovered it was much more spacious inside. Fortunately, Cold Crane was injured and couldn’t run fast, otherwise Mu Yunjin might have lost her while giving chase.

The time until daybreak was drawing ever closer.

Cold Crane ran for a while before realizing that Mu Yunjin was still pursuing her.

Fu Huan, you truly deserve to die!

Cold Crane’s expression gradually darkened. She waved her hand at a room in front of her, and the door quickly opened. Cold Crane turned and ran inside.

Mu Yunjin saw her enter the room and followed, but just as she was about to step through the doorway, she halted her steps.

This room was a forest…

It was unclear whether this forest was a real scene or an illusion created by Cold Crane. The trees were dense, and with the darkness, rushing in recklessly would likely result in getting lost.

Time was pressing, and if she got lost here, wouldn’t she be falling into Cold Crane’s trap?

Inside the room, Cold Crane hid in a dark corner. Seeing that Mu Yunjin stood at the entrance without moving or showing any intention of coming in, she clenched her fingers in frustration.

Damn it, she didn’t take the bait!

Just as Cold Crane was looking for another way to escape, she saw two torches being thrown in from outside. The torches fell into the forest thicket and instantly ignited a raging fire.

Cold Crane immediately began coughing from the smoke, frowning as she recalled the time when she had pretended to be sisters with Fu Huan. Even back then, Fu Huan had always been full of tricks…

To think that she was still the same now.

Since this forest was an illusion she had created, if she wanted to escape, she could only go through the main entrance. But now Mu Yunjin was blocking the entrance, and the inside was on fire…

Cold Crane felt defeated once again.

At the doorway, Mu Yunjin observed the burning flames and confirmed that the forest was indeed an illusion created by Cold Crane.

She leaned against the doorway with folded arms, waiting for Cold Crane to flee from the unbearable conditions.

“Ah…!”

After quite some time, a scream was heard.

Then came the sound of roof tiles breaking. Mu Yunjin looked up to see Cold Crane breaking through the roof and flying away.

Mu Yunjin quickly took off in pursuit.

At this time, Chu Li and his group had already spotted the two figures in the sky above the roof from afar.

“Master is chasing Cold Crane!” Qiqi exclaimed excitedly.

Seeing that Mu Yunjin was safe and sound, Chu Li took a slight breath, his tense heart finally relaxing a bit. As long as she was safe, that was what mattered.

“Why are they chasing each other like this? What’s going on?” Master An couldn’t understand what was happening between these two women.

Looking more closely, he noticed that Mu Yunjin’s clothes were stained with blood, and Cold Crane was instinctively covering her abdomen as she ran.

It seemed both of them were injured.

“Look, daybreak is approaching…”

At this moment, someone uttered these words.

Above the roof, Cold Crane noticed the sky gradually changing color and suddenly burst into maniacal laughter.

Daybreak had come!

Nothing would stand in her way now!

She was going to succeed, she was going to succeed!

Mu Yunjin also noticed the changing sky, and her eyes darkened as she observed Cold Crane’s hand moving toward her waist.

At that moment, the first ray of sunlight at dawn refracted from the horizon…

Seeing that daybreak had arrived, Cold Crane excitedly took out the Divine Decree. Before she could open it in her palm, Mu Yunjin had already desperately lunged at Cold Crane from behind.

Neither woman maintained their balance, and they fell entangled from the roof to the ground below.

“Bang…”

A heavy sound rang out, stirring up dust around them.

Mu Yunjin landed on her back, acting as a human cushion for Cold Crane.

Falling straight from the roof with such a person pressing on top of her, Mu Yunjin felt as if her internal organs were shattering.

Blood continuously flowed from the corner of her mouth, while her vision darkened and she felt dizzy.

Cold Crane was in much better condition than Mu Yunjin. After regaining her senses, she prepared to open the Divine Decree in her hand to summon the undead soldiers at dawn.

Mu Yunjin quickly grabbed Cold Crane, and with a sudden surge of strength from somewhere, she firmly held Cold Crane’s hand, preventing her from revealing the Divine Decree.

“Fu Huan, you’re seeking death!” Cold Crane’s eyes widened, her gaze growing increasingly vicious. At this critical moment, whoever blocked her path was seeking death!

Cold Crane felt a dagger in Mu Yunjin’s sleeve, swiftly pulled it out, and aimed it at Mu Yunjin’s body, stabbing it in fiercely…

Mu Yunjin furrowed her brows. By now, she was numb with pain, knowing only that she couldn’t let Cold Crane succeed.

If Cold Crane activated the Divine Decree, all of them would die!

“Fu Huan, get away from me, get away! Or I’ll kill you!”

Seeing that Mu Yunjin remained unmoved, Cold Crane grew more agitated and frenzied. She swung the dagger in her hand toward Mu Yunjin’s fair cheek and slashed…

  1. Seriously yunjin should just die and this story can end. She would deserve it too. No, all of them. Because of their inability to: discern situation, prioritize, coordinate, execute. Willy nilly wishy washy characters.
This novel is still going on and on and on because the “good” guys are letting all the villains go on the premise of “let’s see first”. Gee I wonder what my enemies are up to and whether it will be bad for me and everyone else. Utterly ridiculous.
Man I wish I was someone who can drop a book after picking it up. This piece of writing is excruciatingly torturous.
