The two ancient spirit crocodiles were enormous, surrounding Siqing in the middle. From the shore, all Fuhuan could see were splashes of water caused by bursts of true energy and a series of explosive sounds. She had no idea what condition Siqing was in.
What could she do now?
These two ancient spirit crocodiles were formidable opponents. She wasn’t sure if Siqing could handle them alone.
Fuhuan sighed, realizing that at this critical moment, she couldn’t be of any help. Both she and the Five-colored Divine Phoenix belonged to the fire element. In this ice pool, their powers were severely suppressed. They would be lucky just to protect themselves, let alone help others.
“Roar roar…”
Just as Fuhuan’s heart was tightly clenched with worry, a blue radiant light flashed, and the Ink Qilin suddenly appeared above the ice pool.
Without any hesitation, the Ink Qilin launched an attack against one of the ancient spirit crocodiles.
The appearance of the Ink Qilin made Fuhuan breathe a little easier.
“Jing jing…”
…
…
The Five-colored Divine Phoenix called out after eliminating all the venomous snakes on the ground.
Fuhuan turned around to see that the snakes had been burned to nothing by the Five-colored Divine Phoenix.
“Hmm, there’s a pit here.” Fuhuan’s gaze swept across the ground, discovering a circular black hole with black mist rising from it.
Fuhuan held her breath and walked a few steps closer to look down into the black hole.
The pit was bottomless, with miasma constantly rising from it, making it dangerous to approach.
Just as she was about to step back, she suddenly heard cries for help coming from below: “Help, help…”
This voice is…
That Shaoguang?
“Who’s down there?” Fuhuan turned and called into the hole.
“It’s Sha-Shaoguang. Supreme Deity Fuhuan, please save us! The three of us accidentally fell in. Nianhua is injured and unconscious, and Liuyue’s leg is also injured. There’s so much miasma here; we fear we’ll die in this place.”
Hearing this, Fuhuan frowned and looked at the Five-colored Divine Phoenix beside her. “Luaner, wait for me here. I’ll go down to check.”
The Five-colored Divine Phoenix nodded.
The next second, Fuhuan mobilized her true energy to protect her vital channels, then leaped into the pit.
The pit wasn’t as deep as she had imagined. Soon, Fuhuan landed on the ground, but the surroundings were filled with miasma. She didn’t dare speak freely for fear of inhaling the toxic air.
“This way, we’re over here!” Shaoguang seemed to have heard Fuhuan’s movements and called out excitedly.
Fuhuan followed the voice.
The ground in the pit was uneven and winding, dark and damp. Besides the miasma, there were many cold water droplets falling. Fuhuan wiped away the droplets that hit her forehead while watching her step, silently cursing why such a hellish place existed in the Celestial Realm.
After approaching the three of them, Fuhuan first checked Nianhua’s pulse. “Not good, his pulse is weak.”
“What should we do? We were just heading forward when somehow we fell here. We’ve been here for quite a while.” Shaoguang said anxiously.
Fuhuan flicked her wrist, slowly infusing some spiritual power into Nianhua, then looked at Liuyue beside him. “How’s your leg?”
“When we fell, my knee hit the ground. I’m afraid the bone in this leg is broken.” Liuyue pointed to his right leg.
Fuhuan sighed. “You are disciples of the Qinghua Emperor after all. How could falling into a pit leave you in such a state?”
Hearing this, Shaoguang felt aggrieved. “The three of us were newly accepted by the Qinghua Emperor and haven’t learned much yet. We don’t know why the Heavenly Emperor specifically named us today…”
“Let’s leave this place first, then talk.” After speaking, Fuhuan’s fingertip produced a rope glowing with red light, which wrapped around the waists of the three men as she flew upward with them.
Carrying three grown men was strenuous for Fuhuan. Just as they reached the middle of the pit, the entire cavity suddenly began to shake violently.
“Bang bang bang…”
Numerous stones fell from above, and large rocks continuously rolled down from the surrounding rock walls.
“This is bad. Could the pit be collapsing?” Shaoguang’s forehead was hit by a small stone, causing him to speak in panic.
Fuhuan took a breath. “It’s not that the pit is collapsing. I’m afraid a ferocious beast hiding in this pit has awakened.”
She knew it—traversing the Jade Ancient Forest wouldn’t be easy. The place was full of the world’s most ferocious beasts. One wrong step would trigger a disaster.
“Wu-wa wu-wa…”
“Ah!”
On the ground of the pit, a strange beast resembling a bird appeared. It was enormous, with an antenna on its forehead covered with sharp spines.
At this moment, the beast was baring its fangs, staring at Fuhuan and the others who had fallen from mid-air, with crimson blood continuously dripping from its mouth.
“Wu-wa wu-wa…” The beast’s cry sounded again.
“What kind of monster is this? Why does its cry sound like a baby?” Shaoguang asked in confusion.
Fuhuan’s eyes darkened as she silently clenched her fist. “The ferocious Gu Condor.”
“Wh-what?? Is this the legendary man-eating Gu Condor?” Shaoguang felt he might faint from fear.
“Shaoguang, how much internal energy do you have left?” Fuhuan asked.
Shaoguang was slightly stunned, then held up three fingers. “About three-tenths.”
“Good. In a moment, I’ll use my spiritual power to assist you. Use all your remaining strength to carry Liuyue and Nianhua up. My Five-colored Divine Phoenix is outside the pit. With it there, you won’t be in danger.” Fuhuan instructed Shaoguang.
Hearing this, Shaoguang hesitated slightly. “What about you, Supreme Deity?”
“Since this Gu Condor has targeted us, we can’t escape. You three go first; don’t stay here and hold me back. I’ll handle this beast.”
After speaking, Fuhuan didn’t even look back. Spiritual power emanated from her palm as she pushed Shaoguang and the others toward the pit’s opening with force.
Mid-air, Shaoguang suddenly mobilized his true energy, using all his remaining internal power to carry Nianhua and Liuyue toward the opening with his last breath.
Seeing people leaving, the Gu Condor opened its mouth to attack, but Fuhuan had already raised her palm, striking directly at its face.
“Wu-wa wu-wa…” The Gu Condor beast howled.
Hearing these cries similar to a baby’s, Fuhuan had a headache. It felt as if she were fighting a small infant.
Perhaps due to staying in the pit too long and inhaling too much miasma, Fuhuan’s head was truly beginning to ache.
She needed to end this quickly.
Fuhuan steadied herself. The blood-red flower mark on her forehead emitted a red glow. Brilliant red light poured out from around her body, her black hair flying wildly, accentuating her devastatingly beautiful face that was both exquisite and bewitching. Her red attire burned like fire.
It had been a long time since she had used her phoenix divine power.
“Gu Condor, if you don’t fight with me now, I’ll spare your life. After all, my purpose here is just to get a red maple leaf to complete my task.” Fuhuan didn’t know if the Gu Condor could understand her words, but she had always believed in avoiding unnecessary trouble.
The Jade Ancient Forest had been sealed for years, and the Gu Condor beast staying here didn’t interfere with her business.
“Wu-wa wu-wa…” The Gu Condor seemed to be angered and lunged its enormous body at Fuhuan.
At the same time, devastatingly powerful red mystical light radiated from Fuhuan’s body. With a tremendous sound, the entire pit shook as if mountains were moving.
Protected by the red mystical light, the large falling stones couldn’t get near Fuhuan. Amidst the chaos, the Gu Condor’s cries became more miserable, one after another, resounding throughout the entire pit.
“Wu-wa wu-wa…”
With its wretched cries, the Gu Condor spewed streams of black, poisonous mist from its mouth, seemingly wanting to engulf Fuhuan.
Fuhuan narrowed her eyes, her expression exceptionally cold and severe. She slowly raised her hand, this time using her full power…
…
Outside the pit, Nianhua had awakened but was still weak, sitting on the ground silently without a word.
Liuyue had simply bandaged the wound on his leg. He and Shaoguang were now staring at the pit without blinking.
“Bang bang bang…”
Huge sounds accompanied a series of ground tremors. Shaoguang and Liuyue’s hearts were in their throats. “What should we do? How is Supreme Deity Fuhuan handling the Gu Condor?”
“I don’t know,” Liuyue said, looking at the Five-colored Divine Phoenix squatting beside the pit.
The Five-colored Divine Phoenix seemed completely unconcerned that its master was fighting a ferocious beast in the pit. It was currently lowering its head, preening its brilliant feathers with its beak.
On the other side, a purple figure stopped at the shore.
“Lord Nether God!” Shaoguang glimpsed Siqing’s figure and quickly nudged Liuyue and Nianhua, preparing to bow to Siqing.
Siqing scanned the people here, frowned with displeasure, his face dark. “Where is Fuhuan?”
“Supreme Deity, she, she’s in the pit, dealing with the ferocious Gu Condor.” Shaoguang was unsettled by Siqing’s gaze and instinctively pointed at the pit.
Instantly, Siqing’s face darkened further.
He walked forward a couple of steps, just about to enter the pit, when a red figure flew out from within. As soon as she emerged, her legs gave way, and she collapsed on the ground, clutching her chest and spitting out several mouthfuls of blood.
When dealing with the Gu Condor beast earlier, Fuhuan had used almost all her strength in her final move to end the battle quickly. Now, just out of the pit, the miasma she had inhaled earlier was showing its effects.
“Fuhuan!” Siqing rushed forward, crouched down, and supported Fuhuan, checking her pulse.
Fuhuan took a few breaths. “I’m fine. What about you? Are you injured?”
Fuhuan looked at Siqing, and turning her head, she noticed that several spots on his purple robe had darkened in color. She reached out, gently touched it, and some blood stained her fingers.
“Siqing, you’re hurt.” Fuhuan frowned, looking at the blood on her fingers.
“I’m fine. Let’s leave this place first, then talk.” Siqing helped Fuhuan stand, and seeing she was alright, he finally felt relieved.
To the side, Shaoguang and Liuyue silently exchanged glances, clearly curious about the relationship between Fuhuan and Siqing.
Earlier, Immortal Youlan had pulled Supreme Deity Lengyuan to chase after Lord Nether God, which clearly showed that Supreme Deity Lengyuan had feelings for Lord Nether God. But now, how had it become Supreme Deity Fuhuan?
“Don’t speak of this after we leave.” Fuhuan turned her head and sent a secret message to the three of them.
Shaoguang immediately replied with a secret message, “Rest assured, Supreme Deity. You’ve saved my life twice. From now on, Shaoguang will be your little follower, absolutely obedient to Supreme Deity’s commands, and won’t say a word too many.”
Fuhuan smiled faintly and walked forward with Siqing.
The three behind immediately followed their steps.
After they left, Lengyuan’s figure emerged from the bushes, tightly clenching her fists. In her palms, her fingernails had left bloody marks.
Fuhuan…
Siqing…
They were intimate enough to call each other by name.
Fuhuan, why do you have to steal my man?
