HomeLove's AfflictionChapter 54: Never Forgotten (5)

Chapter 54: Never Forgotten (5)

Marriage certificate, living together—it did seem proper and justified.

Not living together would be the strange thing now.

Shi Niannian had no more excuses. Her fingers nervously twisted together as she hesitated for a while, then finally looked up in resignation: “I’m not used to it.”

“Aren’t you a top student?” His voice dragged out, full of mischief. “Just learn to get used to it. You’ll have to get comfortable with it sooner or later anyway.”

This kind of thing can’t really be learned, Shi Niannian thought to herself.

But Jiang Wang wouldn’t listen to her. He moved over one seat to sit right next to her, and the next second, he placed his hand on her thigh. She was wearing denim shorts of normal length, but as she sat, they rode up slightly, exposing a large area of smooth skin.

Jiang Wang had been coveting this for a long time.

His movements were natural and practiced, as if he weren’t touching her cool, fair thigh but merely the armrest of a chair.

His gaze was slightly lowered, making no attempt to hide his direct and blatant interest.

Shi Niannian realized she definitely wouldn’t be allowed to leave tonight.

This area was far from public transportation, and calling a taxi would probably take a while. If Jiang Wang was determined not to take her home, she likely had no hope of getting back tonight.

Of two evils, choose the lesser.

Shi Niannian asked: “Do you have a guest room here?”

Jiang Wang: “No.”

She didn’t believe him, muttering softly: “Your house is so big, how could there not be one?”

“There really isn’t,” he leaned back, his arm encircling her. “I live in this house alone. I couldn’t be bothered to set up a guest room.”

“…”

It wasn’t that Shi Niannian was opposed to the idea, but she felt that sleeping together like this was moving too fast. Though their marriage had proceeded at an even more ridiculous speed, the thought of wearing pajamas and sleeping in the same bed, with their breaths intermingling and possibly bumping into each other when turning over, was psychologically difficult for her to accept.

Just yesterday and before, they had only been at the kissing and hand-holding stage, yet now they were suddenly expected to sleep in the same bed. It was a bit frightening.

But now she was in too deep to back out.

Jiang Wang stood up and said casually: “Let’s go.”

“Aren’t we going to clear the dishes?” She made one last attempt.

Jiang Wang said indifferently: “Someone will wash them tomorrow.”

Following him into the bedroom, she found it consistent with the rest of the decorating style—minimalist to the extreme.

Jiang Wang opened the wardrobe. When he had moved, he had only brought the suits he wore for work. He didn’t have any loose, comfortable clothes for sleeping. After searching for a while, he only found a summer short-sleeve school uniform in a drawer on the side.

Size XXL—Shi Niannian could wear it as a nightgown.

“You can wear this tonight,” he took out the shirt.

“Okay.” She accepted it. “You still have your school uniform?”

“I took it by mistake earlier.”

Jiang Wang had a habit of disposing of old clothes promptly. Most of his old clothes had already been thrown away, but he couldn’t bear to discard the high school uniform, so it had remained neatly folded in the closet of his previous apartment. Somehow, one piece had been brought over when he moved.

Shi Niannian went to shower first, while Jiang Wang still had some work to finish.

His bedroom was large, with a temporary desk in one corner for handling sudden issues.

Shi Niannian dawdled in the bathroom for a long time. Jiang Wang had only given her one piece of clothing to use as a nightgown. After her shower, she washed her underwear by hand and dried it with a hairdryer before putting it back on.

Looking at herself in the mirror, her cheeks were flushed from the bathroom steam. Her hair, not completely dry, hung softly on her shoulders, with a damp patch at her collarbone and neck hollow.

When she came out, Jiang Wang was standing by the window with his back to her, talking on the phone, his voice serious and steady: “Whatever methods necessary, we must acquire SK Company.”

Hearing movement behind him, he turned around, phone in hand.

The young woman with wet hair had cheeks that appeared even fairer, making her pupils seem even blacker. The hem of the shirt reached the middle of her knees. Her legs were thin and white, her skin as delicate as priceless white jade. The shirt had several wet patches sticking to her waist, vaguely outlining her waistline and hipbones.

Especially with that school uniform on her, it gave Jiang Wang the illusion of seeing Shi Niannian from their high school days.

He swallowed hard, his Adam’s apple moving up and down.

The voice on the phone called “Mr. Jiang” several times before he came back to his senses, gave a few more brief instructions, and hung up.

Shi Niannian awkwardly moved to the edge of the bed, then felt sitting wasn’t right, so she just stood there and asked: “You haven’t finished your work yet?”

“Almost done.”

Jiang Wang didn’t dare look at her again. His rationality was in serious danger. He grabbed his pajamas and quickly entered the bathroom.

Shi Niannian went to the living room to get the notes she had taken in class today. There were still a few points she hadn’t clarified. She sat at the corner of the bed with a pen, recording some things.

When Jiang Wang came out, she was still writing, quite focused, not even noticing he had emerged until he sat down on the side of the bed, creating an indentation. Only then did she suddenly come to her senses, her fingers gripping the pen so tightly they turned white.

He got under the covers, leaned over, blocking the light that had been falling on her notebook.

“You have homework on your first day?”

“It’s not homework,” she looked down at her notebook. “Just some notes on things I don’t fully understand yet.”

“Stop looking at it. You can look again in the morning.”

Shi Niannian put away her notebook, placing it on the bedside table.

Jiang Wang extended his hand: “Come closer, let me feel if your hair is still wet.”

Shi Niannian grabbed her own hair a couple of times: “It’s dry.” She then moved her head closer to Jiang Wang to prove it was indeed dry.

So Jiang Wang turned off the light, and the bedroom fell into darkness. Shi Niannian slowly slid under the covers, straightening the hem of her shirt, but it wasn’t a real nightgown—just a T-shirt—and it kept riding up.

Jiang Wang made no further advances. She lay at the edge of the bed and waited for two minutes, hearing steady breathing behind her. She quietly sighed in relief and slowly moved back a bit, getting more comfortable.

His pillow seemed to have been sprayed with some sleep-aiding fragrance, something like a mix of lavender and orange. Shi Niannian gently rubbed her cheek against it. Just as she was about to fall asleep, a strong arm encircled her waist.

He grabbed her waist and pulled her close. Shi Niannian almost felt as if her back had crashed into his chest.

Hot breath touched the back of her neck.

“Do you have class tomorrow morning?” he asked softly.

“The third and fourth periods, from ten to eleven-thirty,” Shi Niannian said quietly.

“I have to go on a business trip tomorrow.”

“Mm.” She responded, then realized this reaction seemed cold, so she added: “How many days will you be gone?”

“About five days. If the negotiations go quickly, I’ll be back earlier.”

Shi Niannian noticed that the hands at her waist tightened further, and at the same time, a warm sensation rubbed against the nape of her neck.

“Tomorrow I’ll have someone bring your things from your apartment. Send me your class schedule, and I’ll arrange for someone to take you to and from school. If you need anything, just tell them to buy it. There will be someone to cook at home. If you plan to eat out, just let the housekeeper know.”

The man’s voice was deep, arranging everything in perfect order.

It was actually quite exaggerated—food, clothing, shelter, and transportation all prepared. But in the dark and quiet bedroom, with the man holding her and speaking softly in her ear, it felt like whispers in a sealed small space, creating a sense of secrecy and intimacy. Shi Niannian didn’t want to refuse at all.

She responded with an “Mm”: “Okay.”

The next second, Jiang Wang opened his mouth at the nape of her neck, catching a bit of delicate flesh between his teeth and gently grinding.

It was wet, a bit numb, and slightly tingling.

Shi Niannian involuntarily shuddered: “It hurts…”

“I didn’t even use any force,” he laughed softly.

“Don’t bite me.”

“Fine, then let’s do something pleasant.”

His hand slid downward, his index finger brushing over her thigh, lifting the hem of her shirt slightly.

Shi Niannian opened her eyes wide in bewilderment in the darkness, quickly grabbing his wrist: “J-Jiang Wang, no.”

“I won’t do anything, be good.” His breathing was heavy as his other hand pulled her hands away and restrained them, continuing to lift her shirt upward. His voice hoarse as if bewitching: “Let me touch you.”

Shi Niannian was frightened and kept struggling and twisting, but her hands were tightly bound by him, making it impossible to break free. Jiang Wang’s left hand covered her chest, kneading it in an extremely sensual manner.

She was enveloped by a sense of helpless shame, whimpering, with fragmented sounds escaping her lips.

“Jiang Wang… stop it…” She was almost crying with anxiety, the hem of her shirt long since lifted above her chest.

He turned over, eagerly kissing her lips, his legs straddling her sides, his movements rough and urgent.

A hard sensation pressed against her lower abdomen. Pale moonlight streamed in. The man’s jaw tightened, sweat sliding from his temple, gathering at his chin. His eyes were dark and intensely sexy.

For the first time in front of Shi Niannian, he displayed a man’s complete offensive state.

He reached out to tuck her disheveled hair behind her ear, his thumb pressing on her moist lips before kissing her again.

After an indeterminate amount of time, Jiang Wang finally got up. Soon, the sound of water came from the bathroom.

Shi Niannian lay on the bed, her breathing still not recovered, the corners of her eyes reddened from his actions. She sniffled, reaching into the covers to pull her shirt back down.

Several red finger marks on her chest still felt hot and numb, looking utterly wanton.

The water sound in the bathroom stopped. Jiang Wang walked out and picked up a laptop from the side.

Shi Niannian watched him from under the covers: “Where are you going?”

He turned his head: “I still have some work to finish. You sleep first, I’ll come back when I’m done.”

Shi Niannian looked up at the time: “It’s so late, aren’t you going to sleep?”

He smiled, his dark eyes sweeping over her: “Are you planning to torment yourself or me?”

She was speechless. Jiang Wang left with a “you sleep first” and took his laptop out of the bedroom.

She didn’t remember exactly when Jiang Wang returned, only vaguely recalling that half asleep, the bed dipped, and a warmth pressed against her back.

Early the next morning, Jiang Wang was already preparing to go to the airport.

Shi Niannian opened her eyes drowsily, not fully awake. Jiang Wang crouched beside the bed, kissed her forehead, and said softly: “I’m leaving. You sleep a bit more.”

She rubbed her eyes: “Business trip?”

“Yes.”

“So early?”

He used to always look sleep-deprived during school days, but now, after just a few hours of sleep, he was getting up again.

Shi Niannian forced her eyes open to look at him. He was already dressed and groomed, showing no signs of fatigue.

Shortly after Jiang Wang left, Shi Niannian had a little more sleep before getting up. Standing on the stairs, she was startled to see the woman downstairs, recognizing her as the secretary she had seen with Jiang Wang yesterday.

“Hello, Miss Shi. I’m Mr. Jiang’s secretary, My surname is Zhao. Mr. Jiang instructed me to bring you a few outfits. The things from your previous residence will be delivered this afternoon.”

“Ah, thank you.” She accepted the bags of clothes.

She went back to her room to change. Besides a dress, there was also underwear. The feeling of having a stranger buy intimate apparel for her made her blush.

Downstairs, Secretary Zhao maintained her trademark smile as she watched Shi Niannian return to her room. Once alone, she abandoned her previously confident and professional work attitude, immediately pulling out her phone, opening a group chat, and sending a string of “ahhhhhhhhhhhh.”

Sisters!! Remember that girl I mentioned who came to the 19th floor with Mr. Jiang yesterday?!!!

This morning, Mr. Jiang asked me to buy women’s clothes and deliver them to his vampire castle. Guess who I saw!!!

That girl walking out of the bedroom!! Mr. Jiang’s bedroom!! I’m crying, our Mr. Jiang is finally having a sex life!!

Who is she? Is she pretty? Which family’s daughter??

Don’t know, never seen her! Incredibly pure-looking! Seems very young, she was wearing what looked like a high school uniform when she came out.

?????????? I knew it! Someone like Mr. Jiang, who stays away from women, once he starts, must be quite perverted!!!

She’s not a high school student! Seems like she’s doing graduate studies at B University. Maybe it’s… some kind of shame play?

Eww!

Shi Niannian changed and went downstairs to find Secretary Zhao still waiting.

She hesitated for a moment before politely asking: “Is there something else?”

Secretary Zhao put away her phone, quickly changing her expression, and flashed an appropriate smile, as if she hadn’t just been excitedly discussing “shame play.”

“Do they fit well?” she asked with a smile.

“Yes… Thank you.”

“That’s good. You have class at ten o’clock, right? Driving from here to B University takes about forty minutes. You should get ready to leave.”

Jiang Wang had directly assigned a secretary to her as well.

Shi Niannian: “Okay, I’ll go get my backpack.”

“Very well,” Secretary Zhao continued, smiling.

Then she lowered her head and took out her phone again: “Sisters, this ‘Mrs. Jiang is so young! She carries a backpack! The shoulder-strap kind! Mr. Jiang keeping such a delicate beauty hidden away is too much!”

Shi Niannian came downstairs yawning.

Secretary Zhao felt a pang of sympathy and hurriedly sent one last message.

With B University’s academic pressure plus having to serve our Mr. Jiang at night, every profession has its struggles!!!
