Chapter 166: The Six Cities Tournament (Part 8)

Judging by Ming Yi and Ji Bozai’s expressions, they had reached a consensus and intended to proceed with their plan.

Qin Shangwu was fuming. He had mentored many students, and while none were as gifted as these two, none had been so disobedient either. What was more important – victory or the recovery of those two injured fighters? It was absurd! Childish! Incomprehensible!

Did they think anyone would be moved by their actions? No! The others would only redouble their attacks, surround them, and use their burden to push them to the brink as well.

Mustar City had already suffered heavy losses. They couldn’t afford to lose these two as well.

However, the next day, Ji Bozai still went with Ming Yi to the two-person treasure hunt trial.

This round tested Yuan Power’s detection ability. There were three crystal treasure boxes on the mountain, with the first three cities to obtain them ranked as the top three.

Ming Yi excelled at this type of trial that didn’t require high Yuan Power intensity. Even without her divine artifact, she quickly sensed the direction of the nearest treasure box.

But after sensing it, she and Ji Bozai stood back-to-back, motionless.

A gust of wind arose as turbulent Yuan Power surged towards them from all sides.

The audience outside the sixth mirror began shouting: “Isn’t this still a siege? They all just want to come to challenge our Mustar City. What great coordination!”

“They’re only ten paces away. I don’t believe Yueyue City’s people didn’t notice Chaoyang City fighters’ Yuan Power. They’re still only charging at Zai Zai. Do they think we’re blind?!”

“This is the most unfair Six-City Conference I’ve ever seen from Yueyue City!”

The clamor grew so loud that those on the main platform had to speak up to pacify the crowd: “Currently, no one in the arena has violated the rules. Please remain calm, everyone.”

“Yesterday, beating Fan Yao and Chu He so brutally didn’t count as a violation. What does count as a violation then?”

“In the Six-City Conference, one is responsible for their own life and death. Even intentional injury doesn’t count as a violation,” a Yueyue City fighter snorted. “Deaths and injuries can only be blamed on one’s incompetence.”

“You—”

Just as the argument was about to escalate, the sixth mirror was suddenly engulfed in a fog of black and white Yuan Power.

Everyone was startled, standing up to see what had happened, but they could only vaguely make out Ming Yi and Ji Bozai constantly moving about.

Today, they weren’t concealing their Yuan Power, using their original colors. They weren’t rushing to seize the treasure boxes either, but attacking people first.

Yes, attacking people.

As the fog cleared somewhat, everyone saw Ming Yi stomping a Yueyue City fighter’s face into the mud, her force so great and fierce it seemed unlike a woman’s.

The person under her foot instantly lost their combat ability. The surrounding Mingyu quickly converged to form an elimination Mingyu descending to protect that fighter. But Ming Yi was faster, directly sending them flying, brushing past the elimination Mingyu to crash onto nearby rocks.

That fighter spat blood, grumbling resentfully: “You… personal vengeance…”

“How could that be?” Ming Yi smiled sweetly. Seeing the elimination Mingyu about to catch up, she immediately grabbed the fighter’s foot and flung them away, smashing them into another rock.

With a dull thud, the people in front of Yueyue City’s mirror seemed to hear the sound of that fighter’s bones cracking throughout their bodies.

“This is too much! Foul!” Yueyue City’s people stood up in anger to protest.

The Mustar City crowd, who had been furious moments ago, now calmed down. As they adjusted their headpieces and robes, they elegantly said: “In the Six-City Conference, one is responsible for their own life and death. Even intentional injury doesn’t count as a violation.”

“Indeed, deaths and injuries can only be blamed on one’s incompetence. Isn’t blaming others for violations just being a sore loser?”

These sarcastic remarks infuriated the Yueyue City crowd, who immediately protested on the main platform, demanding rescue for the injured fighter.

However, they were too slow. By the time the elimination Mingyu accurately enveloped that fighter, their injuries were no lighter than Fan Yao’s.

“I used to think endless revenge was pointless, that violence begets violence,” Ming Yi smiled as she walked towards the next person. “But now it’s different. Returning kindness for enmity, how then to repay kindness?”

Ji Bozai smiled as he listened, his star-like eyes gleaming as he gracefully broke another Yueyue City person’s arm.

His moves were quite vicious, but that handsome face still made the crowd in front of the mirror cup their cheeks: “Even as a butcher, Lord Ji is peerlessly elegant.”

“As expected of Zai Zai, even his movements are more beautiful than others.”

“Zai Zai, watch out behind you!”

The voices from outside couldn’t penetrate, but Ming Yi sensed the attack behind him. She took the hit on her protective barrier, then flew like lightning to the attacker’s front. With overwhelmingly brutal Yuan Power, she crushed all the meridians in their body instantly.

This was her old winning trick. Once the meridians were destroyed, all attacks would stop, and the fighter would lose their competitive spirit. Though they could no longer cultivate afterward, at least they would keep their life.

However, this time something went wrong. Even as this person screamed in agony, they still managed to strike out at her abdomen.

Ming Yi winced in pain, retreating two steps. Before she could counterattack, a black shadow rushed past her.

A dark dragon coiled around that person’s throat, not even giving the elimination Mingyu a chance to descend before viciously twisting.

With a crack.

The Chaoyang City people outside the mirror all stood up.

Ji Bozai had killed Zhou Qin, a Chaoyang City fighter who used to follow Ming Xian but later came to hate him bitterly. He was hailed as a rare genius in Chaoyang City, able to claim first place in the Six-City Conference at fifteen. Who would have thought he’d now be too weak to even fight back?

The Chaoyang City crowd looked extremely displeased. Wei Changsheng even cursed out loud: “Ungrateful wretches! These two are both ungrateful wretches!”

Zheng Tiao, sitting in a nearby area, couldn’t help but laugh when he heard this.

Wei Changsheng, already furious, turned to glare at him: “You, perpetual loser, dare to laugh?”

“I’m Ming Xian’s loser, not yours,” Zheng Tiao said. “You’d better realize, without Ming Xian, none of you are my match.”

Wei Changsheng flew into a rage, rising to confront him, but was held back by those nearby: “Don’t be hasty. There will be plenty of chances to meet him in the arena later. Zheng Tiao has never beaten us, and he won’t this time either.”

Turning back angrily, Wei Changsheng watched as Zhu Wu was severely injured by those two in the mirror, his heart seething with hatred.

They knew Ming Yi well and believed themselves to be the only ones who could defeat her. But after all their preparation, when they faced her, they were still completely suppressed.

And beside her was Ji Bozai.

This man had seemed arrogant in the first trial, but he hadn’t used his full strength. They had wasted time discussing how to counter Yuan Power’s disguise based on that first trial, but now it was all useless. They could only watch helplessly as he swept through Chaoyang City’s people like carrots and cabbage, tossing them all into the elimination Mingyu.
