Chapter 1557: The Thesis is Finally Complete!

April 8th, Monday.

“Finally finished! I’m simply a genius!”

Pei Qian excitedly unbuckled his seatbelt, stood up, and stretched.

April 10th was the submission deadline, but after secluding himself to focus on his work, Pei Qian’s efficiency had skyrocketed, and he’d actually completed the entire thesis two days ahead of schedule!

He had to admit, seclusion was indeed effective.

Completing it two days early meant he could show it to Zhang Wei first for some basic revisions before submitting it to Professor Kong.

This way, Professor Kong wouldn’t risk having a heart attack from seeing this unpolished thesis, which would make Pei Qian unforgivably guilty.

Pei Qian was generally quite satisfied with the content of his thesis, and even felt somewhat proud.

Since he had already established the main framework earlier, Pei Qian only needed to continuously refine within this structure. With so many real-world cases, plus analyses of these cases from Cui Geng, Qiao Liang, and various film critics, writing the thesis wasn’t actually that difficult.

In other words, Pei Qian’s research on others’ research about his own achievements had yielded rather fruitful results.

To increase credibility and persuasiveness, Pei Qian had included a simple analysis of these successful cases in the latter half of the thesis, fitting them into the theoretical framework of his paper.

The only problem was the lack of extensive citations and support from more profound theories.

But there was nothing he could do about that. After all, as an undergraduate student who could barely pass with a floating 60, achieving this level was already quite remarkable.

The rest of the content would be left for Professor Zhang Wei to worry about!

“I wonder how Old Ma’s thesis is coming along.”

Ma Yang had also secluded himself, and both of their theses needed to be reviewed by Professor Kong.

However, they had secluded themselves separately rather than together, so there hadn’t been much communication between them.

Ma Yang had said he would wait until Pei Qian established the general direction before freeloading off him, choosing one detail from Pei Qian’s thesis topic for in-depth research.

Pei Qian figured that since he had always passed exams by looking at Old Ma’s notes, it was only fair to help Old Ma out with his graduation thesis.

So after Pei Qian had worked out the main framework, he immediately provided it to Ma Yang.

As for whether this framework could meet Ma Yang’s requirements, which angle Ma Yang would choose to interpret, and what the final result would be—Pei Qian couldn’t concern himself with those issues.

After all, Pei Qian was deeply suffering from his own thesis troubles. He could barely handle his own situation, let alone have the energy to worry about Ma Yang’s.

Pei Qian went through the thesis content one more time, then thought for a moment and added a line at the end:

“The theoretical knowledge referenced in this paper consists of relatively basic, elementary concepts. Due to the short completion time and insufficient preparation, direct citations have not been included in the paper. If there are any inappropriate aspects, please forgive me. If there are any errors, I welcome corrections from all professors.”

Pei Qian had originally intended to explain this to Professor Zhang Wei personally, but then he reconsidered that the thesis might not be revised by Zhang Wei alone—it could possibly be given to several senior students or professors for revision simultaneously.

After all, Pei Qian now had a clearer understanding of his own status and was no longer blindly modest.

If he only explained this briefly to Professor Zhang Wei, there might be misunderstandings or omissions as the thesis was passed around.

So after some consideration, Pei Qian decided to simply write it directly at the end of the thesis.

This way, whoever revised the thesis would see this note.

Since he had been secluded writing his thesis for days, Pei Qian felt his whole brain had become quite scholarly, and this sentence he wrote carried a somewhat literary tone.

But that didn’t matter; Pei Qian felt he had expressed his meaning clearly.

This paper indeed used very basic theoretical knowledge, the kind that couldn’t be more fundamental from textbooks.

Given Pei Qian’s current academic level, he couldn’t handle anything too profound—let alone write about it, he might not even understand it.

After referencing this basic knowledge, Pei Qian thought it would be somewhat troublesome to find and cite each source from the textbooks, so he decided to leave this manual labor to Professor Zhang Wei.

This wasn’t a technical task and didn’t involve academic fraud or plagiarism; it was purely finding the original sources for the referenced content.

After checking twice more, Pei Qian felt there shouldn’t be any major issues, and graduating smoothly seemed certain.

So he sent the thesis to Professor Zhang Wei’s email and then called him to explain specifically.

“There are still some details in the thesis that aren’t done very well. Please, Professor Zhang Wei, take the trouble to help correct them. I’m quite busy with work and have very important matters to handle. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me anytime.”

Zhang Wei readily agreed: “No problem, leave it to me!”

“I heard that recently a social anti-Tenda alliance has emerged, launching attacks against Tenda in various fields. You must be under a lot of pressure lately, right?”

“To be able to take time to complete your thesis under such tense circumstances is already quite excellent.”

“How’s the situation at the company? Deal with it quickly, and make sure nothing goes wrong. Otherwise, it would be a loss for the entire Jingzhou—no, the entire nation!”

Pei Qian hurriedly replied, “Professor Zhang, please rest assured, everything is going according to my plan. Alright then, I need to go now.”

Pei Qian wasn’t lying—everything really was going according to his plan.

To outsiders, the anti-Tenda alliance’s offensive against Tenda Group seemed fierce and genuinely frightening.

But to Pei Qian, these people were all his good brothers, helping him lose money!

As long as these people could persevere in maintaining this alliance and continuously launch attacks against Tenda in various industries and fields, wouldn’t losing a hundred million this cycle be simple and easy?

Having resolved the thesis issue, Pei Qian felt completely relieved.

He ate something light, took a shower, and then prepared to go to the company to check things out.

After finishing his thesis, he had turned off airplane mode on his phone and checked the weekly reports from various departments.

Fortunately, there was no major bad news.

At the end of last month, the anti-Tenda alliance had challenged the gaming sector and was utterly defeated.

It seemed they had realized Tenda’s formidable nature and were temporarily lying low, brewing new offensives. They probably wouldn’t make a comeback in the short term, only sending out some departments for minor harassment.

For instance, the two livestreaming platforms, YiYi Livestream and Wolf Fang Livestream.

Bunny Tail Livestream’s racing competition over the weekend had been quite successful. When Qiao Liang was interviewed by reporters, he had clearly conveyed Pei Qian’s intentions.

This was equivalent to Bunny Tail Livestream making a verbal promise not to strike at other livestreaming platforms by banning Tenda games.

In Pei Qian’s view, this was already a very obvious attack signal given to YiYi Livestream and Wolf Fang Livestream. Surely they wouldn’t fail to recognize this?

Based on the latest weekly report from Qiao Liang, it seemed these two platforms had indeed recognized it.

Because their poaching activities had intensified!

This behavior appeared to be continuously testing Bunny Tail Livestream’s bottom line.

Qiao Liang didn’t have many good solutions either and could only follow Pei Qian’s requirements by slightly increasing the streamers’ benefits and treatment levels.

Besides that, no other significant events had occurred.

However, the temporary calm hadn’t clouded Pei Qian’s judgment. He still decided to visit the company to identify hidden problems in various departments.

Departments without issues would receive praise and be encouraged to maintain their performance.

Departments with issues would need timely correction.

Meanwhile, Zhang Wei opened his email and saw the thesis Pei Qian had sent.

“The Theory of Creation and Dissemination of Popular Literary Works in the Internet Age?”

“This title is so broad!”

Zhang Wei was somewhat surprised that Pei Qian would come up with such a sweeping title—one that could even serve as a research title for master’s or doctoral students!

Although everyone knew that Mr. Pei was a business prodigy who had established the vast Tenda commercial empire during his four years in university, and was also an outstanding game designer and film screenwriter with remarkable achievements in literary creation, he was still just an ordinary undergraduate student.

When it came to writing theses, there was no reason he should naturally excel without guidance, right?

Moreover, Pei Qian had never achieved particularly outstanding results in his professional courses. Whether in closed-book or open-book exams, he basically just barely passed.

For some subjects, the instructors had even been lenient.

There were also some courses where the final assignment was to write a paper, and Pei Qian had submitted papers, but these papers weren’t particularly impressive either.

Therefore, Zhang Wei hadn’t had high expectations for Pei Qian’s thesis and was prepared to make substantial revisions.

But after seeing this title, Zhang Wei was stunned.

The topic was simply too broad, making it difficult to revise!

If it had been a smaller topic, Zhang Wei was confident that with his level of expertise, he could make it quite excellent.

But this title was too grand, even far beyond Zhang Wei’s own academic level. Could he really revise it properly? Zhang Wei himself wasn’t confident.

“This is bad; I should have supervised Pei Qian’s topic selection!”

“With such a broad title, how could an ordinary undergraduate possibly write it?”

Zhang Wei was a bit panicked.

If this topic wasn’t well-written, or if it completely exceeded an undergraduate’s capabilities, there were only two options: First, force through the revisions, but this would be highly inefficient, and the final result would be unpredictable.

Second, start over and choose a relatively smaller, more manageable angle.

Clearly, either option would be troublesome.

Tenda Group was currently at a critical moment in its business battles, and Pei Qian was the cornerstone of the entire company. How could he possibly spare that much time to rewrite his thesis?

Zhang Wei somewhat regretted not inquiring about the thesis earlier, but now he had received the finished product directly, making revisions very difficult.

He sighed slightly, then began to read the thesis.
