Chapter 1203: Former Residence

Qi Xia, Chen Junnan, Qiao Jiajin, Lawyer Zhang, Tiantian, Yun Yao, and others entered the teleportation door of “Blissful Qianzhuang.”

When they emerged from the other side, they found themselves in a room with a faint fragrance.

The room was quite spacious, not only containing a bed but also a dining table. It looked like someone of considerable status had once lived here.

However, the decoration style and furniture arrangement looked very minimalist. Only the size of the room seemed befitting of an important figure.

Looking back, everyone discovered they had actually walked out from a peculiar wardrobe. This wardrobe sat quietly in the corner of the room. Unless one opened the door, no one would imagine there was something special hidden within.

“Where the hell did this teleport us to?” After confirming no one was in the room, Chen Junnan swaggered forward. “Shouldn’t it have sent us to the corridor?”

“I see…” Qi Xia nodded. “How thoroughly considerate.”

Chen Junnan walked to the desk and discovered that everything here had been tidied up neatly—not even a single hair remained.

The next second, a strange group photo on the desk caught Chen Junnan’s attention.

This was a very old Polaroid photograph. In the image, a man held a camera aimed at himself, looking at the camera lens. Not far behind him stood a woman wearing a convenience store uniform. That woman seemed to be discussing something with others, and no one had noticed the man taking the photo. Everyone was looking in different directions, thus forming what seemed like a strange yet somewhat warm group photo.

However, all the faces in the photo had been worn away, making it impossible to see their features. This photograph, placed here, appeared quite old, covered with scattered specks of dust.

“Why do these two people’s clothes look so familiar to me…” Chen Junnan scratched his head and turned to look at Qi Xia. “Old Qi, who used to live in this place?”

“A golden monkey,” Qi Xia answered.

“A golden monkey…?” Chen Junnan scratched his head after hearing this. “Almost forgot this is a zoo.”

Everyone walked into this room that appeared both spacious and warm, feeling that although there wasn’t much furniture here, it could still give people some ethereal sense of security.

“Not quite friends,” Qi Xia said. “Just comrades-in-arms working toward the same goal. She’s no longer here now.”

Qi Xia walked to the center of the room, only then realizing this was the first time in his memory he had entered this room.

“What an ‘Energy Storage’… you even stole the ‘door’ and brought it home.” Qi Xia smiled faintly.

Outside the room, things were slightly noisy at the moment. It seemed the commotion had already begun.

Everyone knew that no matter what, they couldn’t leave the room now, or they would very likely be caught up in the chaos.

Even if turmoil was occurring outside right now, it must be scattered “Zodiacs” and “Participants” clashing. Neither side had any clear leader, and victory could only depend on fate.

“Still not going to help? Liar boy,” Qiao Jiajin walked to Qi Xia’s side and asked.

“Yes.” Qi Xia nodded. “Everyone has their own destiny. Those destined to die, we can’t save. Those destined to survive, we can’t kill either.”

Qiao Jiajin walked to the door and found an arrow pointing right drawn on the door frame.

He pressed his ear against the door and listened, discovering there were many footsteps. He didn’t know if it was “Zodiacs” getting off work or “Participants” rebelling.

Driven by curiosity, he quietly and subtly pulled the door open a crack. Just then, several “Participant” figures flashed past.

“Hey… holy shit… our own people?” Qiao Jiajin pulled the door open a bit wider.

Qi Xia and Chen Junnan also looked out through the crack, only to see Xiao Ran’s face flash past from right to left the next second.

All three of them saw this face almost simultaneously, and Chen Junnan and Qiao Jiajin’s expressions began to become uncomfortable.

“Wait… bro, I think I just saw some kind of ghost flash past,” Chen Junnan said. “I’d better be blind.”

“Junnan boy, you’re not blind,” Qiao Jiajin blinked and said. “I must be the one who’s really blind.”

“Ha…” Qi Xia’s lips curved slightly upward. “She’s here earlier than I imagined…”

“What the hell?!” Chen Junnan was stunned after hearing this. “Old Qi, you summoned that ghost? Are you fucking Zhong Kui?”

“I don’t dare claim to be Zhong Kui. I can only say I know how to use people well.” Qi Xia said. “One move of ‘Diverting Disaster to the East’ might make Qinglong suffer a loss, provided she really has the fate to swagger all the way there.”

“‘Disaster’…?”

“For the bizarre ‘opportunity’ of ‘regaining favor after losing it,’ I can only help you achieve half of it. The rest depends on you.” After Qi Xia finished speaking, he turned to look at everyone. “Next, just wait quietly here.”

“Wait for what?” Qiao Jiajin turned back and asked.

“Wait for the signal of ‘Rebellion.'” Qi Xia said. “Once ‘Rebellion’ begins, you can move freely. I’ll say it again—follow your hearts and do whatever you want to do.”

Hearing Qi Xia say this, Chen Junnan could only sit down at the desk in boredom. He wanted to look through the things here, but the owner of this room seemed to have some kind of obsessive-compulsive disorder and had left nothing behind.

Chen Junnan’s restless hands fumbled randomly under the desk. After a few seconds, he frowned.

Something like a book was placed on the back of the desktop.

“Hey… what the fuck…” Chen Junnan slowly bent down and looked at the underside of the desktop from below. “A perfectly good rebellion turned into treasure hunting for me.”

“What’s wrong, Junnan boy?” Hearing “treasure hunting,” Qiao Jiajin instantly became interested.

“Old Qiao… quick… there’s a notebook underneath. Since we’re idle anyway, let’s find a way to pry it off and see what it is.”

As Xiao Ran walked forward, quickly separating from the crowd, she looked around for “Zodiac” figures.

She didn’t know if it was good or bad luck, but after walking for so long, she hadn’t seen any “Zodiacs.”

Why couldn’t one suddenly appear?

Why couldn’t a “Zodiac” who looked very formidable suddenly appear to listen to her report?

Such important information—reporting it upward should earn them a promotion, right?

“Really giving you all opportunities but you don’t know how to seize them…”

Just as she was speaking, a tall and thin-looking “Zodiac” indeed appeared not far ahead. He was currently facing away from her, seemingly waiting for someone.

Just from that person’s aura, Xiao Ran knew he was definitely a formidable figure—not only someone she could attach herself to but also her best target for informing.

Thinking of this, she excitedly hurried forward a few steps, came up behind that “Zodiac,” and reached out to tap him.

“Big brother!”

That “Zodiac” turned around.

It was a Black Sheep with a cold expression.

“Big brother! Really sorry to disturb you, but I have something very important I want to tell you.” Xiao Ran squeezed out a sweet smile toward him.

Black Sheep expressionlessly lowered his head and looked at the woman before him.
