Chapter 1236: Lin Qin

Qinglong heard the woman slowly walk out the door and continued to rub his forehead with his hand.

Everything seemed strange now, but he simply couldn’t figure out where the problem lay.

On the surface, everything appeared perfectly normal… If there was anything unforgettable about today, it was probably that game of “Cangjiqi” he played against Qi Xia, and that reckless Xuanwu who wanted to fight him.

But was Xuanwu really that strong? To actually make him lose so much conviction?

After the “Cangjiqi” game, his mind began to feel slightly chaotic, and even his “Spiritual Hearing” had disappeared without a trace.

The current “Train” looked no different from before.

Even in the worst-case scenario, it was just Qi Xia bringing various “Participants” onto the “Train,” and perhaps there were even Qi Xia’s moles among the “Zodiacs.” These people now wanted to turn the “Train” upside down.

Almost everyone had gathered here for different reasons. Some people were fed up with oppression and wanted to resist one last time at this critical moment; some were dissatisfied with “Heaven-Level” management and wanted to replace them; some wanted to take advantage of the chaos to eliminate the two Dragons and completely overthrow the entire “Taoyuan”; and still others were driven by pretentious dreams or righteousness, willing to be shattered to pieces if it meant saving all the sinners.

No matter what their motives were, they had indeed been brought together now, throwing the entire “Train” into utter chaos.

But so what?

This was still the “Train,” after all. As long as he could activate his “Immortal Arts,” the situation wouldn’t spiral beyond control.

Qinglong slowly closed his eyes, searching in his mind for that trace of “Soul Seizure” he had left behind. She should have boarded the “Train” too, right?

His chaotic mind made Qinglong feel like even his conviction had stagnated. It took him several times longer than usual to finally locate that person on the “Train.”

But her mind seemed barely more lucid than his own.

In her mind, only three thoughts kept repeating over and over:

“Should I eat something?”

“Am I being too quiet?”

“I need to use the bathroom.”

These three thoughts seemed even clearer than usual, repeating constantly.

Qinglong was about to withdraw his probing, but a few seconds later, he felt something wasn’t quite right.

Although these were the most common thoughts an ordinary person would have…

But as a participant who had boarded the “Train”… didn’t she have any other thoughts in her mind?

In her consciousness, there was no tension, no fear, not even any hope.

Her thoughts contained no “Zodiacs” and no teammates, as if she had set aside everything happening on the “Train.”

If this could still be called “normal”… then the situation was developing in a bizarre direction.

Lin Qin—had she realized she was being monitored?

But all the control he exerted over her was happening almost in her subconscious, and even her memories were meticulously crafted by him. How could she have noticed?

To ensure Qi Xia would always have motivation to move forward in this memory-wiped reincarnation land, he had painstakingly given Lin Qin an identity from the year 2068, and within this fabricated memory, he had added an elderly man who resembled Qi Xia.

Unfortunately, even Lin Qin had never met this old man. If Qi Xia ever asked, Lin Qin would only truthfully relay that “a friend had seen him.”

Her subconscious would tell her that no matter how unrelated that old man seemed to Qi Xia, he must be Qi Xia who had escaped from this place.

Only by holding onto this belief would Qi Xia overcome all obstacles to board the “Train” and direct his attacks toward Tianlong.

Why did that old man keep muttering “Divine Deception”?

Qinglong slowly raised the corners of his mouth. The clues were already buried in Lin Qin’s memories—because this entire memory was false.

This was simply a joke about destiny that he, as a “God,” had played on the insect-like “mortals.”

And why did Lin Qin appear in the room as a “psychological counselor”?

After all, only by having similar life experiences to that arrogant Qi Xia could she better initiate conversations.

How could a psychology master’s degree holder open her heart to ordinary people?

Qinglong slowly closed his eyes, using “Soul Seizure” to try to make Lin Qin stand up, then look at the scene before her.

He couldn’t obtain the view from Lin Qin’s eyes, but he could control Lin Qin’s subconscious.

“What’s in front of me?” Qinglong murmured.

“There are… walls…” Lin Qin’s voice echoed in Qinglong’s mind.

“Why is there no one?” Qinglong asked again. “Where are the people in front of me?”

“The people in front of me…” Lin Qin paused. “There’s no one in front of me…”

“I need to look for them,” Qinglong said. “I need to know who’s around me, and I also want to know what they’re trying to do.”

Earth-Dog and Xiao Xiao watched from behind Lin Qin as she stood up, then remained silent with her head lowered.

The next second, they saw Lin Qin raise her palm and slowly cover her mouth and nose.

“There’s no one around me…” After a long silence, Lin Qin finally spoke. “And I don’t know where I am.”

This short statement made Qinglong’s brow furrow slightly.

It seemed this peculiar informant really had developed a problem. Either she had become mentally confused, or she had already been won over by Qi Xia.

But if she had been won over by Qi Xia… what reason would he have not to know?

Countless questions made Qinglong’s mind even more chaotic, but with so many rooms on the “Train,” he temporarily had no way to find Lin Qin and get to the bottom of this.

But how could a single chess piece developing a problem possibly affect him?

“It seems I’m still not suited to using ‘needles’…” Qinglong said quietly. “I just need myself.”

Earth-Dog and Xiao Xiao saw Lin Qin quiet down and walked forward to check on her condition.

“Are you all right?” Earth-Dog asked. “Were you talking to someone?”

Lin Qin placed one hand on her chest and covered her mouth and nose with the other, looking rather uncomfortable.

“I’m fine… it’s just too smelly,” Lin Qin struggled to control her emotions before finally removing the hand covering her mouth and nose.

“Smelly…?” Earth-Dog yawned lazily. “That’s strange. You seem like you’ve retained quite a few memories, yet you still think it smells here?”

“Ha.” Lin Qin chuckled softly. “Yes, even you understand this logic, yet some people don’t.”

“Oh?”

“I’ve been wandering around here for seven years… yet there’s no way for me to get used to the smell here. I think it reeks, so I have no choice but to cover my mouth and nose when I walk.”

Lin Qin waved her hand in front of her mouth and nose, as if trying to blow away all the air before her.

“This is very illogical… isn’t it?”
