Chapter 1293: Fireworks

Heavenly-Mouse couldn’t see anything and just reached out his hands to grope around everywhere.

He felt Earth-Mouse seemed to still be moving. He reached out to feel around his own waist, but those hands remained ice-cold with pitifully little strength.

A few seconds later, Earth-Mouse’s hands slid off from Heavenly-Mouse’s body and made no more movement.

Heavenly-Mouse paused, reached out his leg to kick Earth-Mouse, and found he was lying on the ground motionless like a corpse.

He was too frightened to make a sound. Although he was covered in wounds now, he had indeed survived. Even though his eyes were destroyed, as long as he could find Heavenly-Snake, the “Twin Flowers” in that room could restore him completely.

The only problem now… was how to avoid those “ants” outside the door?

Most of the “ants” were demoted from “Earth Level.” Their physical qualities were no worse than his own. With all these injuries he had sustained… could there still be a way to escape?

Heavenly-Mouse stood in a daze in the room for quite a while, feeling like he had perhaps thought of a bizarre way to save his life.

At this moment, perhaps only this method could allow him to safely pass through the corridor, right…?

He kept his bleeding eyes tightly shut and constantly groped around every corner of the room amid the knocking sounds. Soon he found a rusty metal candlestick on the table surface.

He reached out to grip the candlestick, then removed his tattered shirt and thrust it at a tricky angle toward his own back.

As screams rang out one after another, all the eyes on Heavenly-Mouse’s back were destroyed. To be safe, he reached out to feel again, and only after confirming his back was all mangled, bloody flesh did he finally feel at ease.

He smiled bitterly. The candlestick in his hand fell to the ground with a “clang,” and then he murmured: “What a pity… Whether it’s you or the ‘ants’ outside the door, no one can do anything to me tonight.”

Earth-Mouse made no movement at all, just quietly remained where he was. It seemed he had done everything he could do. Now only powerlessness remained.

Heavenly-Mouse groped forward a step and said: “If you had opened the door earlier and let those monsters come in to tear me to shreds… how could you have ended up in your current state?”

Heavenly-Mouse snorted coldly, spat on the ground, then turned around to come to the door. He carefully pulled open the door, and those knocking sounds came to an abrupt halt at this moment.

He waited a few seconds, then heard some barefoot footsteps circling around him for a while before finally walking into the room somewhat uncertainly.

Their footsteps were very confused.

Heavenly-Mouse grinned, revealing his remaining teeth: “Success… success… cough… In the end, I’m still the winner.”

A tall Earth-Rabbit covered in scars happened to walk around the “ants” to the room’s doorway at this moment, just seeing the blood-covered Heavenly-Mouse open the door and walk out. He also frowned at this moment.

Heavenly-Mouse was still alive. It seemed Earth-Mouse had failed.

That glib-tongued Earth-Mouse who spoke with barbs had ultimately failed to take revenge with his own hands.

Earth-Rabbit had originally wanted to come see Heavenly-Mouse’s corpse so he could die at ease, but things in this world ultimately couldn’t go as one wished.

Thinking about it, it wasn’t hard to understand. He himself was strong and robust, yet only managed to kill Heavenly-Rabbit with the help of the “ants.” How could Earth-Mouse possibly kill Heavenly-Mouse safe and sound?

“If that’s the case… it can only be left to me…” Earth-Rabbit paused. “Mouse brother… let me take revenge for you… you shouldn’t mind…”

But just as Earth-Rabbit was about to make his move, he suddenly began coughing violently. He felt his life was also disappearing. Although all his subconsciousness was suppressing his breathing, as soon as he relaxed slightly he would cough up a large mouthful of blood.

The figure of Heavenly-Mouse before his eyes gradually blurred. Earth-Rabbit could only support himself against the wall as he slowly knelt down.

Perhaps all this was still too much of a stretch. Wanting to fight two “Heavenly Levels” consecutively… If every “Earth Level” had this kind of strength, how could they have been oppressed until now?

He lay down by the wall, just seeing inside the room Heavenly-Mouse had walked out of, Earth-Mouse lying there with a smile on his face. He wanted to open his mouth to say something, but the instant he opened his mouth, only coughing remained.

The violent coughing made Heavenly-Mouse slightly puzzled. He couldn’t see, but always felt the newcomer had ill intentions.

“Who’s there?” Heavenly-Mouse asked.

Earth-Rabbit looked at this blind Heavenly-Mouse with eyes full of resentment, yet remained utterly powerless. He didn’t even have the strength to speak anymore. The prolonged oxygen deprivation made his head throb with pain, and all the scenery before his eyes began to blur.

He endured the severe pain from his chest and lungs and took a deep breath, then widened his eyes to look at Heavenly-Mouse. He had clearly already lost the fight—why was Earth-Mouse still smiling?

The next second, he saw something unusual on Heavenly-Mouse’s neck, but because Heavenly-Mouse had too many wounds on his body, he himself had overlooked this issue.

“Ha…” Earth-Rabbit chuckled lightly. “So that’s how it is… Old thing… you have this day too…”

“Who…?” Heavenly-Mouse turned his head and looked toward where the sound came from.

“I’m… a fireworks spectator who came to admire the show… haha…” Earth-Rabbit had also run out of strength and just struggled to raise his head. “Your current appearance is far too satisfying to me…”

“Fireworks spectator…?” Heavenly-Mouse paused, suddenly remembering something and hurriedly reached out to feel his own neck.

A metal collar had somehow been placed around his neck.

He remembered that just now Earth-Mouse had reached out to feel around his neck.

Could it be he wasn’t trying to strangle him to death… but just wanted to take advantage of the final moment to give him the metal collar he had always worn?

But Earth-Mouse had just now not only touched his neck but also touched his waist. Could it be…

Heavenly-Mouse immediately reached out to feel, only to discover his waist was completely empty. All the bomb remote controls had also disappeared.

An extremely uneasy premonition began spreading in his heart. He felt like he had fallen into a trap. Not only was there no way to escape death, he had even personally blinded all the eyes on his back.

He stumbled and turned around, only to hear light laughter coming from inside that broken room.

“Haha… Old bastard…” Earth-Mouse said through gritted teeth. “I said I would kill you with my own hands… Otherwise my entire journey would lose its meaning… How could I possibly let the ‘ants’ tear you to shreds? You just go down to hell in peace…”

“Wait!”

Just as Heavenly-Mouse’s words fell, Earth-Mouse’s thumb had already pressed down on the remote.

With just a muffled sound, the collar on Heavenly-Mouse’s neck emitted a dazzling white light, then large amounts of fresh blood sprayed onto the ceiling like a fountain before falling to the ground like a shower of filthy rain.

The falling rain continuously beat against the floor, leaving the barely surviving Earth-Mouse and Earth-Rabbit both silent.

“Ha… Fortunately…” Earth-Rabbit looked at those scattered fragments of flesh and blood, and only after a long while said, “Finally got to see Heavenly-Mouse die before me…”

Earth-Mouse leaned against the wall, unable even to reply.

“Brother…” Earth-Rabbit tried to talk to him. “Can you still live…?”

After hearing this, Earth-Mouse weakly shook his head.

“It’s okay… it’s okay, brother…” Earth-Rabbit smiled bitterly. “It’s okay if you can’t live… At least we’ll win this battle… We will ultimately…”

As Earth-Rabbit spoke, he seemed somewhat unconfident, and his expression also gradually became dejected.

Ultimately…

Will we win?
