Chapter 193: Fairness

It took Qiao Jiajin about three minutes to slowly approach the bottom.

The light here was very dim, and his eyes couldn’t adapt right away.

He looked carefully for a long time before finding the large stone that had fallen earlier, then flipped over and leaped, releasing his grip on the rope and landing on the boulder.

“Strange…” He lowered his stance and surveyed the surrounding environment. There wasn’t even half a person in sight.

At this moment, only a shallow beam of light fell from directly above onto the boulder. Apart from this small area, the surroundings seemed as pitch black as if submerged at the bottom of the sea.

“Hey, Kung Fu Girl!” Qiao Jiajin shouted loudly. “Are you here?”

After his words, echoes reverberated, and from two directions came the rustling sound of footsteps shuffling.

“I see…” Qiao Jiajin jumped down from the boulder and plunged into the darkness. “Because it’s dark here, neither of you two dares to act rashly, right?”

No one responded from the surroundings. Qiao Jiajin had an ominous premonition in his heart.

He knew Li Xiangling must be seriously injured—otherwise, she wouldn’t remain silent upon seeing her teammate. Now he needed to ensure her safety as much as possible.

“Leather jacket man, do you hear my voice?” Qiao Jiajin continued shouting. “I’m in the open and you’re in the dark—what are you afraid of? Go ahead and come hit me.”

A faint sound of footsteps came again, which Qiao Jiajin keenly captured.

He stopped talking and instead moved his body lightly, heading toward those footsteps.

“Hey! If you don’t come hit me, I’m going to come find you.”

Slowly, Qiao Jiajin felt he was already very close to that person.

But he wasn’t sure whether the person in the darkness was Li Xiangling or Luo Shiyi.

So he could only slowly raise both hands—this way, no matter who the other party was, he could restrain their movements at the first opportunity.

In the darkness, Qiao Jiajin felt his right hand seemed to touch something. His expression turned cold, and he grabbed directly at that person, only to feel he had grasped a slender arm.

“Ah!”

A woman’s voice cried out softly.

Qiao Jiajin quickly supported her and came to her side.

“Kung Fu Girl?” Qiao Jiajin called out in a low voice. “Don’t be afraid.”

“Brother Qiao…” Li Xiangling exhaled with lingering fear and replied quietly, “You scared me to death…”

“Are you alright? Are you injured?”

“I have several wounds bleeding on my body. I have no strength left now…” Li Xiangling said. “That man was too vicious…”

“Leave it to me. You deal with your wounds first.” Qiao Jiajin said.

Qiao Jiajin reached out and patted Li Xiangling’s shoulder. He felt something strange—Li Xiangling seemed to have gotten taller.

He felt more carefully and discovered that his hand was covered in blood after patting Li Xiangling’s shoulder.

“You…” Qiao Jiajin’s expression darkened. “How seriously are you injured?”

“Surface wounds…” Li Xiangling said weakly. “Don’t worry about me… you need to be careful of that man…”

“Alright…” Qiao Jiajin nodded. “What exactly happened just now?”

Li Xiangling took a breath and said, “Originally there was a table placed in the center here… with a candle and a key on it. The two of us started fighting over the key… but unexpectedly a stone fell from the sky, not only pinning the key and candle, but making this place pitch black…”

Qiao Jiajin felt Li Xiangling was becoming weaker.

“Stop talking for now…” Qiao Jiajin said. “I understand the situation. Leave the rest to me. We’ll talk about anything else after we get back.”

His expression turned ice cold as he turned around. He no longer concealed his footsteps, but instead walked directly toward the other side.

Faint footsteps had also come from there. Thinking about it now, that must be where that scum was hiding.

“Hey.” Qiao Jiajin called out. “Didn’t you look pretty fierce? After beating up a girl, you’re hiding?”

From the pitch-black corner not far away came a low voice: “Hoodlum, I admit defeat. I won’t fight you.”

“No good.” Qiao Jiajin shook his head. “If you had injured me, I could accept surrender. But you injured my teammate. Now I’m here for ‘revenge,’ and ‘revenge’ doesn’t accept surrender.”

“Don’t force me…!!” Luo Shiyi hid in the corner, his voice trembling as he spoke. “If you force me, I’ll hunt you two down again and again…”

“How would I be forcing you?” Qiao Jiajin took a step forward. “I know you’re injured. In that case, I’ll hold back and give you my two legs.”

Luo Shiyi was stunned: “What did you say?”

Qiao Jiajin replied, “Am I not speaking clearly? I won’t use my legs. Starting now, I’ll stand here without moving and won’t use any kicking techniques.”

“Are you looking down on me…?” Luo Shiyi asked.

“That’s right, I do look down on you.” Qiao Jiajin nodded. “I don’t really like people who bully the weak and fear the strong.”

“You’ll regret this…”

Although Luo Shiyi released harsh words, he still remained hidden in the darkness without showing himself.

“I’ll also give you my right hand.” Qiao Jiajin put his right hand behind his back. “I won’t use my right hand either. Does this work? Can you come out and fight now?”

“You…”

Luo Shiyi pondered in the darkness for a long time, not knowing what he was thinking about.

“I won’t use either of my damn hands!” Qiao Jiajin shouted coldly, placing both hands behind his back. “Loser! I’m giving you all four limbs—do you dare come out and fight now?!”

“Are you fucking insulting me?!”

Luo Shiyi finally appeared.

After getting closer, Qiao Jiajin borrowed the faint light coming from overhead to finally see clearly how horrifying his injuries were.

Li Xiangling and he had indeed gone through a fierce battle.

At this moment, his forehead was still exposing white bone, his face covered in blood. Both his hands seemed injured as well, constantly trembling. He limped forward, holding a stone he had picked up from the ground.

“Don’t think you can beat me just because I’m injured…” Luo Shiyi showed a sinister smile. “If I really get ruthless, even if you’re an ‘Echo User,’ you won’t gain any advantage.”

“I absolutely don’t mean to look down on you.” Qiao Jiajin nodded. “Besides, I keep my word. I absolutely won’t use my four limbs. If either my hands or feet move even once, you win.”

“You said it!” Luo Shiyi, holding the stone, was about to charge forward.

At this moment, Qiao Jiajin continued to speak coldly: “But to be fair, you can’t cheat either.”

As soon as the words fell, Luo Shiyi’s body suddenly lit up with a faint glow. This flash scattered like dandelion seeds, illuminating the entire cave.

“AHHHHHHH!!”

Luo Shiyi suddenly let out a heart-wrenching scream. After a moment, his voice became hoarse.

He knelt on the ground in agony, clutching his forehead at one moment, his hands the next, then his abdomen.

From the start of the game until now, all the pain he had ever suffered burst forth simultaneously.

The internal organs that Li Xiangling had injured earlier also took effect. After coughing a few times, Luo Shiyi spat out a large mouthful of fresh blood, then slowly collapsed to the ground.

“Damn it… you…” Luo Shiyi raised his head slowly to look at Qiao Jiajin. “What kind of ability is this… what the hell are you thinking?”

“I don’t know what this ability is either.” Qiao Jiajin shook his head. “I wasn’t thinking anything in my heart. I just wanted an honest one-on-one fight.”

“You’re too terrifying… you…” Luo Shiyi coughed up blood and gradually fell silent.

This man had died from the pain itself.

“Street scum…” Qiao Jiajin said. “Next time we meet, try to kill me. I’ll be waiting for you.”
