Chapter 211: The Day of Rebellion

Qiao Jiajin’s expression didn’t look too good.

After a while, he stood up with a “whoosh” and headed toward the classroom door.

“Fist,” Qi Xia called out. “Where are you going?”

“I’m going to save someone,” Qiao Jiajin answered. “Kung Fu Girl fought alongside me—she’s my comrade-in-arms.”

“You’re just one person. How will you stand against the entire ‘Heaven’s Mouth’?” Qi Xia asked.

“I…” Qiao Jiajin paused. “Liar Boy, aren’t you still here? I’m not alone—there are two of us.”

“Good. Since you consider me one of your own, let me tell you a plan,” Qi Xia said. “Doctor Zhao, Lin Qin, Han Yimo—this plan will require your cooperation as well.”

Upon hearing this, everyone sat forward with serious expressions on their faces.

Qiao Jiajin slowly pushed open the door to the infirmary. Zhang Shan was no longer there—only Li Xiangling sat reading a tattered martial arts novel.

“Qiao Ge?” The moment Li Xiangling saw Qiao Jiajin, her face broke into a smile. She closed her book, tidied her hair, and sat up straighter. “You came?”

“Hey, Kung Fu Girl.” Qiao Jiajin slowly sat down beside Li Xiangling. “What are you reading?”

“A not-very-good martial arts novel.” Li Xiangling smiled and handed the book over. “Have you read it?”

Qiao Jiajin glanced at the title and shook his head.

“What’s this book about?” Qiao Jiajin asked casually.

“It’s ridiculous…” Li Xiangling smiled sheepishly. “It’s about a great hero in the martial world—handsome and skilled in martial arts—who’s always playing out scenes of hero saving beauty. All the women who appear in the book fall for him, and people keep asking him, ‘Are you married yet?'”

“Haha.” Qiao Jiajin laughed. He’d never read such a ridiculous novel.

“Are you married yet?” Li Xiangling said. “Qiao Ge, don’t you think that’s funny?”

“Yeah, pretty funny. And then?”

“Are you married yet?” Li Xiangling said again.

“Am I marr—? Huh??” He raised his head to stare at Li Xiangling, only to find the girl’s cheeks had turned a bit red.

Qiao Jiajin was so startled he immediately stood up, his face full of bewilderment.

“What…? What’s going on?” He looked at Li Xiangling in confusion, at a loss. “Kung Fu Girl, did I misunderstand something?”

“Of, of course…” Li Xiangling smiled awkwardly, though there was a trace of disappointment in her eyes. “Qiao Ge, I was just telling you the story from the book! Where did your mind go?”

“Oh, hey.” Only then did Qiao Jiajin feel relieved enough to sit back down. “Then that’s my bad. I misheard.”

“R-right…”

The two fell silent for a moment. Li Xiangling turned to look at the pitch-black night outside the window, then asked, “Qiao Ge, did you come looking for me about something?”

“Nothing much.” Qiao Jiajin shook his head. “Someone wants to kill you, so I came to protect you.”

“Oh, then… wait, what?” Li Xiangling didn’t react for a moment. “Someone wants to kill me?!”

“Shh, don’t shout.” Qiao Jiajin placed a finger in front of his lips. “Kung Fu Girl, do you trust me?”

“Mm…” Li Xiangling nodded carefully.

“Just rest easy. With me here, nothing will happen.”

As Qiao Jiajin spoke, he lay down in another spot, looking extremely relaxed.

The faint chirping of insects came from the distance. The room was very quiet.

The bonfire gradually died out. Neither of them went to light it again—they just lay quietly in the two corners of the room.

Li Xiangling couldn’t close her eyes at all.

She wasn’t worried about someone coming to kill her. She was just very curious—what kind of person was Qiao Jiajin, really?

Why was it that even though he clearly had tattoos covering his entire back, he wasn’t off-putting at all?

They’d only experienced one game together, yet this man was truly strange—he’d completely disrupted her state of mind.

“Qiao Ge, are you asleep?” Li Xiangling asked very softly.

Qiao Jiajin didn’t answer.

Li Xiangling could only close her eyes awkwardly, feeling she’d been a bit presumptuous.

Time gradually passed. The bonfires throughout the entire teaching building began to slowly die out. Listening to the rustling sounds outside the window, Li Xiangling actually started to feel drowsy.

It had been four days since arriving at the Land of the End, and this was the first time she felt at ease.

She didn’t know how much time had passed when Li Xiangling felt her arm getting somewhat itchy.

She groggily opened her eyes and saw a dark shadow standing beside her, touching her arm.

Though she was half-asleep and half-awake, she knew there were only herself and Qiao Jiajin in this room.

But she still felt something was strange. She had touched Qiao Jiajin’s palm before and felt it was very hot, yet this hand before her was exceptionally cold.

“Qiao… Ge?” Li Xiangling called out softly.

The dark shadow didn’t speak, just kept groping along her arm as if searching for something.

“Hey…” Feeling those increasingly cold hands, Li Xiangling grew frightened. “You… who are you?”

Before the other party could answer, Li Xiangling saw another figure stand up in the darkness, then swing a chair and throw it directly at the window.

Crash!!

A tremendous sound rang out. The room’s glass was shattered to pieces. The dark shadow in front of Li Xiangling was clearly startled and turned to flee, but Qiao Jiajin was already waiting at the door.

The next second, several beams of light suddenly shot in from outside the window.

Clearly, someone was shining flashlights into the room.

Li Xiangling also instantly saw the dark shadow clearly.

It was Chu Tianqiu.

He was still holding a filthy syringe in his hand.

“Tianqiu Boy, what are you trying to do?” Qiao Jiajin asked with a smile. “Coming to visit a patient?”

The people holding flashlights in the distance also slowly walked over.

Chu Tianqiu turned to look and immediately revealed an uneasy expression.

Yun Yao, Zhang Shan, Qi Xia, Lin Qin, Zhao Haibo, Han Yimo… This group of people didn’t seem to be asleep at all—instead, they appeared to have been specifically waiting for him here.

“You… you all…”

Before Chu could finish speaking, Qiao Jiajin immediately shouted loudly toward the corridor: “Someone come quick! This is serious!”

In just moments, all the classrooms stirred into commotion, and people threw on their clothes and poked their heads out.

By the time Chu Tianqiu came to his senses, he was practically surrounded by the entire “Heaven’s Mouth.”

Qi Xia slowly walked forward, looking at Chu Tianqiu before him with somewhat meaningful eyes.

“What are you doing?” Qi Xia asked.

“I came to visit the sick,” Chu Tianqiu said without changing expression.

“Oh? Setting aside why you’d come to visit a patient in the middle of the night… what about that syringe in your hand?”

“This…” Chu Tianqiu looked down at the syringe. “Just some antibiotics, to prevent wound infection.”

“I advise you to think carefully before speaking.” Qi Xia pulled a man in a white lab coat forward from behind him. “We have a doctor in our team.”

Upon seeing this, Chu Tianqiu blinked slightly.

Qi Xia knew his objective had been achieved.

Xu Liunian, this challenge came at just the right moment. How exactly will you resolve this?
