Chapter 580: Peril

No one present paid any attention to Zheng Yingxiong. Instead, they were all staring at Tiantian.

“Do anything?” Old Fang walked forward with a smile. “Little miss, you’re too naive. Do you know what’s going to happen next?”

“I know.” Tiantian answered in a low voice. “No matter what happens, it’s fine. But you must let this child go first.”

Seeing that the men didn’t respond, Tiantian reiterated, “No matter what you say, I’m the most useful one to you, right? There’s no point in keeping him here.”

“But if you don’t behave…” Old Fang started getting handsy with Tiantian, but discovered she had no reaction at all.

“Behave…?” Tiantian was somewhat confused. “I proposed this plan myself. What do you mean I won’t behave?”

“You…” Old Fang froze, then turned back to look at the suited man and the young man. He seemed to have never encountered a girl like this—she was too cooperative.

The middle-aged man in the suit kept frowning at Tiantian, seemingly also pondering her motives.

At this moment, the tall young man who hadn’t spoken all along opened his mouth. His expression looked somewhat unnatural. “Uncle Fang… Uncle Liu… why don’t we just forget it… How are we any different from animals if we do this…”

“Fuck!” Old Fang shouted in rebuke. “We’re animals? Did you eat the things we stole? Did you drink them?”

“I…” The young man was somewhat at a loss for words from Old Fang’s retort. “Uncles, I’ve tried to stop you many times when you were stealing before, but you always used your experience and seniority to argue with me… Those things are in the past, let’s not talk about them. But what are you doing now? Robbery, rape, murder?”

“Xiao Cheng, stay quietly to the side.” Old Fang said. “They’re all crimes, but no one here will control us… If the victim dies here, other people passing by won’t even say a word of pity. We’ve already lived miserably enough in the real world. Do we have to live miserably here too?”

As he spoke, he turned back to look at Tiantian, then reached out to touch her face. “How many of you have slept with a girl of this quality in reality? Huh? You don’t even know to use the opportunity when it’s right in front of your face. Do you really want to wait until after we escape from here, go back to being losers, and then regret ‘why didn’t I do it back then’? Huh?!”

“No… that’s not right…” The young man called Xiao Cheng furrowed his brows tightly. “No matter what you say… forcing someone is wrong… She’s also human, not a tool!”

Tiantian had witnessed too many such scenes. She could only slowly close her eyes and say, “No, I’m willing. As long as you’re willing to let this child go, I’m completely willing for whatever comes next.”

Tiantian’s words made the three men hesitate again.

In all the TV dramas they had watched, such a scenario had never appeared. Why was she so cooperative?

“She must be playing some trick.” The suited man said. “Tie up the kid, or else she’ll try to run.”

“What…” Now it was Tiantian’s turn to be confused. “Are you sick?! I’ve already said this much… and you still won’t let this child go?!”

“It’s… it’s okay… big sister…” Zheng Yingxiong climbed up from the ground, his nose and mouth both bleeding. “I’ll protect you…”

Countless thoughts instantly flooded Tiantian’s mind. Right now, was there any way to both save Zheng Yingxiong and get herself out safely?

“No… I don’t need to get out safely…” Tiantian murmured to herself.

Zheng Yingxiong once again shakily raised the newspaper short sword in his hand. “I am… a hero…”

“Brat…” Old Fang seemed to really hate children. His eyes were burning as he looked at Zheng Yingxiong. “Watch me break your legs today…”

As he spoke, he lunged forward. At this critical moment, Zheng Yingxiong threw away the short sword in his hand and directly grabbed Old Fang’s arm, then bit down hard.

“Ow!”

Old Fang cried out in pain, but before he could retaliate, Zheng Yingxiong suddenly rammed into his groin.

In the brief span of one or two seconds, Zheng Yingxiong actually knocked the bloated Old Fang to the ground.

Tiantian was stunned for a moment, then immediately reached out to pull Zheng Yingxiong. “Run quickly!”

The two turned and rushed toward the door. Seeing the situation was bad, the suited man got up to chase. The young man nearby hurriedly blocked him. “Uncle Liu! How about…”

“Get lost!” The man called Uncle Liu kicked the young man down, then picked up a stick from the ground and chased after them.

Tiantian and Zheng Yingxiong’s stamina wasn’t advantageous to begin with. In seven or eight steps, they were caught up. Old Liu swung the wooden stick viciously at Tiantian.

Zheng Yingxiong cried out in alarm and immediately turned back, flying forward to crash into Old Liu’s chest.

But Old Liu was obviously much stronger than Old Fang. This collision only stopped his attack and made him step back half a step.

His expression paused slightly, then he immediately swung the stick down again.

Zheng Yingxiong was right in front of him with no way to dodge. His forehead took a direct hit.

This rotten wooden stick exploded into pieces on his small head, but his body swayed yet still stood without falling. Bright red blood flowed down from his forehead until it blinded his eyes.

Tiantian drew in a sharp breath and took a large step to block in front of Yingxiong. Though her height was slightly taller than Zheng Yingxiong’s, facing the tall and burly Old Liu, she was still far short.

“Damn it…” Old Liu looked at Tiantian while holding the broken wooden stick. “I knew you wanted to run… Don’t you understand the situation now? If I let you go, you can go. If I don’t let you go, you can only die here.”

“I was wrong… brother…” Tiantian’s whole body trembled as she blocked Zheng Yingxiong behind her. “We won’t run anymore… This child is already injured. Don’t hit him anymore. I’ll do whatever you tell me to do.”

Tiantian discovered the man before her was unmoved. She hurriedly pulled at her clothes. “Look, brother, I can do it. I can do anything.”

Her hands kept trembling. There was no longer any trace of her previous composure in her eyes.

“Interesting.” The man casually threw away the broken wooden stick in his hand and looked with interest at Tiantian whose clothes were disheveled. “You’re protecting that kid so much. What is he to you?”

“Just met by chance.” Tiantian said. “He saved me once, and I’m saving him once.”

“Big sister… don’t worry about me. I’ll protect you. I can die here…” Zheng Yingxiong murmured softly behind Tiantian. “You just need to run… I’ll hold him off…”

After hearing this, Tiantian hurriedly turned back and reached out to wipe the blood from his forehead. “Why are you such a foolish child? Why would you protect someone like me? There’s no need…”

“Big sister, I already told you—because… I’m a hero.”
