“So you’ve always been this ruthless, kid?” Decadent Dog asked.
“Leader, you’re flattering me again.” Earth-Mouse replied with a fake smile. “Compared to all of you, I’m absolutely a model of mercy and soft-heartedness. You all are the truly ruthless ones who could descend to the eighteenth level of hell.”
“If you keep running your mouth like this…” Decadent Dog shook his head. “The collar around your neck will never come off. Clearly I’m the Earth-Dog, yet you’re the one who needs to wear a collar to participate in the game. Doesn’t that bother you?”
Earth-Mouse, who had been wearing a fake smile all along, heard Earth-Dog’s words and his expression gradually turned cold. He didn’t speak for a long time.
“Dog, it’s precisely because I want to remove the collar from my neck that I’ve exposed myself for the first time in so many years, throwing myself into the eye of the storm.” Earth-Mouse said in a deep voice. “This team truly has flaws everywhere. If we want even the slightest hope of success, we probably need an excellent strategic commander.”
“Are you talking about yourself?”
“Of course.” Earth-Mouse nodded. “I don’t think I’m dumber than any of us four, so it’s more than appropriate for me to be the captain.”
After hearing this, Earth-Dog lowered his voice and leaned close to Earth-Mouse’s ear, saying softly, “You probably don’t know who the captain we’re selecting needs to cooperate with, do you…?”
“Who?” Earth-Mouse turned his head and asked. “Isn’t it Pei Qianhu?”
“It’s Baiyang.” Earth-Dog said very quietly. “Are you sure you can match up to him?”
“Uh…” Earth-Mouse was slightly stunned. “Let me confirm first—is it ‘that’ Baiyang?”
“How many sheep are there in the ‘Land of Terminus’ in total?!” Decadent Dog frowned and said. “There are only two above ‘Earth-level,’ and you’re standing right in front of the other one.”
“My goodness…” Only now did Earth-Mouse realize how serious the situation was. “I thought it was Pei Qianhu having a whim to sabotage this place… but it turns out to be Baiyang’s plan?”
“Now you know.” Earth-Dog still wore his nonchalant expression. “If it were really just Pei Qianhu making the decisions alone, how could I possibly have dragged you in?”
Earth-Mouse was now in a difficult position. “If that’s the case… my petty cleverness can’t possibly make it to the big stage. Although I don’t have much of a relationship with Baiyang, most of the ‘Earth-level’ games here were designed with Baiyang’s participation…”
“But didn’t Baiyang get promoted to ‘Heaven’?” Earth-Mouse still didn’t quite understand. “About a month ago, didn’t we watch him walk off the train with our own eyes? How much time has passed since then, and he’s already brought people to rebel?”
“Just like I told you yesterday…” Earth-Dog shook his head helplessly. “This place probably doesn’t have a path to ascend to ‘Heaven.'”
“You fucking only told me there’s no path to ascend to ‘Heaven’ here, you didn’t tell me Baiyang failed!” Earth-Mouse’s expression changed repeatedly. “So what is he now? ‘Human-level’?”
“He’s a ‘Participant.'” Earth-Dog answered. “He became the most ordinary ‘Participant’ and is now active in the ‘Land of Terminus.’ As you know, even if he lost all his memories, he’s still himself. Wherever he goes, he’ll be particularly eye-catching…”
“Wait a minute…” Earth-Mouse raised his hand to interrupt Earth-Dog. “What’s his name?”
“Qi Xia.”
After hearing these two words, Earth-Mouse was first stunned, then showed an expression of “just as I expected.”
“If that’s the case… I have no choice but to participate in this storm as well.” Earth-Mouse slowly stood up, looking toward the four people fighting in the distance.
Black Sheep and Earth-Horse were barely evenly matched. Although Earth-Horse was strongly built, Black Sheep was clearly more intelligent. He borrowed various props and weapons to maneuver around Earth-Horse, and for the moment hadn’t fallen into a disadvantage.
Earth-Tiger on the other side clearly wasn’t as fortunate. Earth-Pig had been Earth-level for decades, while Earth-Tiger had just taken office. The two’s control over their bodies was completely on different levels.
In the time it took for Decadent Dog and Corporate Slave Mouse to chat a few sentences, Earth-Tiger’s face had already drawn blood. A piece of flesh on his face seemed to have been torn open, and crimson blood stained his fur.
“You son of a bitch…” Earth-Tiger said through gritted teeth. “Looks like you really aren’t planning to leave today…”
The Earth-Pig before him was also somewhat out of breath. It seemed that the battle with Earth-Tiger was more difficult than he had imagined.
“Are you really just newly promoted, you big oaf…?” Earth-Pig asked. “Or are you forcing yourself? If you admit defeat now, I can let you die quickly.”
“Forcing myself my ass?” Earth-Tiger rolled up his sleeves, vigorously wiped the blood from his face, and snorted coldly. “The person on this entire train who could make me sincerely submit is no longer here. Even if ‘Heavenly-Dragon’ himself came and stood in front of me and broke every bone in my body, I absolutely would not submit!”
“A tough mouth won’t keep you alive…” Earth-Pig reached out to unfasten the buttons of his suit, took off his jacket and threw it aside.
Seeing this, Earth-Tiger also took off his suit. The two men, now wearing only their shirts, both walked forward two steps.
In the next second, the two men of vastly different builds collided with their hands. Instantly, a tremendous sound erupted, like a car crash.
The floor beneath their feet shattered one after another, and the scattered food on the ground was also blown away by an invisible shockwave.
A collision between ‘Earth-level’ beings was clearly not an ordinary fight. If there were any Participants inside the room, once they were grazed they would undoubtedly die.
Earth-Tiger had just been promoted, and Earth-Pig didn’t know much about him. After this exchange, he discovered that he seemed to have underestimated his opponent somewhat.
Although he had just been promoted, this Earth-Tiger’s combat ability was extremely formidable. He was probably the “Earth-level strongest” besides himself and Earth-Dragon. The most terrifying situation for ‘Earth-level’ was having received combat training in the real world. This tall, white-headed Earth-Tiger standing before him was very likely a professional boxer.
Earth-Pig gritted his teeth and pushed Earth-Tiger back, then resorted to dirty tricks, attacking nothing but the eyes and the groin, using his own agile form to constantly maneuver around Earth-Tiger.
Earth-Mouse, watching this scene from the side, turned back and gave Earth-Dog a look. Earth-Dog then nodded, stood up, and walked toward the outside of the room.
He walked outside the room door, dodging the indiscriminate attacks from Earth-Sheep and Earth-Horse, then reached out to open the door.
Outside that door, a full crowd of “Zodiacs” was already standing—both Human-level and Earth-level, more than a dozen people in total.
Seeing the room door suddenly open, everyone’s expressions were somewhat unnatural.
“Teacher Earth-Dog…” A female Man-Snake spoke up. “Why are you here? What happened?”
“Drank too much, got into a fight.” Earth-Dog answered. “Everyone help keep this secret. If it alarms those above, it’ll be troublesome.”
