Chapter 734: Whose Order?

This pitch-black iron sword wailed for a while in Zhang Shan’s hands, then finally fell silent.

“Really like a living creature… how strange.”

Seeing the black sword no longer responding, Zhang Shan casually tossed the remaining half onto the ground.

Seeing this, Old Lu turned his head back while scratching the bloody mark on his belly and asked, “Little Glasses, you alright?”

“I’m fine, Old Lu.” Little Glasses reached up to push his frames. “You saved me. I’ll find a way to repay you.”

“What do you mean I saved you? Better repay Zhang Shan instead.”

Old Lu looked Little Glasses over and, finding he indeed had no issues, turned his head to look at Zhang Shan.

“Zhang Shan, what do we do next? The situation is pretty damn tricky now, right?”

“What’s tricky about this?” Zhang Shan chuckled lightly. “I’ll go meet with them. If we can’t come to an agreement, I don’t mind knocking them both down.”

As Zhang Shan spoke, he walked forward, with Old Lu and Little Glasses following closely behind.

Seeing the three people slowly approaching from the distance, Han Yimo reached out to tug at Doctor Zhao.

“Hey… I, I didn’t see wrong just now, did I? That person seemed to have caught the ‘Seven Black Swords’ and then smashed it on the ground until it broke.”

After hearing this, Doctor Zhao shook his somewhat dizzy head and looked into the distance. “No, no way, right…? That sword just killed several ‘Echo’ users. If it could be broken, it would have broken long ago…”

“But I think I really did see it…” Han Yimo said in a daze. “My sword is gone…”

“Don’t just stand there stupidly…” Doctor Zhao turned his head and said, “Since we’ve already started killing… we can’t explain ourselves if we stop now. Summon another one!”

After finishing this sentence, Han Yimo suddenly felt a wave of dizziness in his head. His brain was clearly overtaxed. When he raised his head again, the sky’s edge still complied with his wishes, as the sound of wind came through.

Zhang Shan looked up toward the sky’s edge, feeling this situation was getting too hard to fathom.

Every person’s “Echo” had its fixed ability, but what kind of ability was summoning a flying sword?

“Hey!” Zhang Shan shouted at the top of his lungs. “You over there! Put away your ‘Echo’ and come talk to me!”

Only then did Han Yimo and Doctor Zhao vaguely see clearly that the person approaching was actually Zhang Shan. Zhang Shan was, after all, one of the leaders of “Heaven’s Mouth,” and the aura he emanated immediately intimidated the two.

“Zhang, Zhang Shan!” Han Yimo shouted at the top of his voice. “I advise you not to walk any further! Stand there and wait for death!!”

After hearing this, Doctor Zhao tugged at him. “What nonsense are you saying…?”

“We’ve already started killing people!!” Han Yimo pointed at the corpses not far away and said, “All these people we killed are from ‘Heaven’s Mouth.’ Do you think Zhang Shan will let us two off?”

“But…!” Doctor Zhao said with a grave expression. “Chu Tianqiu told me that Zhang Shan is ‘Heaven’s Vigorous Movement’! That sword of yours can’t hurt him!”

“What ‘Heaven’s Vigorous Movement’…” Han Yimo gritted his teeth. “Anyway, it was Chu Tianqiu who told us to help him kill people… Whatever happens, Chu Tianqiu is responsible.”

“That’s exactly the problem!!” Doctor Zhao said with a stern expression. “Chu Tianqiu hopes we’ll be his ‘guns,’ but we two also need to learn to protect ourselves! We can’t rashly attack a character of Zhang Shan’s level. You first put away the ‘Seven Black Swords,’ and we’ll chat with him first! Otherwise, if he really gets angry, he might very well beat us both to death right here!”

After hearing this, Han Yimo revealed a bitter smile. “But have you forgotten…? The ‘Seven Black Swords’ isn’t under my control at all…”

As soon as the words fell, the iron sword in the sky had already flown before them. After circling once in the air, it finally aimed its tip at Zhang Shan and his two companions.

“Damn.” Zhang Shan looked at the black sword in midair and chuckled lightly. “Why is the situation getting stranger and stranger? Don’t even want to talk with me—must kill us first?”

The black iron sword didn’t hesitate, flying toward Little Glasses behind Zhang Shan and Old Lu. At this moment, Doctor Zhao immediately ran toward a female corpse beside him.

Zhang Shan’s expression was cold as he watched the iron sword fly toward him at high speed with whooshing wind sounds.

He took a deep breath, raised his pillar-like thick arms, and was just about to use full force to meet this strike when the iron sword seemed to become like rotten wood, disintegrating as it advanced through the air, then completely turned into black powder and scattered with the breeze.

“Oh…?” Zhang Shan furrowed his brow, reaching out to block the dust before his eyes. “Somewhat interesting.”

“Zhang Shan!” Doctor Zhao shouted. “Sorry… we really don’t want to attack you.”

“Ha…” Zhang Shan chuckled lightly, continuing to walk forward step by step. “You don’t attack me just because I’m Zhang Shan?”

“This…”

“The others aren’t Zhang Shan, so they died under your sword, but I’m Zhang Shan, so you don’t want to attack me. But you have no relationship with me. Are you afraid of my ability?” The aura emanating from Zhang Shan made the two feel somewhat dangerous.

“We have orders to follow and can only act accordingly,” Doctor Zhao said. “So even if you kill us, it won’t be of any use. We’re just lackeys.”

“Can the phrase ‘acting on orders’ offset so many lives?” Zhang Shan spat on the ground. “Damn, the others finally survived the deadly ‘Pegasus Moment,’ wanting to return to ‘Heaven’s Mouth’ to take refuge, and you’re fucking waiting here with an iron sword, killing anyone you see… What kind of logic is that? If you don’t give me an explanation today, then you two can go keep them company.”

“Don’t!!” Doctor Zhao waved his hand. “We really have a mission! It was Chu Tianqiu who told us to do this!!”

“Chu…”

After these words, not only Zhang Shan but even Old Lu and Little Glasses on the side furrowed their brows.

“Little Chu?” Old Lu was startled. “Last time I didn’t have an ‘Echo,’ so I didn’t remember things from before, but isn’t that Little Chu our leader?”

Little Glasses lowered his head in thought. He similarly hadn’t preserved his memories and couldn’t judge the truth or falsehood of the other’s words for the moment.

Zhang Shan, however, boldly shook his head. “Too bad I don’t believe you. Chu Tianqiu is the person I trust most here. This lie you’re telling is far too ridiculous.”

“It’s true!” Doctor Zhao said. “Zhang Shan, do you think we two ate the heart of a bear and the gall of a leopard? This is ‘Heaven’s Mouth’s’ territory. We two aren’t recklessly bold people. Why would we swagger around killing people here?”

Zhang Shan sneered. “If you say it’s Chu Tianqiu’s order, I’d say it looks more like your leader Qi Xia’s order.”
