Chapter 762: Which Dragon

The “Mole” who had already lost all his senses naturally couldn’t give any answer to Qi Xia’s question.

He had no way to respond to whether what Qi Xia said was true or false. He simply stood in place, staring intently at Qi Xia, as if trying to make the other party believe him.

“I still don’t quite understand,” Qi Xia said. “The phrase ‘escape from under Dragon’s hand’ sounds just like telling someone ‘you must stay alive.’ Although it makes sense, it’s useless.”

Chen Junnan and Qiao Jiajin standing nearby also couldn’t understand the meaning of this phrase.

Chen Junnan boldly walked forward and patted the “Mole” on the shoulder directly. “Hey! Buddy! Let me get you some paper and pen so you can write it again!”

Before Qi Xia could speak, the “Mole” was startled badly and instantly jumped backward off the windowsill.

It seemed he thought there was only Qi Xia in the room and was frightened considerably by Chen Junnan’s sudden appearance.

“Hey! Don’t go, buddy! Why are you being so polite?! Come inside and have some food!”

Chen Junnan grabbed the windowsill, about to jump out, but was pulled back by Qiao Jiajin.

“Junnan Tsai, Junnan Tsai!” Qiao Jiajin said. “Look outside!”

Chen Junnan looked in the direction Qiao Jiajin was pointing and discovered a large group of “Moles” lying prostrate on the distant street.

They remained motionless, all facing the three people’s direction, seemingly ready to pounce at any moment.

Chen Junnan swallowed hard, now grateful he hadn’t jumped out directly. Although in his memory these things had never attacked people, having so many gathered together was still somewhat chilling.

Qi Xia silently watched the “Mole” before him, feeling he should still leave behind some important information.

He saw the “Mole” raise his pair of hollow eyes to look in Qi Xia’s direction, then lift his nonexistent nose to sniff, before reaching out to grope for something on the ground.

Then he lifted up a stone, as if displaying it to the several people before him.

“Old Qi, Old Qiao…” Chen Junnan said, “This guy isn’t going to throw stones at us, is he?”

Before anyone else could answer, the “Mole” crushed the stone in his hand into powder like foam.

“Huh?” Chen Junnan was stunned. “What’s that about?”

“So sharp…” Qiao Jiajin also murmured.

Then the three saw the “Mole” turn around and, looking back every few steps in the darkness, walk into the midst of the other “Moles.”

The other “Moles” also made way for him at this moment. After he joined the group, they followed him and disappeared together into the night.

Only then did Qi Xia feel his judgment seemed to have a deviation.

These “Moles” weren’t hunters attracted by his eyeballs, lurking in the distance waiting for an opportunity. They were more like a group of guards.

They were protecting that special “Mole.”

“Do ‘Moles’ also have a king of ‘Moles’…?” Qi Xia murmured to himself.

“Baa?” Qiao Jiajin was stunned at this moment. “Was that an ‘Ant Queen’?”

Chen Junnan blinked. “It has to be you, Old Qiao… ‘Ant Queen’ is so apt…”

Qi Xia shook his head. Unfortunately, all the “Moles” looked pretty much the same. After they left in groups, it was now impossible to distinguish which one had just “conversed” with him.

“What the hell is going on…?” Chen Junnan said quietly. “In the middle of the night, an ‘Ant Queen’ runs in to write characters for you, then performs crushing a stone with his palm? Old Qi, what kind of constitution do you have?”

“I don’t know,” Qi Xia shook his head. “He seemed to want to express something to me, but couldn’t express it clearly due to too much ambiguity.”

Thinking carefully, this “Mole” wrote a total of three characters from appearance to disappearance.

When he discovered Qi Xia was before him, the first character he wrote was “who.”

When Qi Xia revealed his identity, he wrote “escape.”

When Qi Xia wrote a question mark, he answered “Dragon.”

In other words, this strange “Mole,” after being attracted by his eyes, immediately came to confirm his identity. Upon learning he was indeed Qi Xia, he wrote “escape” and told him it was “because of Dragon.”

Did he want him to escape from this place…?

But thinking from another angle, these “Moles” understood this damn place even better than Earth-level “Zodiacs”—how could they possibly let him “escape”? They knew better than anyone that there was no escaping from here; the entire world was one huge deception.

So what was his reason for coming here?

Qi Xia, escape, Dragon.

Qi Xia quickly pondered these crucial pieces of information, then slowly narrowed his eyes.

“Could there still be some misunderstanding?” Qi Xia rubbed his chin, feeling he couldn’t understand any other meaning.

“What’s wrong?” Qiao Jiajin scratched his head from the side. “Swindler Boy, if you don’t understand something, you can bring it up. We can all help you think of ideas together.”

After hearing this, Chen Junnan threw a punch at Qiao Jiajin’s rock-hard chest. “Are you sleep-addled, kid? You want to help Old Qi use his brain? Even I wouldn’t dare boast such big words.”

“Hey, many hands make light work,” Qiao Jiajin said. “Junnan Tsai, you said it yourself—the three of us have three different approaches.”

After hearing this, Qi Xia nodded. “I just feel that ‘Mole’s’ motive was very strange. Everyone here wants to ‘escape,’ but he went through so much trouble to come before me specifically to write the character ‘escape’ for me. This leaves me completely puzzled.”

After hearing this, Qiao Jiajin thought very seriously, then spoke. “Swindler Boy… do you think you might be overthinking it?”

“Hm?”

“My brain isn’t as useful as yours, so I can only think about what’s in front of me,” Qiao Jiajin said. “Those bug-people might be like me, you know? Maybe what they’re trying to express isn’t as profound as you imagine.”

Hearing Qiao Jiajin’s statement, Qi Xia furrowed his brow.

Indeed, Qiao Jiajin’s way of thinking was very different from his own.

If he could look at it from another angle, the three characters the “Mole” wrote would take on a different meaning.

What if the “Dragon” the “Mole” spoke of wasn’t “Qinglong” or “Heavenly-Dragon”…?

“Chu Tianqiu and I are about to go find ‘Earth-Dragon’…” Qi Xia said in a low voice. “Is that what the ‘Mole’ was trying to warn me about…?”

“Earth-Dragon?” Chen Junnan and Qiao Jiajin were both stunned simultaneously.

“He wanted to tell me ‘Earth-Dragon’ is dangerous,” Qi Xia said. “If it weren’t such an urgent matter, he wouldn’t have taken such a great risk to come warn me at night. After all, they’re ‘Moles.’ Even though they have no aggression, the tragic reality is that everyone here will attack them the moment they see them, because they’re ‘monsters.'”
